I'm very sorry for your loss.

I have a Bella 2.2 lb. 1500 watt from Kohl's My mom needed a small one and I got her a Dash 1.2 qt. 900 watt from Target. It doesn't have enough power for me, but for her (1 person/90 years old/small portions), it's fine.

LOL I'm a rule breaker. Crispy and buttery on the outside and ooey gooey cheesy on the inside. Ooohhh ahhhh

I think the batter would fall off of the fish before it had time to set. Breaded items (I've tried chicken) spritzed with a bit of oil would work.

We really like ours (got it on Black Friday last year Kohl's online). Great for crispy french fries, pizza rolls, grilled cheese sandwiches, grilled chicken, reheating pizza...ooh and newly discovered bacon wrapped tator tots topped with cheese and green onions. I like that it's quicker than using my oven.

Menard's usually has them in their ad for around $150, I believe (except one year I remember they had paddle boards instead). Dick's Sporting Goods have had them in their ads also. Walmart has a 10' one available now for $150 and free shipping if you pickup at the store.

You've had lots of good ideas. Recently, we've been giving cash to our grown son (in addition to some gifts to open). Within his gifts and his sock presents, I fold up money of different denominations and hide them in his gifts. Fun to watch him try to look in every nook and cranny. I just have to try to remember the total, so he doesn't miss something. ;-) Check on Pinterest, they've got some cute ideas for gift cards.

Spring may be here to stay in Missouri. Finally got my beds cleaned up, yard raked, mulch out, deck touched up, irrigation system dewinterized, lawn furniture out, hummingbird feeder filled, new roof installed. Now the green polllen will come and cover everything. ;-)

Lowe's has started too. Mulch, mulch, mulch.
