  1. where we used to live (Virginia Beach) there is NO way I'd take my child shopping on Black Friday. The crowds and people are just insane! And like len_mullen said I would be scared we'd get separated and then who knows who is in the stores looking for a child that is not near his/her mom. I'd rather be safe than sorry. However, we have since moved and now live in a small town and last year we all went to our local walmart (the only big store here besides Lowes) after lunch and it was like any other day, not crowded, pallets in the isles still with lots of sale items still on them. I think if there was a big ticket item, that was hot that we wanted to get (and knew it wouldn't last), I'd just go early in the morning myself and let hubby stay home with our son. On the other hand, it might not be so bad here... When we moved here 2 years ago I asked one of the cashiers how it was on black friday and she looked at me somewhat confused and funny! Sort of like a "what are you talking about"? lol lol I try to do most of my Black Friday shopping online, been pretty lucky so far!
  2. Maybe it's just too early in the morning still, but aren't they charging more than what the card itself is worth?
  3. I wanted to sign up for the keurig one too but above the first question is said it was only open to Seattle and Oregon residents
  4. Those of you that are in Isaac's path be safe. It's looking more and more like we aren't going to get any remnants of it over here at the NC/VA border near the coast.
  5. The ones that really stand out in my head (don't have the receipt anymore) the composition books were $.50 each, the crayola color pencils were $.97 each box of 12, pencil top erasers were $.97 for a 25 pack... I'm sure if I had waited a few more weeks the sale would have been better but in our little itty bitty walmart stuff goes fast! Most of the stuff I got was in the sale ad.
  6. Just went and did some back to school shopping this morning at walmart. 10 composition books, pencil top erasers, dry erase markers, pencils, scissors, crayon box, colored pencils, glue sticks and a few more things. I still have lots left to buy just waiting for the other stuff to go on sale too
  7. Not sure about the first question you have I ordered mine from apple on black friday. We use verizon and for me to be able to use my ipad 2 anywhere else away from a wifi connection it's an additional $30.00 a month but it's not a contract you can sign up anytime and cancel anytime but you will be charged for that whole month. So for instance I want to use it for the month of March, I pay $30.00 for that month and decided I don't want it in April I just call and cancel it before April gets here. Hope this helps some.
  8. prism break is on amazon for $7.99 http://www.amazon.com/Skylanders-Spyros-Adventure-Prism-Nintendo-3DS/dp/B0056G278Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326994979&sr=8-1
  9. Thanks for sharing the instock addy. My son has decided that since Christmas is over he now wants it because one of his friends has it.. lol I am thinking easter basket! lol
  10. I had never thought of using an excel spreadsheet. I usually just put stuff up in the attic and then whatever it is coming up go up there and sort through. I know, not very organized.
  11. ok, so I could take in my son's old Dragon Tales DVD's and they would give me a $5.00 credit for them towards a blu-ray?
  12. I think they are the best! I love to make hot tea, hot chocolate, hot cider, etc... It is very convenient when more than one person wants something different. Just pop the cup out and put another one in for the next person.
  13. I saw a news story similar to the original posters story. I think it is very sad that it has taken them this long to realize that they do not have the items that people ordered especially as far back as Nov. I am glad that they are offering some sort of compensation but that doesn't help too much at this point in time with it being 2 days from Christmas.
  14. Thanks for the heads up on when you got it but I went back and looked through emails and there was still nothing...
  15. Wow! I had 2 orders canceled within a few days of each other and didn't get anything.
  16. Ya know this is gross but it's also hilarious at the same time.
  17. Thanks for your reply I ordered a computer for them from geeks.com but when I got it yesterday it was DOA! Now, I am hesitant to order from them again. And figured if maybe the one at walmart was decent I could at least take it back to the store and pick up a square trade warranty.
  18. Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal? Thanks http://www.walmart.com/ip/eMachines-Refurbished-EL1852-52W-Desktop-PC-with-Intel-Pentium-E5800-Processor-3GB-Memory-1TB-Hard-Drive-and-Windows-7-Home-Premium-Monitor-Not-I/19524124
  19. I know this is soooo last minute but we bought a CPU from geeks.com, got it this evening and plugged everything up and it doesn't work. I am looking for something in the $250.00ish range, it can be refurbished. This is for my husband and son who don't do nearly as much stuff as I do on the computer. lol Thanks in advance
