  1. I'm in buy.com runaround hell. They never have enough inventory to fulfill their orders. I think this is the last time I'll bother with them.
  2. My condolences to you too. my dad died on the same date last year.
  3. nah I'm not buying or selling one, I just want to get some idea about the whole videogame thing and who's who
  4. Is Gamestop a good place to get all your hardware adn software for those things? (xbox, PSP, whatever). Is there some other shop that's better ?
  5. your decision will probably be made by the deals that they roll out. IMO a smaller one (less $) is better bec in a couple years you're going to want a newer, better one anyway
  6. what happens after 4 weeks?
  7. ok, I'll go thru the org's websites then, edit: I think I typed karina. did someone fix it?
  8. I have a 5 yr FAR one that let's you turn it on and off. RTFM!?? (couldn't resist) :D
  9. thanks, I ordered it. came to $95 - 30 rebates. I looked in IE even if I refresh, it still showed unvailabale. but since you posted that, I checked in opera and there it was. thanks for the heads up! I just hope they ship it ok. My last order was a 256 mb CF card for FAR a couple months ago, which was lost in transit somewhere and was a huge PITA to sort out.
  10. yeah I saw that deal for about $60 but of course I didn't know this kid (not me) wanted it. ALso, I'd prefer to PM to staples, because buy.com has always been a PITA, though they evetually come thru, if I bug them enough. It's not my dealio, so I'd prefer to take a low-hassle route if possible. I have till the end of Sept to get it.
  11. my understanding is that more than 128 mb is a waste for most people and that the # of pipes is more important? anyway, I'm just repeating what I've heard bec I don't know jack about video cards. I have an ATI 9600XT that I got last year for $100. it replaced a maddog card that last about 6 weeks. don't ever get that brand, even if it's FAR. if you don't need a card rightnow, they usually have some blow out at best buy on video cards on BF. edit: it says call for availability. that means none in stock. also check out compusa. they often have decent card deals.
  12. if you don't have a fry's near you, you can get them here for $2, shipped
  13. is the citibank one the same one that has the $150 dealio?
  14. are there really condos that sleep 15? isn't a hotel about the same price (for 7 rooms). but there wouldn't be a kitchen you could contact a realtor. they might know
  15. well, i'm not sure where v3 is but I just got a PM again from 6-28. looks like there are some kinks in the widgets!
  16. yeah turns out if you call them, they make the 6015i and the 404 free and waive both activations on the $80 family plan which you can drop down to the $60 plan right away when you get the phone I went that route. I didn't want to deal with wirefly etc.
  17. yeah but we need to activate 2 phones and then combine them. on amazon, it says you can get the rebates on 1 phone, but then have to get the 2d phone at full price, and then have verizon add that phone.
  18. I'm in Ohio I just have the big box stores or amazon. I've been doing some reading and although wirefly etc have great deals, it's a headache to (try to) get the rebate. It looks like it's about $50 less to get it from amazon with $200 in rebates and the 2d one from ebay (yuk) vs getting 2 locally with no rebates.
  19. we want a 710 and a cheap phone for the family plan because it is going to be full price, as I understand it. Don't mind ebay but want a reasonably new model. Doesn't need all the bells and whistles. It's an occassional use we're adding to a family plan. also, I am aware of amazon's deal, but considering we need the 2d phone, is there a better option? also do the minutes offered under the plan vary by retailer?
  20. yes you will need a wireless router at home. your internet cable comes into that and then sends the signal out wirelessly and by cable to up to your computers. netgear and d-link are supposed to be the best. I have a netgear MR814v2 this whole year, and have had no prob at all. easy to configure. usually if I'm out, I look for places that offer free wireless, like Panera bread, or local cafes. You might be able to leach the signal from the car or outside the store. I have internet thru my cable company, it's always on, fast and flat rate. all those companies, SBC, Comcast, etc have internet. Ask your cable tv company.
