i'd be careful about used things, bec cats don't tend to like things that smell like other cats.. as least mine don't. if you're handy you can build one, i've seen blueprints for sale.

I probably should have used a better word than budget.. I was thinking about the max I would actually spend. I just don't see a lot out there that's compelling to buy, other than the freebie things like CDs that I could use, and other FAR things that I wouldn't buy unless they're free.

There's nothing I really want to upgrade. I'm not into watching tv, so a regular old fashioned one is ok for now until this one goes kafoozey. I'm not into the xbox so that's out.

I'll probably spend < $150 (and hopefully get most of that back in rebates).

yep, I usually only get the free things and make do with things like my 5 yr old tv. For gifts, I get more personal (ie not from officemax!) stuff. no kids to shop for!
