  1. Thanksgiving is volunteer. BF is mandatory. I shop do shopping first, come home and rest then go in and close. It's an extremely long day...but it's fun at the same time. I love BF!
  2. I agree.....sadly we weren't told much at the Holiday meeting. Mostly hours and just what to expect from crowds.
  3. As with most store, they can't possibly put EVERYTHING they have in the ad. It would be a catalog not an ad. Whether it's a typical Sunday ad or a Black Friday ad, they put the things that will get customers in the door, then "surprise" them with other sales. You go looking for X laptop but oh look...we've got these printers on sale too! It's the same for groceries. They can possibly list every single cereal, fruit, cheese, etc. No the list the big ones on sale so you come in the store in hopes that you will walk around more and buy more.
  4. I work for ON and yes this is just the door busters. Almost all retail stores just put their biggest things in the ad. There's always more stuff in the store on sale.
  5. I usually take between $500 - $700 on BF. It depends on the ads and what I am shopping for. I always bring about $150 - $200 extra because there are ALWAYS sales that don't make it into the ad. I shop with cash because then I can keep track of my budget and stick to it and not go crazy on little things. We are also buying the Nabi for our kids this year from Amazon. It would be awesome if they lowered the price since we are buying 2.
  6. You can also get more Target GC with their electronic buy back system. We've done that for 2 years and have received over $500 in GC. Last year I had over $310 in GC saved up between sales through the year and sending in old electronics.
  7. The power of positive thinking Brad!!!!!
  8. I love the sale and excitement. And of course spending all day with my best friend.

    Aeropostale

I agree....they have had 50% off for the last couple years on BF.
  10. Us too. We bought 2 bikes from Walmart for our little ones and they are still in great condition. They've actually outgrown them and are getting new ones this year. We keep ours in the garage as well.

    Justice

Yeah...not to impressed with buying anything from Justice on BF if they are just going to run the same sale that they run every day.
  12. We deep fry our turkey so we will put it in around 330 PM and eat around 5 PM. Then do pie around 630 PM and have some time to clean up and get ready to head out for BF...of course that depends on what time the stores open this year.
  13. Last year we did the rush at Target at midnight. Took FOREVER to check out. Did some other shopping and probably got to Vickies around 7 AM ( I think they opened at 5 AM) and there were still PLENTY of totes. There were not a lot of the the PINK shirts and yogas that they had priced for $25, but we were able to find some for our daughters in their sizes. The totes they usually have a crazy amount of. One year I was very pregnant and didn't do BF, but my husband took me in the afternoon because I really wanted the tote and it was still there.
  14. Wow. I guess I was expecting them to open at Midnight again this year. Opening at 10 would change some things for me. Hmmm...
  15. I wish ours was close enough to run in and check. But it's way out of the way and no where near where we go by. I am hoping to snag it in the paper this Sunday.
  16. Sweet!!!!! I was hoping that. We NEVER get the one in the mail and I need 4 books. Each one of my kiddos sits down and circles what they want and it really helps with lists.
  17. Hmm....it will be interesting. I understand that they are trying to appeal to a different market....but I'm curious to see if they will lose sales by not appealing to BF shoppers. It's the biggest shopping day of the year...whether you're Bloomingdales or Walmart.
  18. I always end up with PJ's or kitchen items. We do the tradition of opening Christmas Eve pj's to sleep in....but I always end up with more then that. Last year we got 2 sets of the Rubbermaid stack containers....which have almost completely disappeared during the year. I will be keeping an eye out for more of those. Grrr... I never thought about towels! We really, really need new towels. That will make it onto my list this year!
  19. We use cash to pay for everything for Christmas (unless it's online then we use our check card). We have had the same budget for the last 3 years and I don't think that will change this year. So far we have been able to get everything on "want" lists.
  20. This will be our third year. My mom bought this for my kids and we LOVE it! The elf has been about everywhere! Sometimes he's up to no good and hides in odd places like the pantry or the bathroom. He'll hide in the Christmas tree. Our elf comes out 12/1 and we read the story and all that. My kids look forward to this as well as Santa Tracker every year. I love holiday traditions!
  21. I think on BF it was 50% off if I remember correctly.....
  22. I forgot about those commercials....I LOVED them last year. I do hope they bring her back this year. Track suit and all!
  23. This was what I was looking for this year...or at least a decent bundle. But everything has been the 3D one...which I don't want at all.
  24. So I guess I'm confused now....Walmart has Just Dance 3 for $28 while Target has the same game for $39 with a $10 gift card (to be used on a later purchase)....so since it's not a door buster item and they open at the same time....would Target PM that item?? And would the gift card still be issued??? I also saw some Rubbermaid containers in the Walmart ad that I was going to pick up at Target if again they will price match. Neither of these are doorbuster items. The policy says they will if it's not a timed event and if it is the exact same thing.
