I went to the Oaks, PA Target today, and the kids soap/shave sets were finally at 50% off, so I went ahead and got them. The toys were still at 30-50% off, and had lots, so I'm going to hold out and hope they go 75% soon.
I guess they've taken the Christmas clearance to salvage, cuz I found 2 of the Trio Airplanes, which scanned at $0.00 -- I sucessfully talked the cashier into selling them to me for $0.49 each, but she was a bit reluctant.
I tried Walmart, but huge disappointment there. I got excited when I found a whole shelf of Viva holiday papertowels, but they scanned at regular price.
Yea...WM has been a disappointment for me too. Hardly any clearance toys and they can't be more than 30% off. Christmas clearance was almost nonexistent today but they did have about half an isle left. Made a huge announcement that nothing in holiday clearance would be more than $1. Had signs too. So excitedly ran over and picked up about 8 things. Get to the register and they all ring up OVER $1 but they were 75% off. I was pissed. So I was only paying a couple dollars more, but still. If they are advertising nothing over $1 they should at least mark the items to represent that. I love WM, but will certainly be doing my clearance shopping at Target from now on.

I went to the Targets at Belden, Arlington Rd and in Massillon, OH. It is nice to know someone else in the area! There were some toys that were 50% and some that were 30% at each of them. I didn't search extremely hard but did scan several things my kids might like some were 30 and some were 50....but I am trying to wait until 75%! I searched high and low at the xmas stuff but didn't find any of the great bargains of tape, paper towels and other goodies, maybe I will get lucky tomorrow but I think the snow might keep me away uggh.
Yea it is nice to have someone else in the area! I've been to the Arlington one, Wadsworth one, and the Belden one. And just like you, I haven't seen ONE of these other goodies everyone keeps talking about...the tape, oreos, pjs...nothing. Waiting for toys to go 75% off hopefully next week. I found the Wadsworth one had a nice selection of toys left as of last Saturday, but I haven't been since and didn't buy anything since it was still only 30%.
The Belden one had ONE Spike left, and if it is still hanging around at 75% I'm gonna be mad. lol.. Because I just picked it up at WM thinking there wouldn't be ANY left at Target at 75%...and I got it for 59.50. Although if it is still there, I may just consider getting it too for my littlest who will be 26 mos. next Christmas since I'm sure he'll be wanting his big brothers.
But I did see that had a ton of those My Toon Tv things left. At 75% they'll be 10 bucks. Hoping to pick a couple of those up.
Haven't been to the Arlington one in about a week. Did they have a decent selection left?

Thank you for the scan of the tape! I looked at 3 Targets in the Canton, OH area yesterday and was bummed to not find any! I only found a few xmas things 90% off and our toys were yesterday 50%. I will try to get out tomorrow if this blizzard doesn't hit uggh. I am new to this site, but not bargain hunting....I am enjoying finding the bargains.....
Wait wait...I went to the Target in Belden this morning and they were JUST marking some of the toys down to 50% at 11am. Which ones did you go to??

Damn. I assume those Playskool coupons aren't available anymore? I printed off a couple, used one...and threw the sit n spin one away since my local store didn't have it. Figured I didn't need it that bad...
But now I'm wishing I hadn't. I tried to get the coupons again, but it wasn't showing any available.

They sell mainly clubwear...and while I wouldn't wear half of the stuff they sell, you CANNOT beat the prices on their boots.
They have hundreds of boots and clothing up to 80% off right now and use code NEWYEAR30 for 30% off your entire order. Shipping is a bit high but I find the 30% more than covers it.
If your in need of some new boots, I HIGHLY suggest checking them out. I've ordered from them several times and they are pretty good quality.

Anyone else find it annoying that they are so secretive about when the toys will get marked down? I decided to ask an employee in toys today if she knew about when the toys would get marked down again (to 75%) and she told me she couldnt tell me that because she could get fired! UGH!! Ive ended up buying a few things at 50% even though it was a bit more than I wanted to spend (and I really would have liked the 75% off price) because they were the last one and I didnt want to miss out on them. I just really want to get there early the day things go 75% to try and get a few things that I want that there were a few left of. Ive been calling first thing every morning and im hoping they wont lie to me. Anyone else loosing sleep over this? Lastnight I had a dream I was shopping in target and some lady came and pushed in front of me to grab a bunch of stuff before me, HAHA, wow im so embarrased I just admitted that:D
Don't worry I have bargain-hunting nightmares myself....lol.
But anyways, I know what you mean about the markdowns. After calling every Target in my area last night, every single person told me they didn't know. But one nice lady explained that they don't tell employees because they don't want them telling family/friends...blah blah blah...but isn't the point of marking down toys to get them out of there anyways? lol...got me. But yea. It is annoying.

great find! Nice for a donation of some sort. I looked into project Linus as well and they only accept hand-made blankets, but I'm sure other organizations would happily take the donation.
That, to me, is a bit confusing. Why is that? You would think that they would accept anything they could get, especially considering people are more apt to go buy a blanket from a store than to handmake one?

YES! Thanks to whoever suggested Walmart! Your post inspired me to call around even MORE walmarts tonight and I found one 15 miles away that has THREE left at $59.50!! SOOOO psyched.

Our Target had Spike at $65...you might want to scan and not depend on any posted percent off signs...the GeoTrax set I bought was behind a 30% off sign, but was actually 50% off.
It'll even scan lower than the sticker price? Well, either way, the Targets I've called have told me he's 90.xx in their system...so I doubt if it'd scan lower. But one guy did tell me they'd be going to 50% in a "few days." Couldn't tell me when exactly apparently. lol...so I guess I have to wait it out and risk that ONE single spike they have left.

You should try the Walmart stores for the Spike dinosaur. I have had my eye on this also, but am unwilling to pay the high price. I bought it for $59.50 at Walmart last week!
Grrr....see I have been trying....and the 2 Walmarts I went to didn't have any left, and I've since been calling all over but NOBODY is EVER in TOYS to be able to answer my question. Just typical Walmart practice. No employee ever knows where anything is except for that ONE item they're stacking on the shelves.
Guess I'm just going to have to hit up a few more. I would be a VERY happy woman if I could find him for $59.50.

Does anyone have a rough estimate of when most stores' toys will go to 50%?
I am desperate to find Spike the dinosaur for less than the 90.xx it is now....but my problem is the pickings are slim. After calling around to about 7 different stores, I only found about 3 stores that have ONE left.
Just trying to get a rough idea of when I should go back. Going from store to store on the hunt wouldn't be so difficult without my 2 little ones!

wow, i have been looking for spike and i seen him the other day at wal-mart for 59 and didnt grab him and now they are sold out.....ughhh!! i will try target tomorrow! if anyone sees him again for that cheap i will happily pay you through paypal and pay shipping and all that good stuff..thanks you in advance guys!!!
All of our Walmarts are sold out of him too. The only Target I've seen him at....he was the only one left and was only at 30% off..
So...me too!!!!
If anyone finds him for around 50-60 bucks, I will gladly buy him off of you as well!

Went to Target in Wichita Falls, Texas this morning all excited for the 75% off Christmas. The only thing I ended up buying was .75cent wrapping paper and 1.49 bags of candy! Pretty bummed. Not much left that I was interested in. Was really wanting to find the tissues, towels, coffee, tape, etc that everyone else had blogged about. Waiting for the clearance toys to be truly CLEARANCED! 30% off is not much. My sons wanted that hugh remote controled dinosaur, Rex, which retails for near 139. Target clearance is 90.xx. To my suprise and delight, at walmart, these scan for 59.50 right now! Yea me!
Wait...are you talking about Spike the dinosaur or a different one? Curious because I haven't heard of one called "Rex" and the prices look to be about the same. Saw Spike at Target for $90.xx but am hoping to get him for lower than that.

Shoot, I'd be happy to find Spike under $75. I'm new to the whole clearance shopping thing but will definitely be on the lookout this year for him. Do you think Target is a better bet? I haven't been yet, but I know my WM had at least a pallet left.

My son will be 3 in about 3 weeks, and I wondered if anyone knew of any deals on Spike the DInosaur. I would love to get it for my son, but not for 129.

Yea, I'm trying to find him too for under $100 (would be nice) for my 3 year old for next Christmas. I was hoping he would come down quite a bit after Christmas because of the leftover stock. So far no luck it looks like. I know Toysrus had him for $89 a few days ago? I should have picked it up then. :-/

Since the kids sizes run a size small, the size 13 heelys would be good for when your son is in a size 12 shoe. I would say get them while they're cheap! They can always be put away till your son fits into them.

I am becoming obsessed with this site. I don't know if I'm spending MORE money because I'm buying so much crap on sale, or if I'm actually saving anything. LOL.

Would these be okay for a 4 year old? I am dying to get a pair since theyre so cheap but my 3 year old won't be 4 until next Nov. I know he'd love them, but I know he's still a bit too young and his coordination probably isn't good enough yet. The smallest size they have is a 13, and since he's rather on the large side for his age, he's already in a size 10. Think a size 13 would be okay for his 4th birthday? TIA for the advice!
