Another in KY in Harrodsburg. The Hamburg store in Lexington is nothing exciting. Went in for a few things this morning-Deans milk was 4.03 a gallon, store brand was 3.00. I'll stick to the Meijer stock up prices at 1.95 this week. Also noticed many produce items were rotten already-the store has only been opened 3 days???? Once was enough, I'll be back at Meijer in the future.

Macy*s to close some stores!!!
dswright replied to sigrist_2000's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I used to never shop at Kaufmann's when I lived in Ohio. I practically live in Macy's now. A problem may be that even though it is one big company now, the ads are still regional. My parents live 300 miles away, I'll call them to buy a paper for a 10 off 25 coupon. They'll call back and say it isn't going on here. -
Our Kohls stopped the additional percentage off also. Really miss those Clearances--hopefully they are monitoring my Kohls CC usage as we don't spend nearly as much there anymore. I'm glad KY is not the only state-I took the "We do the math for you" to mean us uneducated rednecks can't figure out what half off of 10.00 would actually cost.

does it seem like all the retail stores sorta gave up today?

Some newspapers do not print on Christmas Day-that would be the reasoning for some ads today with the majority tomorrow. -
The ECBs automatically print out--also, it is 5.00 per day, not just a 1 time deal. I used my card each of the 4 days of the email for a local newspaper, and got 20.00 in extra bucks for doing it.
-
Received a flyer in the mail yesterday-10 off 25 for next Tuesday and Wednesday.
-
I bought a .50 newspaper in KY and got the 5.00 EB. None of my other EB's printed out though.

I noticed quite a bit on clearance today, including several types of boys action figures at 90% off. They were mixed in the regular toy department. This is the Hamburg/Lexington KY location.
-
Quite a few racks throughout the boys department-actually the entire clothing area had clearance racks throughout. I was there around 10:30 Friday morning. The Lexington, KY Macy's did not have much in the 8-20 boys department, but had great deals for baby clothes and younger kids.
-
Boys Greendog dress pants size 8-20-marked down to 4.49. That's cheaper than the Goodwill. Reebok wind pants 7.00. Several racks of 75% off items-many winter items included. Teams of employees were marking things down as I shopped. Used 10 off 30 that came by mail. This was Kenwood Mall in Cincinnati.

Kohl's tips and deals - New clearance 2/12 and 2/13

My store gives everyone the extra 15% off since many have complained the discount is discriminatory. I just wish the additional percent off discount would come back instead of the new lowest price is on the ticket policy. -
I bought some pullstring Jesus dolls to donate.

Meijer-about 30 mins Kohls-about an hour Disney Store-gave up Target-gave up Wal Mart-walked up CVS-walked up Evening Macy's-walked up Kohl's-5 minutes
-
Worst-Target-disorganized lines that wrapped around the store-not nearly enough product in stock. Best-Meijer-LOVE the fact that limits are imposed and quantity is listed in the ad.

It't not the nesepaper supplying all of the ads, the ad agencies do not order or send enough to cover the entire circulation of the paper for some reason. Many papers also zone ads by zip codes, based on where the advertiser wants the ads to go. The paper I worked at had a circulation of 13,000, but very few advertisers ever sent 13,000 ads. Most sent between 4,000 and 10,000 and were sent out to home delivered customers closest to their stores. Priority went to home delivery first, stores second, and vending boxes 3rd. I get the Lexington, KY paper at home, did not recieve the Comp USA ad, but I live 20 miles from the store. Went to Lexington closer to the store and bought a paper with the ad inside, along with Big Lots and several others. If you are looking for a different ad, check the other side of town, they likely have it.

Black Friday Different Next Year? Please Share Your Thoughts!
dswright replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2006
The bet here is that retail stores will continue to open earlier each year, Wal Mart and Kohls opened at 6 last year, now it is 5. I don't see much before midnight though, as employees would have to be paid time and a half for the holiday. Deals may start to fade as more and more of us are buying things on BF due to low cost, then nobody shops the stores until the last minute rush the week before Christmas. -
batteries at CVS, milk at Meijer
-
No B1G1 in the Cincinnati or Lexington, KY areas. Many clearance items at 75% off though, some with another 40% on top of that.
-
Verizon no doubt about it. Still waiting for a rebate from May 2005 on a phone purchased. I have called 14 times totalling nearly 5 hours of phone time, 2 visits to the nearest store location totalling 96 miles. Still waiting and tired of the runaround. I usually send 4-6 rebates out per month for various items, with no problems at all, until these idiots came along.
-
Any further updates on the $10.00 coupon-including hours that it can be used, along with the availability nationwide. In the past, the east coast has received 10 off anything, where KY has received 10 off 25.
-
Remember that on Black Friday you get the 10 dollar certificate when you spend 50-going to combine with the 15% off coupon and wait til BF.

Soo tell us your shopping plans?? For the Big Day?

Same two here also. -
Had pics done today-undoubtedly the best family photo experience out there. We have used Olan Mills, Wal Mart, and Penneys in the past-for about the same price, the pics turned out well-we had the pics taken, chose what we wanted, and were out the door with the product within an hour and 45 minutes. Our appointment was set in mid-Oct though. If you want Christmas pics done on a weekend, book now. The 9.99 special is quite a deal-each 3 sheet setting was an additional 16.50, no sitting fees, plus the CD and special borders. We will definitely be back.
-
By far the best ad out there, hands down. We'll be in line before opening like always. Meijer may be close competition though when posted. Things were looking a little down when the most exciting thing previous to Kohls was .66 Coke, .88 Kleenex, and .99 razors at CVS.
-
Sleeping in here too at this point-VERY disappointed in the ads so far. Meijer, Kohls, Macys, and CVS are not posted though, we did 90% of our black friday shopping there last year.
