  1. Sorry, I didn't mean that it takes 3-4 days each way but usually 3-4 days total. 8 day turnaround would not be acceptable to me too. If that is how long it is taking then I would contact both Gamefly and my post office and maybe something can be figured out that is going wrong. If that was the normal shipping time Gamefly couldn't stay in business very long.
  2. Yea, Netflix only does movies. They have been around a lot longer and have been able to open more distribution centers than Gamefly, which probably accounts for a quicker delivery. But Gamefly shipping times for us have been fine. It is usually about a 3-4 day turnaround. I'm in Washington and my nearest shipping center is Los Angeles, which is pretty good for that distance. Not sure why others are having a different experience. I actually got turned onto Gamefly by an old high school friend of mine that now lives in New Hampshire and he has about the same shipping time as me. The only thing I would say is try out one of their deals that they're running for the holidays and test it out for yourself.
  3. I believe that after several months the option to have more games will become available. I have the option for up to a 4-game plan but I've had them for almost a year now. Shipping times have been good for us too and with all the holiday games coming out my kids are about to explode.
  4. I remember watching one of those investigative news programs awhile back and it reported that some stores (not all) would have a different price at the register than what was marked or would actually set up displays that placed more expensive items near less marked down items assuming that most patrons do not look as the items are being rung up or look at their receipt later. I've learned to always look over my receipt before leaving any store (clothing, grocery, etc...) to make sure this has not happened to me.
  5. Yea, it should have a memory card with it and that will be fine for now but if he is going to be playing a lot of different games then you might want to look into a hard drive.
  6. Glad to help. Hope it works as well for you as it has for us.
  7. Just went on site to find it. The easiest way to find the gift certificates is to go all the way to the bottom of the home page where it as all the different categories. Also heres the link: http://www.gamefly.com/Gift-Certificate/ Hope this works.
  8. We use our credit card because we get miles with it. But we try to set up a limit for the days spending and normally stick to it pretty well.
  9. We started up with Gamefly last year when I bought a gift certificate for the kids for Christmas and liked it so much we still have it. This time of year is a good time because they offer discounts off the subscription price with Gift Certificates. If you're thinking of signing up I would definitely check it out. Cant' remember how much the discount is but could find a link if you're interested. With two consoles it gives us cheap access to all their games and if I decide to buy one they have good deals. Also free shipping for members.
  10. I have Sirius and the Christmas music is up and running. I like channel 4, oldies Christmas music.
  11. Good to know I have a dog and getting a new cat.
