Walmart Black Friday Event #1 (11/11 to 11/17)
bribri25 replied to Brad's topic in Black Friday Discussion
I'd have grabbed a $5 Grinch squishmallow!! That was probably on page 743; I stopped at page 4. -
I miss having a finite list of items that we could type up each year and utilize a search feature across the ads to compare items. Now, it spans 7 weeks and 10,000 items that is just unreasonable to manage/follow the items and the sale intervals.
-
Really difficult to pass up FREE
-
I've only been to Menards in the recent years and that wasn't anywhere near what it was 7 years ago, but there were hundreds of people in line 30 minutes before store opening. I'll be interested to see what this year brings if I go out again.
-
A number of these sale items are already at the sale price (including limited time promo codes). Some are the sale price, but no promo code, yet.
-
I haven't bothered buying a paper because it was so minimal a couple years ago.
-
Very true! There's a plethora of other discounts that I don't take near enough advantage of...

@len_mullen After browsing the NewEgg ad, I'm highly considering CPU upgrade (+ required MoBo) and wanted to get your thoughts. I have NVidia 4070 GPU, and 4th Gen Intel (don't laugh). I primarily use Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro. I've read that Intel has slight advantage (with NVidia GPU) with codecs in Premiere, but probably negligible. I've always had Intel, but the 13th/14th Gen snafu has me considering AMD. I don't think I need top of the line, but upgrade is probably overdue; looking at 13th Gen i7 (or AMD equivalent). What's your thoughts on AMD vs Intel and which generation? Then, a compatible MoBo with Thunderbolt for my external drive? Especially with deals coming up that you may know of, as well Thanks!

What’s on your Black Friday shopping list?

Wife likes the creami. Like most small appliances, it gets used heavily in the short term after purchase, but has recently mostly collected dust for 30 of 31 days in a month. -

There's also the option of just getting a monitor, keyboard, and mouse (and docking station if you want it to still be mobile); all of which you'll have to buy for a desktop; and continue to use the laptop, but now as a desktop -
You get the discounted gas prices just by being a member (which is the benefit I was referring to). The credit card also gets you 4% on gas anywhere, which is probably worth it (no annual fee with membership), but also lots of credit cards have rewards on gas so it advocating for that as much. There's also 3% on restaurant and travel, and 2% back on Costco warehouse.
-
You really think the waiting for those is over? I'm thinking to be that close to the front, it's at least 2-3 hours. Interested to hear how it goes for people.
-
The savings on the price of gas at Costco far surpasses any annual membership fee. It's at least $.20 less power gallon and at 15 gallons and a tank a week, that's $150 savings just to get your gas at Costco.

I'll have to compare water softener salts. Not something that ever goes on sale, but maybe not worth $1 off 2. -
