Be careful with this case because the only one that Otterbox has listed on their web site says NOT compatible with Samsung Galaxy Tab 2:
Compatibility:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0
NOT compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Tab, 7.0+, 7.7, 8.9, 10.1
NOT compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, 7.0, 10.1
So it seems they are only good for the first version of the Galaxy Tab. It doesnt seem like Otterbox makes one for the new version. Bummer..I love their cases.

We are getting my 5 & 8 year olds the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 this year. Does anybody recommend a good, durable case? I did look at the otterbox cases but they are $70 a piece!!!

Try checking for an Otterbox on eBay. They are defiantly the best cases especially for young kids.

Looking to get my son the Samsung Galaxy or Asus. Have been reading the reviews for both and they say there is not Adobe Flash at all and/or when the updates load Adobe Flash is not on the updates. We use skype a lot since we have family out of state. Is there a way around that?
Adobe has stated that they will no longer be making mobile Flash. There will be another way to do it though, I just don't know what it is cuz I don't use it.

ok, so question, it seems alot of people like that Galaxy has ability to expand with SD, but I don't know much about that....how do I know when I need the card, does it say no memory left? And aren't you worried somehow SD could get damaged? I have concerns about carrying these SD's around with 100's of songs on them, etc..
I plan on getting a 32gb SD card and just leaving it in the tablet. If its anything like my Android phones then you can get an app called AppToSD and then you can move any app that will let you to the SD card. Plus I'm sure you can store pictures, music and movies on there. It's better than my DDs iPod that's 8gb and is so full I can't even update it till she deletes some apps.

I did not know they have it at Walmart?? I wonder if I could get a friend who works there to buy it fo rme. That would be awesome. Walmart matches ads on BF right I wonder if they would match Office Depot or Sears (not doorbusters) and then have a friend pruchase for me...
Just checked and my store has it in stock. I also checked BB and Office Depot and they have the Tab 2 for $199 also. BB is in Silver and Office Depot and Walmart are in Black. The one offered on BF at BB is white. Thinking I should get to Walmart tomorrow.
Yup I checked Walmart and Target cuz I have family members that work there. I like the white on but it's for my kids anyway so black is ok too. Anything to get a deal and avoid BF right now is awesome. Lol

I really like the Galaxy Tab especially it has Android 4.0, 2 cameras and you can increase memory if needed. The price of $180 on BF is awesome for the 8gb. For another $20 you can get a sd card 16gb or more and put it in. One of the reasons I don't like the Kindle Fire is that it does not have full android, most apps are from Amazon (does have a fairly good selection) but I like being able to use the best of both worlds (reason I don't like Apple products).
This is exactly my thinking. DD asked for a Kindle Fire and DS asked for a tablet. Honestly DD wouldn't know the difference. Lol. Are any of the Galaxy Tabs going to be online BF? I'm 9 months prego so unless I have this baby in the next week then I'll be shopping online. I may go to SAMs either way cuz I want 2 Galaxy S IIIs and they have the Tabs there too.

I don't think so. It also only has a front facing camera no rear facing. Those are the reasons I won't get it. I use the rear facing camera a lot more than I would use a front facing camera and I also want the option to add memory card for more storage space even if I don't use it.

I have gone back and forth regarding these tablets, like so many of us...now I am leaning toward nexus 7 too, I heard somewhere that the 32 was going down to 199, but obviously that person was wrong because today I found numerous articles online that said the 16 went down to 199.. I really didn't want to go above 200 for this purchase... maybe I am just gonna do eenie, meenie, miney, moe... LOL
Do you know about how many songs/movies 16 GB holds?
Does the Nexus have expandable memory?

Ok so I think I'm down to a Kindle Fire HD or a Samsung Galaxy 2. I decided the HD over the Fire just cuz it has double the memory. The Galaxy only has 8gb but it has expandable storage. Ugh. Decisions decisions.

Just got home from picking mine up, I am happy to say it is the 2nd generation one, I had to do some searching to confirm this.
the 1st generation was operating system 6.3.1
2nd generation current system is 10.2.1, the version on mine is 10.1.1 so it just needs the latest update installed.
That's what I though. Glad you got the deal. Now to have TRU put my $255 back in my account. Lol.

I notices that RadioShack is giving $10 back in store coupon for each $50 spent. FireHD plus something that costs a penny gets you $40 back (maybe get a battery, fuse, or bag of tie wraps). Seems like a good deal.

The Nexus doesn't have expandable (Micro SD) memory either, but does come in 16 and 32 GB versions. For expandable memory, the Galaxy Tab has it.
No but if I can get a 16gb Nexus cheaper than a Fire HD I might want to do that since its a true Android and not held back by Amazon.

What difference does that make? THe original one didn't have ads at all. On the new one you can opt out easily and they dont get in way anyway. You can still charge with the usb and it's a better upgraded model. My son had the old one and it is great. His came with a wall charger, but we use our phone charges most of the time since they are already plugged in.
Cuz the new one has a faster processor and a camera. And I'm not spending that kind of money on last years model.

You may not regret not getting it. I almost jumped at that to get it for my ds, and my siblings and I are getting my parents a kindle fire for christmas, so I was thinking of getting two. My sister said my brother wants to get the newer one, but I don't like having to pay to remove ads, and having to buy an adapter. My sister said she is on her second original kindle fire (she only got it last Christmas), because the adapter sucks and doesn't work well with the unit. And there is no camera at all, which is a must for my ds. And she has a friend who has the exact same issues with hers, and she has since read that this is a frequent problem. Sounds like it would end up costing more in the long run...
I was under the impression that is was the "new" Kindle Fire not the "original" one.

So sorry to hear that, and I regret not trying to get it, I was worried about rushing into it, and not buying from Amazon, and now I need to hope and pray an equal or better deal comes along or I am gonna have Big time regret about this--I was actually ONLINE when deal was posted, sooo many times I miss the deal... but I couldn't make up my mind. DOH!
I was worried I'd regret buying them. Lol. I also would rather buy from Amazon cuz they sound great to deal with plus might want to get the the HDs just for the fact that they have more storage. DDs iPod is an 8gb and can't even update cuz she out of room. Also now the ads are out I want to research the Nexus more. I guess I have more time to think about it now.

Anyone have any experience with this brand case for a Kindle Fire?
I'm trying to see how much accessories would run me if I were to pick these up for my kids.
Any other accessories I should look at? I know I'd need to pick up the charger when I ordered the Kindle Fire.

Please help..... Walmart.com has both both an HKC 7 inch tablet for $99 and a Mach Trio 7 inch Stealth for $ 89. Which one is best based on the specs, app system etc??
I've never heard of either so I'd have to go with neither.

NEVER purchase anything that says "capacitive" touchscreen. That mean you have to press down for it to work. Horrible and sooo outdated. Please don't buy this.
