Ok, I don't understand how to add more lights to a spinning tree and not have issues with the cords. Again, I have not seen a spinning tree so I have no visual to go with.
-
OMG that s so funny! I've never heard of a spinning tree. I loved to see one but I don't think I'd like it in my own house. I can just see my kids standing in one spot rearranging the ornaments each time they come around.

might WM ad be delayed due to pre-sales of Harry Potter DVD?

So when it was leaked did they add another add (more stuff) or changed the add altogether? -
It's 12am to 1pm. So that is a 13 hour sale. I'm just unhappy that one sale starts at midnight, then another at 5am. The item I want is at 5am and there is no way I'm going in at 4-5 am for that one item if the lines are already super long.

Although there is not much I'm in the market for because I'm done shopping, there are several great deals to be had. Some that stood out to me are: Polly Pocket Ship for $19.99 Star Wars AT-TE for $49.99 Wii Nerf-N-Strike for $14.99 Geo Trax Train Set $10

See to me this is not a frivilous gift, this is more like winning a really great poker hand or a smaller lottery. But you're right, I was thinkiing on the small end with a Kindle.

My 5yr old son loves Cars Mator-National. My 6yr old son loves all the Lego character games, Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Star Wars and Lego Batman. All my kids like Wii Music, Cooking Mama, and Rayman Raving Rabbids.

probably a Kindle

I could always feel Kevin's frustration and injustice. But with what, 5 kids of your own and a mooching B-I-L and his family, I could see how she would be overwhelmed and not in her right mind. Now me in that situation would automatically side with the baby in the family and get after the older kids. But I guess every family is different.

I'm feel the same! Why oh why do I get them more toys?! We had a huge garage sale last summer and sold a ton of toys, there is already another pile in the garage for next summers garage sale and there rooms are still a mess with toys all over the floor. I plan to really clear out again before X-mas. I just can't stand it! DD 8 - Zhu Zhu hamster & some accessories, portable DVD player, Polly Pocket plane, MAYBE another Webkinz DS 6 - Zhu Zhu hamster & some accessories, star wars ship, K'Nex, Wii Nerf game DS 5 - Zhu Zhu hamster & some accessories, star wars ship, Pixar Mac truck, Lightning McQueen race track DD 3 - Zhu Zhu hamster & some accessories, Dr. Kit, FP Loving Family horses, 4ft rag doll (hopefully from Kmart on BF)

I almost broke down and bought a green carrier on ebay but I just couldn't pay $10.50 + $2.80 shipping for something that cost $5. Then the next green carrier that I was watching went for $25.00 + $2.80 shipping!!! I haven't checked ebay since.

My 6yr old son has asked for K'nex for X-Mas as well. I will only buy the tubs not the large sets and after reading what the others have said, I don't think I'll ever buy the larger ones. We're getting the Creepy Crawler tub http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10196651. I won't invest money in something like Lego's (which he also wants) until he can prove that he can keep the little pieces of the K'Nex picked up.

Suppose a big box of fish crackers under the tree wouldn't work? I think the gift card is a great idea. Then he knows he's getting his fish and he has all the fun of picking it out. My daughter is obsessed with Zhu Zhu's and is absolutely sure that Santa is bringing her one. When I ask her what if Santa doesn't bring her one, she gets this look of shock and horror on her face.
-
OMG, I never thought of that. I'm looking forward to the time when my daughter is old enough to go with me, I never thought about a time after that where she won't want to go with me.

considered drop kicking... I'd consider it too after buying 3 DS's, they sell them and then one wants it again. I won't re-buy things or pieces of a collection that my kids had at one time and decided to get rid off or sell at a garage sale. Play Mobil is a big one, we had tons of sets and the pieces were all over the house. I warned my boys that if they didn't pick them up I was getting rid of them. They were fine with me getting rid of them. Now they are asking for more, Oh, and Matchbox Mega Rig toys too. Had a bunch, got rid of them and now they are asking for more. NO WAY! I regret most of the toys I buy. The My Size Barbie that was $10 at Walmart last BF. The Hot Wheels city that was $20. I didn't need them and they turned out to be a waste of money.

I agree with some of the others, nothing has dropped my jaw. Now if I could find an add with $5 Snuggies...that might be jaw dropping for me.
-
I'm agreeing with you. I have been really unimpressed with most of the adds including Targets. The only one that looks interesting is K-Mart and I've never been to K-mart on BF before.... go figure. Oh, and thanks Brad for all your hard work :)

My special way is not nearly as complicated as yours ... I have my mom come over and cook it. It works out really well, IMO. Someday I'll have to learn how to do it, but I'm putting it off as long as I can.
-
Does it start this early every year? and thanks for the heads up, I've set tonights to my DVR. :)
-
I still go the same # but as they get older it will be based more on $ amount. My oldest is starting to ask for electronics and as the get to be more expensive electronics, etc., the # of gifts will go down.

Yes! Every single year. I'm usually done shopping by the end of October but always see good deals and just keeping going. Then I end up with too much stuff and think it's no big deal because I can use it for B-Days or next X-mas. Well B-Day and next X-mas come around and the present seems a bit outdated for their interests or they are asking for totally different stuff! So then I save the stuff for friends B-Day presents or they end up in the garage sale. I've got to stop!
