  1. Re:  the frozen doll...it was a large doll (like 2 feet tall).  They had other princesses, too, but I didn't stick around to see if those got marked down to 70% off.  The doll doesn't look like a baby...it is "adult" Anna but in doll form.  :)  Will try to get a photo when I get home tonight.  Like I said...it was only 50% off, but there were just two left and it was the only thing in the whole clearance section that my daughter really wanted.   It was $24.

    ETA:  It's this one.  Apparently it's 18" size (not 2 feet).  :)

Good to know she'll fit my daughter's Our Generation doll wardrobe.

That is an AWESOME find. I tried to buy that doll at full price back in December and it was sold out then, still is everywhere by me! Congrats!

  2. I got my haul today. All the big things I wanted were still only 50% off but I grabbed 3 of them anyway ( princess and me cinderella, frozen anna sleigh, and a beyblade thing) I needed the beyblade for a bday party gift, and my daughter gets the other 2. Everything else I got was smaller things but will be great for easter baskets. I will come back later and list everything. I was excited rto get one big score at 70%. Barbies mega block( was a huge package , same as lego friends for 17.00!!)

  3. Both of my stores used to do it in the morning super early. Now one of my stores starts a little after opening and the other doesn't do it until the afternoon. However, that could change at any point. I find target markdowns to not be as scheduled like they used to be! So I would say just keep checking but start in the morning. I am planning on running in to check tomorrow but I doubt it will be the day. I'm holding out hope for next week, the following week I have company and don't want to be running around different targets...

  4. I am about 80% done with shopping, 60ish% done with wrapping and still have all my baking to do.....I have been sick almost non stop since October so it has been hard to get everything done...but I am feeling better this week so hoping to be 100% done with all shopping/wrapping by noon next Friday when my kids start break and then do alot of baking the weekend/week of Christmas..

  5. I always hope to spend about 2500.00 total but I often end up going over as I have a lot of people to buy for. I usually spend about 300 per child ( I have 3) and 100 per niece/nephew ( I have 6). Then on everyone else it all depends what I know they would really like. I do shop year long though so I dont feel it all at once, I also save a little bit each month in our savings so very little of it comes out of paychecks in nov-dec since we usually spend extra those months on holiday activities. Anything left goes on credit card that gets paid off with income taxes in Jan since I do our taxes right away.

  6. Husband REALLY wants a smartwatch. Best buy will have it on bf as same price they have it now but with a 20.00 gift card. Do these type of offers usually go online? Or store only? Is it worth waiting just for the giftcard? Anyone have this and know if it is actually a good product? THANKS!

  7. Ok, what I usually do is have a spread sheet of everyones name and what I bought them. Each person in my house has their own wrapping paper so I know it is for them. On the back of the gift very small I write the number listed on my spreadsheet so I know what is inside each box. Paper never gets wrinkled. AS far as gifts for others that dont live here I wrap the gifts and make sure I put the to/from tag on or I would forget..lol

  8. No! And, I'm bummed about it. I always joked about BF being my holiday =) But in all seriousness I would never give up Thanksgiving for it. I love shopping, the tradition of going out, the feeling of the holidays officially being here but not the craziness it is turning into. I will still go out and have a great time at my regular time on Friday and if I miss stuff I don't really care. The part that bothers me is that I have a choice and some don't. Some cannot just say so what if I miss a big deal because they might be on a very limited budget and the only way to give their kids Christmas is by bf deals. I can say I will just spend family time on Thanksgiving and go out at my leisure but some are being forced to work and in some stores the majority of the holiday and have no choice. For those saying that people should just get another job if they dont like it are CRAZY! They are working because they need it I'm sure and cannot just get another job. So what bothers me the most is that many are not thinking of others on the one day of the year where we are supposed to think about others the most! So I am sad for me that the Black Friday magic is fading but I'm more sad for others who have to lose out on the magic of Thanksgiving because of it...

  9. I agree, its terrible! A 5pm opening is just wrong! I actually thought the ad was decent based on their previous years ads. They added some hot toys on there which they never do. But, I still will not go out on Thanksgiving, no money is worth that...Im tired of these early hours, they are taking the fun out of BF! It cant even be called that anymore since EVERY store seems to be opening on Thursday....smh

  10. I cook "dinner" and around noonish family comes over , we hang out , have a drink or two, some appetizers and just continue cooking. dinner is usually around 3pm. By the time we have dinner and I clean up it is usually around 5ish. Then we have dessert and coffee. I try to be all cleaned up around 6-7ish. We used to catch a few hour nap until 11pm. Then we would hit midnight madness at the outlets, go to kmart when they still opened at a "normal" time and then drive to have breakfast somewhere yummy! We would then drive to the mall and hit all of those stores and toys r us. Then get back home with about a million bags and pass out for a few hours. Wake up to tons of yummy leftovers and some more family time.

My husband always braved the crazy stores for me ( like target and walmart) if there was something in there I really needed but now with online shopping and crazy opening times I dont really make him go out anymore.

The only exception was last year since my bf best friend buddy was in Canada visiting his sister. So last year I just slept in until 4am and hit the mall at 5am since I didnt want to be out in the dark alone. Still got almost everything on my list =)

So this year we are sticking to our regular traditions and I feel confident we will still get everything we need without sacrificing any family time =)

  11. This is the worst big book I have seen in 11 years! It is usually where I stock up on most of the toys my kids want. Their bf ad has cheaper deals but never on the newer toys. Thank goodness I have been buying a little bit here and there on sale...wow....still really shocked by how bad this is!
