  1. Use the code CELEBRATE to earn 50 points. If anyone knows of any other codes, I would love to have them! -amber
  2. I thought that rebate form could only be used with reciepts from Toys R Us. I could have sworn I read that on there...
  3. Our local Walgreens will not be marking Christmas items down to 75% off. Instead, they are packing it up, to sell next year. I asked after I noticed a manager packing Christmas items up. Don't know that all stores are doing it, but this one is! I guess I need to check with our other 3 Walgreens stores and see if they're doing the same thing. I really wanted some of those cute hairbows for stocking stuffers, but not at 50% off. Anyone else's store packing it up instead of marking it down?
  4. It's the regular Walgreen ad that comes out in Sunday's paper, and yes they normally have copies in the store.
  5. Actually, I agree with this. The major reason I went ahead and bought a DS for myself was because it would play the GBA games, which I had a bunch of. I have not seen any good deals on them since Wal-Mart's black Friday Sale.
  6. Went searching for them today, and out of 4 Walgreens stores in my town, only one had any left. Bought 20 b/c I had my unclle check out some of them. If your store has sold out of them, ask for a rain check. I got rain checks at the other three stores! And before anyone thinks I've lost my mind for buying so many - I use them as birthday and Christmas gifts for my students. -amber
  7. How about a Kooky? http://www.thekookys.com/kookystore/ I own one and I use it for the short stories I write. I think mine's a 2 GB, but it's plenty large enough for what I use it for. Office Depot has them on sale for either $9.99 or $12.99 this week, can't remember which.
  8. Our Walgreens has them for $12.99, I noticed it earlier today. I don't remember seeing it in the sale ad, so it may just be a special for some stores. You might want to check into it though.
  9. As a teacher, (although not a male one) I can say that gift certificates to teacher supply stores are always greatly appreciated. If you don't have a local teacher supply store, then would suggest Wal-Mart (as they have practically everything) or maybe Best Buy. If you're looking for something other that gift certificates... maybe some homemade fudge or cookies.
  10. Didn't start my shopping trip till 10AM this morning. There was absolutely nothing in the ads worth getting up at 3/4/5/6AM for. Wal-Mart- sold out of most of the items I was most interested in (DS Games, MP3 Player, board games) not that that surprised me. I ended up with a new coat for my grandmother ($35 coat that I got for $15 after speaking with the manager because it looked JUST like the ones in the ad but did not ring up correctly.) Also got some snowboots for $20, they were so much better than the $7 ones in the ad. My uncle picked up 3 of the $2 movies and a pair of the $7 snowboots for himself. Office Max - I got the Brother Label Maker for $9.99. I've been wanting one of these for a long time! I'm quite excited. I would never pay the $39.99 reg price for a labelmaker. Kohl's- I got the Fuzzy clog style house shoes (can't remember the brand name at the moment) for $9.99, reg. $22 My major disapointement, I wanted several of the $5 board games Wal-Mart had on sale (Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader, Life, ect.) but obviously, those go really really quick! Maybe I'll find 'em somewhere else at a decent deal. For a first time black Friday shopper, I guess I didn't do bad.
  11. I'm in West TN, and there was no WM black friday ad in our paper today. However, we did get the Freds Black Friday ad. And there may have been a Dollar Store ad, I can't remember for sure.
  12. I really, really, really, really want an 8 or 16 GBIpod nano. The shuffle is just too small, I'd lose that think in a day! I don't need a touch screen or a phone on it, just something that will play this endless amount of music I have! Alas.. a $150 item and I can't even come close to affording it.. Ah well... TTFN, amber
  13. I have no idea what to buy! My family is so hard to buy for! I'm maybe 30% done.
  14. I actually saw this this morning and was coming to post about it. Great minds think alike. :) I'm considering getting this one for myself. Haven't quite decided yet, and by the time I do they'll probably be sold out!
  15. We have rotating tree. We got it at K-Mart a several ago when they first became popular (and reasonably priced.) It's either 6 or 6.5 foot, and is quite fat. I think we paid around $89-99 for ours on sale. The base spins allowing the tree to rotate, it's not speedy and in the 6-7 years we used it no ornaments ever fell off, and it still works great. We can't use it now because it gets in the way of my grandfather's walker (our living room is TINY.) I had to buy a smaller tree last year. Our new one's still a 6 foot, but it's skinnier. They had a 40% off sale at Target last year. This conversation makes me want to put up our tree. Actually, I am going to put up the Christmas decoration in my bedroom tommorrow, including my tree. Just have to figure out whether I'm going to use the 3ft or 4ft tree! Long story short, the rotating trees are really cool but you need a larger space in order to use them effectively. Tiny living rooms do not cut it! :)
  16. Anyone know if the Phillips 4GB MP3 player is any good? ($29)
  17. Yeah, our Wal-Mart had a TON of Halloween stuff left too. I couldn't believe how much merchandise was available before the holiday and I knew there would be a ton left after Halloween. Wal-mart was sent WAY too much merchandise this year. This happened with school supplies last year at our store, and they marked it down to awesome prices, since I was teaching last year I really hit the jackpot. I noticed this year, they didn't have nearly as much school supplies leftover, so it'll probably be that way with Halloween next year. So, get it while it's available because I'd be willing to bet it won't happen again next year. TTFN, amber
  18. Hey guys, just thought I'd spread the word that our local Wal-Mart was marking down all Halloween to 75% off this afternoon. Candy was still 50% off though. Those 20 packs of mini-playdough had been marked down to $1.00!!! (Reg. $4.00) A light up Jack-O-lantern I picked up was $1.50!! My uncle found a skeleton mask for $2.00 that had been $8.00 Since I'm out of a job at the moment, I had to resist everything but the Jack-O-Lantern, but man did I wish I had more money. There were sooo many good deals to be had. They had TONS of stuff left! TTFN, Amber
  19. Is anyone else having trouble signing up for the texts? I can't get the site to work. I keep getting the "internet explorer cannot display this webpage" error. when I use the link listed above.
