  1. Oh, and the TOYS...I hadn't peeked yet but WOW. The selection this year is GREAT. I saw tons of stuff that I would want at 75% off. Woo! (Most was still 30% off, but a few things 50% off).
  2. Still 75% off at the Ward Parkway store in KC...and I was shocked at how much is still there. I finally found some "useful" items...a pack of green Chinet cups for $.74 (St. Patty's Day!) and some packing tape.
  3. Wow...you really dislike people who return things! Some of what you said I agree with, but some of it I think is not a big deal. You will find a LOT of people here who will return items they bought at 50% off because they found that same item at 90% off. And what is wrong with that? It's the same thing as a price match. And it's not like you can do that with EVERYTHING you buy because there is so little left at 90% off. If Target price matched clearance, it would be the same thing. I think it's just smart shopping. And the guy who returned the flood lights...what's the big deal? Maybe he intended to decorate his house, but didn't for some reason (sickness, etc). Maybe he bought too many accidentally. If he had a receipt, it's his right to return them. Not a big deal. The cheese thing I agree with. Even if the lady had brought them straight from her fridge, they can't resell any food merchandise that is returned, since they have no idea what she did to it while she had it. They have to throw it away even if you buy it, wheel over to customer service, and return it. That is why most grocery stores don't let you return things unless they are defective/spoiled when you buy them. I never return food to Target for any reason other than defectiveness (which never happens). And really...what you mentioned is the tip of the ice berg when it comes to return policies. They are really there because of rings of people who tried to make a full time profession of buying things and returning them for profit. It's not the average customer doing a return or two, or even the people who return clearance items that these policies are directed at...it's all about these scammers.
  4. It depends on the state you live in and the laws there. In Missouri and Kansas they must give you back the amount you paid if you have a receipt. However, in some states you only get the current or last selling price. No matter what, bring your receipt!
  5. When they said they would be removing it tomorrow that could have meant that it would go to 90% off and everything that doesn't sell they will salvage. Because usually 90% off doesn't last more than a day or two tops (and usually it's cleared out in a couple of hours). I do not put any stock in employees mentioning that they wouldn't be marking it to 90% off. First of all, most employees have no idea how it works and are just guessing. The ones that DO know could easily be throwing people off on purpose. Because they want the good deals, too, and if the store is packed with people when they mark it down, it will all be gone before they can take their breaks. I have seen enough employees filling carts with clearance items under the guise of "moving" them to know that they look forward to it, too. (And I also think that sometimes they don't change the signage on purpose so they can get what they want before the average customer realizes it's marked down). Apparently I am a conspiracy theorist when it comes to Target employees and clearance deals. But it's for good reason!
  6. Seriously a ZOO at Target today...the parking lot was as full as it was the weekend before Christmas! It was 75% off and there was a TON left, even with a bunch of people shopping it. (This was at 9:45 or so at the Ward Parkway location). I got: ###Queen sized flannel sheet set with mitten pattern: $4.99 ###LS t-shirt "Joy to the World": $2 ###Cars Book "Mater Saves Christmas": $3.24 ###Phineas and Ferb book: $1.24 ###Marley Book: $1.74 ###Goldfish box: $.74 ###Cake Mixes: $.42 ###Frosting: $.42 ###Dove Chocolate (in the regular aisle...just 50% off): $1.74 ###Lip Smackers Sets: $.99 each (used a $1/2 coupon) ###Mickey/Minnie cups with snow globe bottoms: $1.49 ###Hello Kitty Set: $1.74 From the Dollar Section: ###Felt buckets (great for giving gifts): $.25 Now...the pajama mystery. I scanned a set of women's Nick & Nora PJs (green with snowmen). These were in the regular women's pj section. They scanned 75% off...$6.24. I went back and grabbed every other Nick & Nora style and they all were clearanced, but just at 30% (and most had red stickers). I scanned a set of kids pjs with an identical pattern (green with snowmen) and they were full price, as were all of the Nick & Nora kids pjs, except a couple of prints that were 30% off. However, one set of Carter's PJs in the girls section (Santa pattern) rang up 75% off...just $3.24 for TWO pair (WOO!). Other Christmasy prints were either full price or just 30% off. It's a mystery. Last year the Nick & Nora sets were on the Christmas markdown, but they never moved them to that section. I got 4-5 pair for just $1.29 each when they hit 90% off! This year, no such luck (yet).

  8. I've never seen or heard of the "mid day drop" around here for holiday clearance. EVER. With any holiday/seasonal. It is always first thing in the morning. So that's why I'm not going out again until tomorrow! :) I'm wishing I would have stopped in the dollar spot...I just skipped it after I realized that Christmas was still 50% off. Oh, well!
  9. Okay, so who is going to be the guinea pig that actually goes back to a store this afternoon that was just 50% off this morning to see if they marked it down?
  10. Went to one store (Ward Pkwy) at 9:00 and it was marked and scanning 50% off. Went to another (Mission Greatland) at 11:00 and it was also marked and scanning 50% off. BUMMER!!! Good news is that both stores had a TON left. I really didn't want to get out tomorrow, but you gotta do what you gotta do!! I did get a few candy items (Gummy wreaths and Starburst booklet) using coupons for really cheap. Scanned a bunch of christmas-y pajamas in the kids sections and none were marked down. Also scanned snowflake Ritz crackers and they weren't marked down at all, either.
  11. You are the first person I've seen that saw 75% off today!! And here I was thinking I was safe to stay home! Anyone in KC venture out yet?
  12. People go NUTS over those Bounty towels/napkins! If you aren't there when the store opens on the 50% off day, you are out of luck (unless they have some hidden stock somewhere). Last year I got super lucky with the Kleenex, though...they never moved them to the clearance area and they were still there at 90% off!! I STILL have 5-6 boxes of Christmas Kleenex from last year. :) Hoping for 75% off tomorrow! I haven't set foot in a Target for 2 weeks...I'm itching to get there!
  13. www.NyAndCompany.com Here is the email I got: http://email.nyandcompany.com/PS!5kVvZDJpc/gFBgIAAAAGCgFICgg3OTE1MjU5OQoKMzI4OTMyOTAyNAkATKogCgk1NzMyNzg2MzkF?email_addr=spam%40hotmail.com&&ep_mid=79152599&ep_rid=3289329024 Tomorrow (11/29) only, get 50% off everything plus FREE SHIPPING on any order (no mimimum purchase). No code required. The site currently shows the 50% off deal, but the free shipping deal isn't live yet.
  14. Didn't see any white Wii's at my store. (Other than the new bundle with Sports Resort, which was full price).
  15. I may have to check on the Wii's tomorrow...that is awesome!!
  16. I was able to get two $9.99 books for free...used two $5 coupons with no beeps. Woo!
  17. My store had at least 20 of them this morning, but I didn't buy any...why do they have to have zombies/skeletons? My kids are too young for it anyway, but I would have gotten one for the giving tree at church if it weren't for the zombies. Great deal, though!!
  18. Okay...I found at least one city that says "Valid Online"...Syracuse. NYC still says "In Store Only." Weird.
  19. Brad...I got that same info (that it would be redeemable online) but all of the markets I've looked at all say "in store only." Hope they get that corrected!
  20. Big Groupon that is supposedly going to be Nationwide on Thursday, but is already live in New York City & other East Coast cities. Get $50 of American Apparel for $25. The Groupon is valid online, too! Edited to say: Okay...the info I got said that this would be valid online, but now it's showing in-store only. I guess just watch it tomorrow to see if it comes up as valid online.
  21. What KCTraderbear said is true. Their written coupon policy says that they will apply the coupon and THEN do the price match. So, in this case, you wouldn't save any money. However, if you take the item directly to customer service, do the price match and THEN hand them the coupons, they may take them. But it's a case of YMMV and the written policy is working against you. But that's a great deal...would be worth a try if you are in the market!
  22. My store was 75% off still today with lots of costumes and very little else. Will be there first thing in the morning to pick up a few costumes for the dress up box! I'm a little surprised but my store has had NO candy left over. As soon as they marked it 50% off they consolodated it all and moved the candy out. It has never come back.
  23. Love the contest, but wish you would include Offline Hot Deals posts. There are a lot of us whose expertise is more in the offline arena (Target clearance, etc) and I think those posts are just as valuable as the Online Deals to some. Anyway...just a suggestion for you to consider!! Thanks for the great contest!
  24. Were these 4 packs of full size Zhu Zhu pets? Do you think it was a pricing error?
