I got them as a gift from my mom once. Pretty good gift idea but the quality was only ok. I can't say they were worth the money she spent, but she did get a deal that cam with extra burgers, a cutting board and some cheap steak knives. For day to day family meals I'd say they are good. If you do price them out though it is a bit too much for what you get. I'll cook a standing rib roast or beef tenderloin. Sometimes I throw in a ham too. But no turkey! After TG we are so over turkey!

What is it about MILs? I'd like to think it is not deliberate but who knows. Of course my MIL gives crappy gifts to everyone. She puts zero thought in it and now that I think of it, she usually does not buy the DH & me anything, But boy she expects them...from all of her kids. She won't even check the mail except around her bday, mom's day and Christmas. The really weird thing is that my mom gets her something every year and the MIL will kill herself to get my mom something, even if she gets nothing for the grand kids or kids. She reall wants to impress my mom for some reason.

Did you wait 5 days to pay? If the auction ended Sunday night and you mailed the payment on Friday, he may not have gotten for a few more days. You have to admit waiting 5 days to send a payment is bit long. I hate ebay fees and now they own paypal. I got ripped off for $50 and paypal decided I was in the right but it didn't matter, they could not withdraw the funds from a verified account- no $ in there. So much for buyer protection. But overall (some selling & more buying) I have had mostly good experiences.
