  1. Yes I think so. Haven't checked the other places this year, but online, it's probably your best bet. Puzzles are kinda heavy, so the free shipping will make all the difference and the prices are usually good. I've gotten almost all my Melissa and Doug's there over the years. Any new ones that are must haves? 100 pieces minimum for us.
  2. They may be in stock in the store though. Doesn't work for everyone I know but I have been at TRU every day this week (and most of last), and I know my store was chock full of most of this stuff.
  3. Piranha Panic $12.99 http://www.amazon.com/Mattel-J5924-Piranha-Panic-Game/dp/B000EPFEPM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1260326442&sr=8-1
  4. megarig pirate is back down to 19.99. http://images.amazon.com/images/G/01/toys/detail-page/B002CGSCUU-3-lg.jpg http://www.amazon.com/MATCHBOX-Pirates-Amazon-Frustration-Free-Packaging/dp/B002CGSCUU/ref=sr_tr_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1260249929&sr=8-1
  5. They have still got a bunch! I was sure this would be sold out by the time I got there!
  6. Yeah, look at that. They found it on the brown one Mr squiggles. Does that mean the others are safe? The company could refute this as much as they like, nobody is going to let their kid play with Mr Squiggles. I wouldn't. I don't like the way they flatly refused to accept the possibility. The responsible thing would be to at least say they are taking this very seriously and are looking into it. Hopefully they will keep testing. Stuff made in China these days is so unpredictable. Hopefully it is isolated to the one Hamster. I've got a closet full of the stuff but only one hamster and he's the white one. Not sure what I am going to do. Anybody else have an opinion on this?
  7. Nerf LaZerTag $43.58! http://images.amazon.com/images/G/01/toys/detail-page/B0026J7EIO-1-lg.jpg http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0026J7EIO/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance
  8. What is going on with Amazon? I am not going to sit by my computer every hour waiting for what they would like to offer in a lightening deal. No no. I hope this is not their new strategy. I don't think that would be wise on Amazon's part. They did very well last Xmas, much better than most retailers. And if anything their SERVICE has declined. They have out sourced the phone bank to another country. The people who answer the phone can do very little for you. They no longer price adjust, and they no longer allow you to refuse an order. They charge return shipping when you have accidentally gotten duplicate orders. Never did that before! They are no where near the merchandise, and of course they are cranky, it's the middle of the night where they are. I won't buy anything electronic on amazon, unless it is HALF of what I can get it for elsewhere. That is what the ability to return the item is worth to me. Half. Example, I won't buy d-rex from them unless it drops below $75 dollars. Then I'll jump on it. They had better move on that though, because target's sale ends Saturday and I'll have to buy it by then! Last year I bought almost everything on amazon, my garage was filled with Amazon boxes. Just the club penguin stuff and some video games at toys r us really. This year it's primarily toys r us and a little target. They are great for books, dvd's, toys that don't break, don't get me wrong, I love Amazon. You don't leave your house and the book is at your door. It's great. This is my 3rd year of Prime. They need to get moving this year though, or they will lose customers. They will lose my devotion anyway. Maybe they have just gotten too big!
  9. I just got a hamster. One I had to call and ask and they held it for me! The other they were out but accessories only. It's worth a shot. I'd call around first though!
  10. Here's the link http://www.amazon.com/Mattel-R9415-D-Rex-Interactive-Dinosaur/dp/B002GJUU4O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1259793944&sr=1-1 10$ less than last week. 20 less than Target's weekly add and 30 less than TRU's lowest (last week) so far. Think it'll drop more? BTW Thanx to the OP on Tribot. One clicked that one! Still thinking on D-rex...
  11. That sound like a good deal. What's this 10$ off with google checkout? Did you get free shipping?
  12. I think finding them in stores deeply reduced is unlikely. Which lego star wars exactly? I was in this position last year and was able to get it from Amazon day AFTER cyber Monday. It was like 45% off, and it was a 130$ set. So that was great. I think it was on sale for a couple hours max. I posted and a number of people say they got the deal. So that was good. It was the only thing he wanted. I know how it is. Legos just don't go on sale like other stuff. And man are they expensive. If you let me know the numbers I'll keep my eyes out and post if I see them.
  13. Checked my order status from last year. Started on the Dec 2nd. I got my very best deal on Dec 2nd (lego star wars) and it continued solid for two weeks, less activity on the weekends, straight through to the 15th. I got particularly great deals on the 2nd, the 9th and 13th. The 2nd was the day after Cyber Monday...so that could translate to Dec 1st this year. Also I noticed Tuesdays were particularly good for me. Anybody else have particular luck with a certain day of the week, and in what category? I noticed I got a lot of board games on Friday the 12th and Monday the 15th. It may have been I was too busy on weekends? Anyway, watch out it might hit on the 1st!
  14. I second the recommendation for nerf cases. We had two of the DS lite break in the last 2 weeks. If you get a DS get some protection for it. The screen thing I don't worry so much about. We will probably get a DSi to replace because with technology we always buy the latest so it will last longer. As for the GBA cartridges, unless you have a bunch lying around, it might not be a factor. We NEVER play GBA games on the DS lite(and we do own a few )because the DS was our first handheld. However, we also have a PS3 and we play almost exclusively PS2 games on the PS3, because the games are more kid friendly. The DS/ DSi have more games for them then the GBA or all it's predecessors combined ever did. You will not be short of game selection. And there are tons of DS games for young kids. I'm also kind of hoping we won't see the "right button defect" and the "hinge crack defect" in the DSi that was there in the DS. We had both problems and the only answer is the electronic recycling pile after a year. I'm struggling with it too, mostly because I don't want to buy either, I want my 9 year old to move on to the iPod touch a be done with it, but I guess he'll have at least another year of the DSi or DS lite or until it breaks again. Was this a problem with the GBA? Did they break like this? Here's what I would do. If the difference is $70 then maybe the DS is a good choice. But if the difference is $30 or $40, in the end, then I would "pony up" as they say and buy the DSi.
  15. The new 2009 D-Rex is 109.99 at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B002GJUU4O/ref=pd_luc_mri?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance Hope the link worked. I'm actually buying mine at TRU for 20$ more (and tax) just because I really like TRU, they'll take anything back, and so much can go wrong with robots.

  17. Good Deal! I think BB has a great insurance program too (as long as they don't follow Circuit City down bankrupcy lane!). If I had known I would have bought mine there. I bought my macbook there, preferring it over apple for the insurance program. TRU is 25$ insurance for 18 months on the TOUCH, I know because I bought it last week with the gift card deal they had. I have no idea how good their insurance is, does anybody know? If it's not so good I am thinking I should return it in favor of the best buy deal. How much was the insurance there? Thanks!
  18. The gift card you get is not good for that purchase. But you could use it 10 minutes later. These cards expire quickly. This one expires Feb 1st, 2009 I believe. The $10 one I got in November (and used when buying the touch) expired Dec 25th or there about. So you do have to remember to use them. I say if TRU is not a regular stop for you then go stick the ipod in the car and go back in and keep shopping.
  19. I was just at TRU and the deal this week with the ipod touch was: Buy an ipod touch and get: Three 10$ iTunes gift cards AND a 15$ TRU gift card. That is a pretty good deal. The weekly ad made it seem the $15 TRU gift card was just for the Nano but it is for both! I saw it rung up right before my very eyes. Was this a mistake? The people at the store said no! Anybody else get this deal?
  20. ipod touch I was just at TRU and it is in fact the $30 dollars worth of iTunes giftcards PLUS a 15 dollar TRU gift card. That wasn't obvious from the weekly ad. It seemed the 15$ was only for the Nano but in fact it is also for the Touch. Pretty cool huh? In store only.
  21. Hi, I know I said this already but it is really worth a try. Go to one of these stores on Sunday morning at 8:00 am (opening.) The closest one perhaps, or get your Sunday paper early and chose that way. Any store with the Wii fit in their ad will have to have at least one (or it's false advertising.) Often they save them for Sunday (like hold the last one in stock in case they don't get more) so they can put them in their ad. I would not delay and hit hard this Sunday. It was the one thing that was guaranteed to run out this year. Good luck!
  22. There should be a 15 or 10 percent off code out there as well. I think it didn't expire till xmas. Yes you can use them together. Do a google search for "coupon codes leapfrog" or the like.
  23. How does the Roomba 400 compare to the 410? That's the one I wanted to buy. Which did you get on BF? Is it compatible with all the 410 accesories- (docking station filters?) Is it perhaps the same thing? Speaking of Roombas and dog hair, I am about going nuts, and I was thinking the Roomba might be the only solution. I vacuum every single day (I do not have the time for this) and I refuse to wake up at 4am to vacuum. So I thought Roomba. My sister has one and says it works great on dog hair. Think about it. I could save probably 5 hours a week, and loads of frustration.
  24. Toys r us has a similar deal on the i pod touches. Buy at MSRP and get three $10 dollar iTunes gift cards. So it's like a 30 dollar discount (except yo are paying tax on the full amount. You will use the itunes cards and they are great to give to kids (they don't have credit cards) or I just hand them out to the Garbage men, post men, teachers, etc. Everybody knows somebody with an ipod (usually a kid.) BTW I've noticed the garbage guys are often wearing ipods, probably to cancel the noise and wake up! Check their website I think it's a two day thing ends today (Monday.) I'm hoping to pick one up myself, so if there are better deals out there let me know! Does anyone know how good TRU's extended warranty is? I'm wondering about do they fix a screen for free if you drop it? Does Best Buy?
