  1. It is good for 1 account. With a family plan you can have as many as 4 accounts with the one subscription of $99/year. We only have 1 account here so only need the single subscription. We do have them all combined (I have bought 3 different 1 year subscriptions)so DS subscription will expire in March 2014.

I don't know what 1 account means. Does that mean only 1 person can play? Sorry, I just don't know anything about this. Thanks!

  2. Live subscription is needed to be able to access the Microsoft Marketplace and also to be able to play games against others, This is the way my DS plays most of the time online with friends he has made all over the US and also his friends at school.

But I guess I am wondering, can only one person play at a time with the regular membership? I have 2 boys that will want to play together plus I just ordered the Kinect and my other kids will want to play those games together too, like a two player game. I only care about them being able to play the games. I don't care about points or anything else. I just want my kids to be able to play online. We have had the xbox for one year now but I did not buy them the xbox live because I just couldn't afford the wireless network adapter and the gold card too.

  3. I need two laptops. Two years ago I bought the Compaq at WM at the same price they are offering it for this year AND a Dell 3GB for $399 from Best Buy. Well the motherboard went out on the Dell about a month ago. That was my daughters. She will be 14. I need one to replace hers and I need one for my dd 11 as well.

I am thinking about the Compaq for my dd11 and maybe something better for my dd14. I really don't know. I cannot do BF though so I need a deal before then and I hate going somewhere when they only have a few available. I just don't have the time with all of my kids. I do know I don't want another Dell. I have heard a lot of people complaining about them lasting. I am thinking HP or maybe Acer. I was even considering a netbook for my dd11 but I got one for my dd9 and I'm just not sure if one would be enough for my 11 year old. She is in middle school and has a lot of projects and uses powerpoint a lot. Any opinions would be a huge help.

  4. If you are on Walmart's emailing list, then you should get the notification. Last year they made it more obvious in their email. The year before there was a banner ad in the email that wasn't all that obvious. I was able to get a one of their laptops both years. Both years the main secret sale was 2 or 3 weeks before Black Friday. Last year they had two secret Saturday sales about two or three weeks apart.

    Thanks!

  5. keep an eye on QVC they have specials from time to time with good prices. Not sure when, you can search their website.

That is true but be careful of the price. QVC usually sells the dolls with accessories in sets and usually, and I mean usually, by the time you add in the shipping it is the same price it would be at AG. A lot of times they offer easy pay though so I have ordered from them b/c of that. There is not a show scheduled at this time though so you will have to keep checking back to see when they have a show scheduled.

  6. on the walmart site, it doesn't say if it comes with a home charger, only a car charger. Does it come with a home charger?

Yes, it has a home and car charger, earphones and a case. I received mine on Thursday. It also comes with 20 min. (comes with 10 but they are doubled). I activated mine and it works good so far. I only want it to use in my house but Sprint and ATT don't work in my house at all. So far, this gets great reception.

Also, check your local WM store. I checked there before I ordered this and they were $14.88. When I went to pick mine up at site to store shipping the guy told me they were the same price in the store. Just check to make sure it doubles the minutes.

  7. I use this site to get bonus minutes when I add minutes to my sons phone. Sometimes it doubles (he has a dbl minutes for life phone) and sometimes it doesn't. I have never got less than 30 bonus minutes :) I do it all online. :) There is a box to add the code when adding minutes on their site. :D

So do you buy the minutes on the Tracfone site and then enter the code?

  8. Our experience has been all positive. There are absolutely no hidden fees. You pay as you go, and you decide on how much at a time. After the expense of the phone, all you pay for is the minutes. We love it for the fact that we aren't locked into a contract. We have also had really good reception and have been in places where others were not getting service but Tracfone did!

    Thanks!

  9. Sorry for all of the questions but I really need some help with these phones. I went to Tracfones website to try to find out if there is a $1.00 per day fee (if phone is used) but I can't find anything. I did see something about a fee per minute card you buy based on the minutes on the card.

I thought these were supposed to be "easy" to understand but it looks as though there is a lot of small print and conditions. I haven't received my phone yet but I am wondering if it is worth the trouble.

Can someone help me understand these a little better? At least with my high priced Verizon phones I don't have to worry about the phone expiring or being charged extra fees.

    Thanks for the help!

  10. Thanks for all of the help everyone, you guys are great!

I feel better knowing that the minutes do not expire after the 90 days, that's what I thought the other poster meant.

I didn't know anything about the $1.00 a day either. None of this is posted on the link at WM where I bought this phone. I have never had prepaid before so I don't know all of the in's and out's of using them. So do you have to have a credit card on file for the $1.00?

Hopefully, this phone will work in my home. Right now the only service that does is Verizon and I am paying way too much for their service. I just want this phone to use in our house as a home phone for me to call my kids or for them to call me when I'm not here. For regular calls we have our cell phones but not all of my kids have one.

If this works out I might get another Tracfone for my dd10 in a year instead of adding her to my already high Verizon plan. I will have to see how we do cost wise with the Tracfone.

  11. A regular purchase of minutes comes with 90 days of service. As long as you are on top of it and use the phone with some regularity it shouldn't be a problem. But if you were buying this for emergencies only and don't use it much, you might lose track of end (term) date. I believe phone service on your phone will terminate on the end date, if you don't have any activity and you don't "re-up" with minutes purchase. So for some, it might just be convenience and peace of mind to know that they have a full year of service and they don't have to do anything. They wouldn't have to keep track of when the terms expire. I hope that makes sense.

So, when you buy minutes they are only good for 90 days and the one year card keeps your phone active for a year plus you get 400 bonus minutes? Am I understanding this right? Are the 400 bonus minutes eligible for doubling?

    Thanks!

  12. I ordered one of these last night. I figured for the price I can always use it. Does anyone know what the Tracfone one year airtime card is? The description says:

    * Adds 400 minutes and 365 days of service

    * Nationwide network coverage

    * Minutes accumulate with active service

It says "Adds one year of service to end date". What does "end date" mean and why would anyone pay $99 for this when they can get the 200 min card for $39.99 and would end up with 400 min?

    Thanks!

  13. If you going to get rid of your home phone... i would go with a plan cell phone service. We recently went with us cellular and we pay $90 a month for four phones with one phone having text messaging... ds age 14.. We are able to talk for free after 7:00 pm to 7:00am everyday and weekends are free.... we also can talk to anyone with us cellular for free at anytime....we have gotten rid of our landline phone...

Wow, that's a great price! US Cellular doesn't work here. I have Verizon (cannot change anytime soon) and I pay $160 for 3 phones 1700 min. and free text. It is $10 a month to add another phone so that's why I was thinking about the track phone.
