  1. I love the stuff but it's SO rich I have to watch how much I eat or I will have HORRIBLE indigestion lol. Doesn't really stop me from eating it.

Lol oh I hear ya! No matter how careful I try to be, I always end up swigging some pepto at the end of thanksgiving.

  2. @jakesmommy403 You can buy doorbusters online unless it says in-store only.

Last year I bought the 29 inch TV for $79.00 that was one of the doorbusters.

Oh wow, I didn't realize that about the TV! Hmm...I wonder if I would have any luck ordering one online. Could be worth a shot and then if that doesn't work out I can try in-store. And if THAT doesn't work out then I suck it up and pay a little more for one.

And thank you, I'll let mom know to look through again and make sure nothing she wants says in-store only.

  3. Jakesmommy, if your askin about the tvs, it doesnt say doorbuster

Thank you, but I don't think she's looking for any TV's. Who knows what she's looking at! I'm definitely out for a new tv this year, but i'll check in person and see what they have. I'm turning our "playroom" into a "family room" which means bigger tv!

Oh look, the same Nikon camera on sale again.

Every year! I actually received that camera as a gift a few years ago. Lol

  4. It is hard to say, honestly. Every store is different. Depending where you live some stores are packed to the brim with people trying to buy stuff and others are not. Most people in line would probably be after the 55" TV or something else (like game consoles or Apple products). So they might not be after that 50" TV although if the 55" TV runs (and it will) they might opt for the 50" instead. Best I could say is just take the chance, go there when you can and if they have it, great, otherwise sorry you missed out.

Thank you, that's what I'll do. I'll head up there around 9 with my fingers crossed and just see what happens. If I don't get one, then that's my fault for not putting down my turkey leg to get up there earlier!

Question for you guys: I'm having a hard time reading the fine print, are any of these deals in-store only? My mom is looking at a couple things but she wants to order online. She also will not tell me what she's looking at. She said "ask your Black Friday friends on that website." Lol

  5. That 55" TV is the kind of deal you have to line up for in order to get. If you're showing up to the store after it has already opened then sorry to say it but you won't be getting one. :)

What do you think about that 50" for $239? Same with that? I don't see myself getting there any earlier than 9:00.

  6. I'm looking for a good deal on a 50" TV for our family room, not another smart TV just a regular one. That $239 is a very attractive deal to me! I wonder if I would be able to get my hands on one if I didn't get up there until about 9pm. My target always seems to have stacks of TV's left even the next morning, but I don't know if I've ever seen one that large for that good of a price. Hmm...

  8. I have a list on my phone, which I'm especially loving this year with the ios9 update to notes, I can add little bullets that I can check off, pictures, etc. (I use it for everything from grocery shopping to just my daily "here's what needs to get done" lists.)

Soooo I have my kids' xmas lists on there along with the other items I want to get them, and then I have my little list of stuff I want for myself and others, and I'll take screen shots from ads as we get them and add them to my list.

Other than that, I'll just be armed with my wallet and fueled by coffee. And Pepto.

  9. Well, the family voted the Green Bean Casserole out this year. I've never liked it, my kids don't like it, my husband eats it but not with gusto, last year I noticed neither of my brothers ate it, so I asked my parents and they said it's not their favorite either...I think it was just a holdover from Thanksgivings past when I had grandparents. Gram always made it, and everyone always ate whatever Gram made (out of a combo of respect and fear.) So now it's out! However, my oldest reminded me that I HAVE to make him banana cream pie, so that's on the list.

  10. I was working at The Children's Place at Tanger Outlets last year and worked 10-2 Thanksgiving Night and 11-6 Friday. It was a little tiring after hosting dinner at our house, but overall it was fun! It was all hands on deck, but we got to put in for that shifts we would prefer and then that got divided up as best they could. Everyone brought a dish and we had a buffet set up in the stockroom. It was fun to work with all the girls you typically didn't see. The customers were awesome, everyone was so nice! It was very festive! A couple people were like "aww I wish you didn't have to work tonight" but I'm thinking well if that was true you wouldn't be here shopping. Lol.

The only bad thing I can think of is this woman who came in on Friday in the middle of the chaos and wanted to return her items for BF prices but didn't have her reciept OR the items with her! She caused a big stink, wouldn't move, wouldn't leave, went through the entire chain of management that was in the store, held up a register for a really long time causing commotion with the customers behind her in line, it was a mess. I don't even remember how it all worked out because I was ringing on a different register at the time and then went on break while they were still dealing with her. After she left, she called to complain about the service she received, but instead of calling corporate or anyone who mattered, she called our store. The very store she had just left. What a weirdo.

And FYI, The Children's Place was running the same exact sale we had run for two weeks prior to BF, and then ran that same sale for two weeks after. We just changed the signs to the same wording but with Black Friday graphics. We did the signs Tuesday night. The $4.99 fleece doorbusters were still $4.99 a few weeks later. They eventually went to $2.99. Most of the outlet stores did that, just ran basically the same sales, maybe with a doorbuster or a coupon. Don't believe the outlets hype for BF. Lol

  11. A couple years ago I got that 3-pack of Food Network cookie sheets from Kohls on BF and they have become my all-time favorites. I plan on picking up another pack of those, for sure! That's about it for me other than some of those $2.99 Big One towels, so I'll just stop by Kohls at some point after the initial crush and see what I can find.

I'm excited that this ad is out! I'm hoping to see Walmart, Sams, and Target around mid-week so I can make my plans. Yay!

  12. We have dollar stores here but never heard of Five Below. Love many of the items in this ad. I'm wondering though if the name of the store is five below and most of their items are $5 on BF, is this really any cheaper than any other day? At any rate, some great prices on really cute stuff. Might hit them up online.

I just looked on their website and they have the $5 candy tubes for $5 right now. fyi

You are totally right. Everything in the store is priced at $5 or less everyday, that's why the name is Five Below. They have most of this stuff in the store right now, so any of the items that are listed at $5 in this ad can be picked up today to avoid the crowd. I just picked up some of those coloring books for a friend of mine today, and they already have most of their holiday stuff out.

We have two Five Belows within 10 miles in either direction of my house and my kids love it! Great place for cheap headphones, phone cords, video games, board games, t-shirts, sports memorabilia, etc. Nothing is ever more than $5, so it's a great place to take the kids when they have a little money to spend.

  13. The Lego games are always fun. Did he have a ps3? Has he played the uncharted games on the ps3? If not, then the uncharted collection on ps4 would be great for him. Battlefront comes out in less than two weeks. It's a star wars game, so everyone loves that. There's a racing game called drive club that he may like if he's into racing games. And you could always give him a psn gift card and he can choose games to download.

Thank you! That Star Wars game will be perfect! And I'm going to go check out Drive Club right now. I really wanted a racing game for him! Thanks!

  14. Halo is a great game, but it is exclusive to Xbox.

If you're going to buy your son a PS4, I suggest buying him a Play Station Plus card. They're around $50 for a year, but at this time, they run sales so be on the lookout. They give you free games to download monthly, some of them are popular titles. He can also play online with his friends.

It's well worth the $$$, and he may get more out of it than taking a chance at a $50 game.

    Just a suggestion, jakesmommy403!

Thank you, we are definitely doing that! I plan on getting the card and taping it to the PS4 box before I wrap it. Then my husband can get to work setting up everyone's game systems and connecting to the internet! That his christmas job. Lol. This year it's a Wii U and the PS4.

Ok, so that Trackmania Turbo game got its release date moved to next year, so that's out. I think I'm just gonna stick with the 3 games on his list (Minecraft, Terraria, Destiny) plus that new Star Wars Battlefront game, get the other 3DS titles he wants, and then once he gets used to his PS4 and has a good idea of the types of games he likes we can go from there for his bday or whatever.

Our other little guy is finally getting the Wii U he's been dreaming about, and for that: Mario Maker, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bro's, Yoshi's Wooly World, Kirby Rainbow Curse, and he wants Splatoon but I'm on the fence with that one, I don't think it'll get played since he'll have all these new Mario games. Might wait and make that a bday game.

  15. My son (now 20) loves the COD games, but I do hear a lot of cussing when he's playing (and not all of it is from him, lol). There may be a way to censor it though, I don't really know anything about it.

Lol! Thanks for the tip. It's not my DS11 I'm worried about but his little 6-year-old brother who's basically a human parrot. That kid will repeat ANYTHING! I'm always like where did you hear that!?

  16. Well, usually I'm just out buying things for my kids and family, but over the past couple years I've started picking up some stuff for me and my husband. We've gotten a mattress topper, carpet scrubber, and TV in recent years. Oh! And silverware. This year I'm actually keeping an eye out for a great deal on a 40" tv for our family room. Time for a replacement. But it's still mainly christmas shopping for the family on BF.
  17. My son had originally wanted an Xbox One, then said a PS4, but then I pointed out one very important factor to him.

All his friends play on Xbox, except 2. If he were to get the PS4, he'd lose that social interaction (which is very important to him - these are all boys that grew up together in baseball and elementary school, but due to wonky districting in our town they all go to different middle schools). So even though the PS4 has more appeal (mainly the Taken King special edition), he's going to stick with the network where he can find his friends.

    (He's almost 13.)

And as a side note, Xbox Live goes down far less than PSN.

Oh absolutely, you have to go with the one that all their friends play on, for sure! In our case that's the PS4. His friends and my youngest brother play on there, so that's where he wants to be.

My husband said maybe a COD game for him? But there are so many! My brother waited for a midnight release of one, but I can't remember the name. And I don't want to pick his brain about this because he overwhelms me with info on anything game/computer related and I get too confused. He's 17 and knows everything. (Remember those days?)

  18. I need some opinions, please! My 11-year-old son asked for a PS4 for xmas but his list of games is short. He wants Minecraft, Terraria, and Destiny. And then he has "other games" I think because he really doesn't know what's out there, and neither do I! I've been looking online but it's hard to know which games are really fun and which ones are just so-so because a lot have mixed reviews. I'd like to get a few more games for him besides those ones. Can anyone suggest some great PS4 titles, please? My only rules are no boobs, sex stuff, or excessive swearing. He has a little brother who's always attached to him. I preordered Trackmania Turbo, that sounds fun. Skylanders Superchargers is another one I'm getting but for the Wii U so the kids can share it in the Family Room, the PS4 will be in my son's bedroom. Help! Thanks, everyone.
