  1. Shopped online at Kohl's for the first time, they had a lot of items I needed. Over half of my order was cancelled during fulfillment before shipping 5 days later, don't think I will shop with them again. Walmart Wednesday night online was a similar bust. Took over an hour and a half to check out, had to keep going through the cycle as each time more items went out of stock while waiting. Wound up getting about 1/3 of my shopping cart. Went Friday to Walmart and was able to get the electric pressure cooker, Rubbermaid storage items, Wrangler jeans for hubby, and pajamas for grandkids. Was able to order everything I wanted at Best Buy online, all items ordered shipped, as well as all items from Amazon that I wanted. There were a few others-- Aeropostale online had the color of shirts my son wanted and no one else did, very good experience online with them and all items ordered shipped. Got the goody bag online from Bath and Body Works, and had the scents I wanted. Went to Kmart on Saturday, got some needed items still on sale. I am almost done with Christmas shopping, as well as things I needed for myself.
  2. I was just now able to get the Isabelle Dance and Isabelle Sparkle. The Isabelle and Pet was sold out.
  3. Got it added to cart, but site keeps giving error message when trying to check out. Update: says not available for purchase at this time and put it in my "saved for later" items. Update: I was able to complete checkout on the mobile app, yay!! Pick up today! Thank you!
  4. i was so excited to have a won a shirt, did the Happy Dance!! Can't wait to get it, thank you so much!!!!
  5. 1. Around $1000, plus or minus a bit. 2. Offline there just aren't that many in my small town rural area. I will probably go to 6 or 7. 3. I hope to shop more online--last year got almost everything I was looking for online. Had to keep an eagle eye on the times and the deals.
  6. Thank you so much, GD, I got most everything on my list by shopping online the last couple of weeks. Living in a small, rural area, getting what I needed online was essential, as I wouldn't have gotten such good bargains otherwise! I did go out yesterday afternoon for a couple of things, stores were still busy but not zoos as in the past! Game Stop--was able to get the Nexus 7 32GB last year's model for $99 by picking up at the store. After I picked up mine, the sales associate took the rest of them off the shelf. Best Buy: Several games for $7.99, including Rock Smith for PS3 and Xbox 360, and one of the Mario games a couple of weeks ago. I also got the $99 32 inch TV with a DVD player built in earlier in the week. I didn't think this one would ship, as it was "backordered" but got my shipping notice on Tuesday. Picked up the LG Blue Ray player, wireless built in with the promo code for $54. Thursday nite, picked up some movies and the Fujifilm camera for $49 with an SD card and Turtle Beach gaming headset. Walmart--Got the Infinity and Skylander Giant starter packs last week in the store for $37 each, as well as several board games for $5 and $3, Novi Stars for $5 each for my granddaughters--they were on the list. Since prices went live on Thursday nite last week instead of Friday morning at 0800 for the Pre Black Friday Price Matching sale, I put the 50 inch LG TV on layaway, as I was secretly hopiing to get one of the 50 inch $229 dollar TV's, but now had a back up plan. Online, ordered wrangler jeans for $9 (3 pair), as well as a few BR DVDs.Getting to my cart on the site was very slow, and I would up losing some items that went out of stock while waiting for it to load, so after I was able to check out, I didn't go back to the Wal-mart site. Warner Brothers--several DVD's. Amazon--Lots of DVDs, Legos, Skylander giants, the 50 inch TV for $229, Ghost for XBox 360, Skylander Giants and Spyros with the portal for DS3XL, cover for Nexus 7, Rainbow Loom x 2, Rocksmith 2014, Video Card, SD cards, Car stereo x 2, and some other things I can't remember right off the bat. Kmart--snuggly socks, paid 88 cents and 44 cents, Panasonic wireless home phone system, big AA battery pack, slippers. Went to Kmart yesterday afternoon to get pajamas B1G1 to spend reward bucks, but was told I needed a pin number. Had never used a pin number before when redeeming rewards. Also, the manager refused to approve B1G1 because one pair was girls and one was boys, and were not the same price---whaaaat???? I showed him the circular which says the free pair will be the pair with the smaller price, but he wouldn't listen. Wrote a letter to corporate after I got home, and I cancelled my purchase in the store. Probably won't go back there for awhile, till I forget about what happened. Home Depot---Went after 1200 noon yesterday, and they still had one of their $69 trees left, wow, didn't expect that!! Since this is the first tree I have gotten in 20 years, I noticed it had a 5 year warranty and was pre-lit, easy to put together. Great purchase!! Also got some batteries and drill bits. Stopped at Wal-mart on the way home, and cancelled my TV layaway. It was still pretty crowded, but this is the only Walmart in a hundred mile radius. So pleased with my shopping experience, staying home on Thanksgiving Day while getting my must have items. Thank you so much, GD!!!
  7. Yes. I checked the category "Electronics", it was on the third arrow. After the 40 inch was posted last nite, I had a feeling that the 50 inch would come today, I just kept looking for it. I went to checkout something else, and when I came back there it was. I almost missed it!
  8. Oh, oh, oh, I can't believe I got it!! My chances on the waitlist were poor, but my chance came up (number 234 in line)!! Yay!!!
  9. The 50 inch Seike just came up a few minutes ago for $229. I got on the waitlist, but probably have a poor chance of getting it.
  10. I ordered the Nabi from Best Buy this morning. I had put two on lay-away at Wal-Mart before I saw the ad. Since lay-away won't be open on Thanksgiving Day, I couldn't get them out at the sale price, so I canceled the lay-away. Had to pay the $5 for cancelling.
  11. My favorite thing about Black Friday is the anticipation, planning, and execution of a well-oiled plan to shop all night and day. The carmaraderie with my family members makes fjor very special memories ----my grown kids anticipate it as much as I do, and still talk about all the times we have done this, especially when planning the next one.
  12. Since we are spending Thanksgiving with my son this year, it will be in Lubbock, Texas!
  13. Decided to join in tonite. Thread-watched the BB thread last nite while waiting for the x-box 250 gb to go live, got tired of waiting and got it at Newegg. Our Walmart is the only shopping mecca within 60 miles in all directions except for Kmart. It was horrendous when it the start time was early am. so decided to hit K-mart at 0500 this time if I can't get what I want online. I was going to go to Kmart today to get the PSP, but got it online for the same price so stayed home, cooked, and so far have gotten what I wanted just by shopping online.
  14. The thrill of the hunt! To see if I can get everything on my list! To be the first in line! To tell the stories after!
  15. I loved the midnite sale. We were going to be there anyway for a big ticket item, so we got to shop and get some things first, putting them in the car. The thing I didn't like was that as they were putting out the other 5am items, towels, clothes, small appliances, etc. the staff would literally scream at you not to touch any of those things. Then at 5 am there was the usual bedlam and trampling, and not being able to go anywhere as the masses were in the aisles. To me, that is the most dangerous and needs to be stopped. If they had allowed those of us that were there early, staying in the store all night to go ahead and put the smaller things in our cart while we waited for the big items, a lot of nastiness, bedlam, trampling, and rudeness could have been avoided. The early bird gets the worm, so to speak. My Walmart has never given out tickets to those in line, it's always been a free for all when the doors opened. THAT is what I hate!
  16. I love them! I have usually been where I wanted to be by midnite anyway, so it's just planning which store I'm at then.
  17. My husband's favorite Christmas food is fudge. These are pretty quick and easy! Microwave Two Minute Fudge This fudge usually takes a half hour longer than two minutes before it's ready to eat. Ingredients: 1/2 cup butter 3-1/2 cups powdered sugar 1/2 cup cocoa 1/4 cup milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 cup chopped nuts Directions: Place ingredients (except nuts) in bowl, but do not mix. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Beat with electric mixer until smooth. Fold in nuts. Pour mixture into a buttered 8-inch square baking dish. Refrigerate 15 to 20 minutes or until set. Or this one-- EASY MICROWAVE PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE Ingredients: 12 oz. semisweet chocolate chips 12 oz. peanut butter 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk Directions: In a 1-1/2 quart microwave-proof bowl, melt chocolate and peanut butter on high for 3 minutes. Stir well. Add milk and stir until well blended. Pour mixture into an 8-inch square baking dish lined with waxed paper. Refrigerate to chill. Makes approximately 42 pieces.
  18. I did most of my shopping online (Amazon, JC Penney, Kohls, Newegg, and Lowes ) on Thanksgiving. Went to Kmart on Thanksgiving for some slippers, cheap headphones, and boys pjs. Went to Walmart at 1205, and there were NO games left of any kind during the first pass through. Got everything else on my list, by then the jr jeans and girls pj sets were pretty picked through, but out of 6 pairs of jeans left I got 4pr in sizes I needed. Passed back through the game section just to see if I totally missed anything, and miraculously the two PS3 games I wanted were back in the cardboard shelves. They were the only two games on the whole display, one of each, but I was smiling as I put them in my cart! There were no more cheap mixers during the first pass through, but the second pass through netted one. Also saw two people with carts full of nothing but towels, but managed to find two of the cheapest ones and one of the $3 ones. Out of there by 0130 and home for a nap. Home Depot at 0830 and Kmart @ 0930, and I am done!! We had wanted the $197 32 inch TV from Walmart, and was prepared to stand in line, but got one from Newegg online with free shipping and no tax! First time in five years not standing in line somewhere for BF. Got the PSP 3000 ($105 after promo credit) and DSi from Amazon, thank you!!!! Great BF for me, as my mom was in the hospital so got to spend lots of time with her. When I left Walmart, one of the managers was talking to customers as they left, guess the opening of the game and movie pallets created huge havoc. I suggested letting people put them in their cart if they were there early, so there wouldn't be such a madhouse, but he said he couldn't do that and keep the true spirit of BF. Later in the day, a local radio DJ said she went at 0400 to get a laptop, but the tickets were already gone, and she was upset. I honestly just can't believe anyone should expect to stroll in an hour before time to get such a hot item, then complain so loudly when they are gone. JMHO.
  19. My daughter also uses her $199 one daily for school. My other daughter bought a new Gateway, and has had several problems. She winds up using the $199 emachine as well. It has been extremely reliable, even surviving young grandchildren's attempts to use it, LOL!
  20. I just wish they would standardize the experience. My experience wasn't so great. We got there at 9:00 pm Thanksgiving night for the PS3 and laptop. I called the night before and asked if we could bring our chairs, and was told that we could. When we arrived and asked where to begin the lines, we were told that no lines would be forming until 0300. I asked where everyone who was waiting would wait, and was told that no one would be in line until 0300. We were also told we could not sit in our chairs, and had to remove them from the store. I started shopping while DH and DD hung close to the critical spots, and was actually yelled at to put stuff that was for the sale back on the shelf. Security was brought in, and was blowing whistles and yelling at everyone not to touch anything until it was time. There was a mob for the flash drives and SD cards, as well as some of the toys. I may go back, but it would be better if every Walmart did things the same way! Mine was NOT a good experience.
  21. Went to Walmart about 9pm Thanksgiving nite. I had talked to two managers the nite before, they said we could bring our chairs and wait. I downloaded the store map before we went. The electronics manager on duty told us the line for the PS3 would be right there, but to stay out of the way, so hubby and son stayed there watching TV. When I asked about the laptops, same electronics manager told us that the six "secret items" had no determined location yet. Daughter and I went to hardware where the laptops were supposed to be, according to the map, and were told that the line wouldn't be forming until 3 am. I asked the person there where everyone would wait that would be coming early for the laptops if the line didn't form until 3--pretty unrealistic on their parts. One manager told us we could set up our chairs at the paint desk as long as we were out of the way. About an hour later, a different manager told all of us that the chairs had to go, we could stand there all night if we wanted, but no chairs!! She was extremely rude as well. My daughter stayed by the paint desk, and I started scouting out the location of all the other stuff that we wanted. I was looking at the towels, when I reached to feel one, three people screamed at me, saying that those weren't for sale yet. When 5 am came, the police security were actually yelling at people to keep the line moving. It was very disorganized, not everyone was on the same page, and security yelling at everyone was upsetting to a lot of people. Not a very good experience for us.
  22. The manager at my walmart that I talked to last night said anything that was around $100 and up would be ticketed. They are not giving out tickets until 0500. Potty passes will be for 10 minutes, and the location of the PS3 bundles and the $199 laptop is not on our map yet, as they haven't decided where to put them. We are taking our own chairs, which the manager said would be allowed. They were not expecting to form lines until midnite or 0100. If its only one pass after the line forms, I am in trouble!!!! We are going around 9 pm. I really appreciate all the other information here, but it does sound like each Walmart is customizing the rules for their own store.
