Got the unicorn today! It is really cute and so soft!

Ooohhh what about those key chain lanyard things?? Imagine how many people would see those. I don't carry a purse alot, so my lanyard is always hanging out of my pockets. I have one now for geocaching, and people always ask me what geocaching is.

How about GD checkbook covers, credit card holders, notepads, sticky notes, and car window decals?

Dates Ads Were Posted (2006-2010) & BF Ad Item Lists (2003-2010)

According to these dates, quite a few are behind schedule -
Mine came today!! My dh knew better thank to open it when he saw the return address label said GottaDeal. Yay! Thanks Brad. And the calendars came out great and will be used frequently.

Also, I don't know where you are located, but in the Hastings BF ad, the 360 or PS3 game will be on sale for $49.99. http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?236751-Hastings-Black-Friday-Ad-Posted

I bought mine for the wii, but not for a reason related to graphics. In our home, the wii is in the living room. My ds13 has the 360 in his bedroom. I wanted the Skylanders game so the whole family could play. Since the 360 is in my ds bedroom, it made sense to get it for the wii. Another factor was this game is up to 4 players and our 360 only has 2 controllers, but we have 4 for the wii. In our house, no video games are allowed on school days, so by the time the weekend gets here, we're all ready to play together, thus another reason to go for the wii. Hope my insight helped a little bit:)

I don't recall them doing it in years past.

What about stores like Walgreens or RiteAid? I've seen them there on sale on BF.
-
The stores themselves don't set the prices. It's all done through the computer/ cash register from corporate. So when the item is scanned, the price has already been changed in the computer by the corporate office. The stores suggesting a donation aren't following the policy, but hey, at least someone is getting use out of perfectly good merchandise and donating to a charity. Win-win in my book even if it is against the head honchos policy.

At my KMart they aren't in with other coats. There's a small section of Dickies coats, pants and shirts mixed in with the ladies clothing.
-
Just a heads up for the Dickies coats: my local KMart carries them so you might have luck finding one there.

My best friend is a mgr and she says they're not allowed to sell the stuff that rings up for a penny. I've seen employees tell the customers the items have been recalled due to lead which is not true. What's funny is when they do get items that ring for a penny, they destroy it and throw it away. I questioned why they don't set up a box for these items and donate them to a charity because it's usually toys and housewares. But corporate won't allow it.

They do have doorbusters but not a large quantity. And sometimes they don't get the items on sale at all. I've been there every year for the past 5 years since my bf is a manager and works that day. I bring her breakfast and coffee since I'm out and about :). It's busy but nothing compared to WM or similar stores. But they do have good 2 liter sales so I usually stock up on coke that day. There's probably a list of their BF ad from last year in the previous year threads.

I saw it said the trade-in value UP TO $250 is at the discretion of OM . The laptop must be fully functioning, in good physical condition and not be earlier than a Pentium 3 processor. I'm not sure how they figure "value" but I assume it is similar to Toys R Us' ipod trade-in. They input the model and condition and the computer gives them a "value". I have an older laptop I might try this with even though I'm not in the market for a new one. It sits in my closet, so what's to lose? I wonder if the voucher has an expiration? -
I saw this in my WM tonight: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Angry-Birds-Knock-on-Wood-Game/17217555 I thought this looked cool as it had the birds, blocks and a slingshot thing. From the picture on the back of the package, you draw cards that show you what you have to build. It looked super cool for $14.xx

Jay--I think you should get the new and improved Easy Bake Oven and do a demonstration! You could also demo games, video games, and other toys. You could soon be on the path to a show like QVC where they demonstrate all the cool toys!! I can see it now.

I'm actually looking at the Vitamix one. It has great reviews, but is pricey ($399 QVC, $499 Bed Bath & Beyond).

Any ideas if Walmart will be having another "secret sale"?

Jennifer- I did not find the list. It was posted at the beginning of this discussion. I was commenting on someone else's posted list. Look at the beginning for the original post. -

beccasbank replied to princess7794's topic in 2011
This doesn't look like the Secret Sale that they did last year and years previous. To me, this looks more like a special sale while getting you in there to take part in the Toyland event. I see it also says "Nov 5th is Super Saturday" so I don't believe this is the Secret Sale we're waiting for. Does anyone have other ideas if this is indeed the beginning of the "Secret Sales"? -
Glad to see you'll be hosting a webcast Jay!! Can we expect you to talk about video games especially the Skylanders game? I just bought this and will begin testing it on Friday. It is for my kids for Christmas--but hey...I want to try it out first!! I look forward to joining the webcast and getting your input on the toy scene.
