It'll be perfect for that

I got my LOST 'DVD' season 1 set for free. I used my HDTV capture/tuner card in my PC all last season to record the digital transport streams free over the air from my local ABC station. Higher resolution and bitrate over the DVD set with the cost of having to edit out commercials, burn to DVD+R and ONLY be able to play it back through the PC (which is set to output using RGB to my HDTV set in the room below)! They look fabulous (aside from the ABC bug on the screen). It's sort of my hobby. When retail blueray DVD comes out, my set personal set I created will suck. :)

Best invention for waiting outside in the cold: Jon-E hand warmer (google it) I break this thing out every Black Friday and make the experience much more bearable. The weather guy just said 'in the teens' for Central Kentucky warming up to a high of 30 with light slow covering on the ground. How wonderful! (NOT!) Having a fire in my pocket is about the only way I would consider standing in line this friday.

I use the same check-writing trick, but heard that with the right system retailers can now run checks like debits and instantly draw out of your checking. Fortunately I have not encountered a retailer that uses such a system. Being able to float a check is often my saving grace to shop before payday.

So who else out there will be freezing on early BF morning standing or sitting on a line somewhere? Time to break out the Jon-E hand warmer! It really does make the experience that much more bearable. I actually could use a second one, but like last year I forgot to consider purchasing an extra. I've never had much luck finding them locally.

For years now my wife and I have been getting paid by direct deposit and suddenly our job decided to cut only my wife a check on last payday. That is aggravating as heck. I just want the money to go right in my checking account, so I can spend it without running around extra to cash it with a 3-day hold. I dunno what is going to happen this friday when we get paid, but I'll probably be writing checks to play it safe (sorry people in line behind me, blame my job's inadequate payroll department).

Unfortunately it is over 14 days, but you might buy it at Office Depot anyway and return it to Best Buy unopened. Tell BB you never got around to opening it.. unless Best Buy scans some unique serial code on the laptops, it just may work. I bought a refurb laptop at Best Buy a couple weeks ago and I don't think they entered the serial number anywhere on the receipt.
