I have all 3 systems with alot of games on each. If there will be no online play, go with the Gamecube. If you want online play, go with ps2 (it's free.) I would rather have the Xbox 360 which doesnt seem is an option in your case. This is only my opinion though.

On some items, such as laptop and some tv's, they will have 2 model numbers for the same product but for diffrent stores. I tried to have Circuit City price match a laptop that Best Buy had cheaper. They had the same specs, same manufacturer, everything was the same. The only diffrence was at cc it was model 456781, at best buy it was 456782 (examples). This also happend with a tv I was trying to buy.

When I buy a tv, I don't compare it to other sets at the store, you never know how it is up. You cant put it past stores these days to make more expensive sets look better. I bought a Polaroid plasma awhile back, after some minor adjustments, it looks pretty good. Also, who cares what the set next to it looks like, you wont have them sid by side at your house. After doing research on my tv, Samsung makes it, but it was only available in Australia in that model.
