Hey, If you really do not absolutely have to get one, then camp out and try your luck. If it is something that you must get, then better not count on it and have another plan.

Everything I have heard is that there will be no more then a dozen or so at just about any Walmart; so realistically you are going to have to get lucky to get one. I have decided to give up on it and look for an alternative; probably best buy.

That only works when it is the same MODEL. Not if it is a HP vs a Toshiba, etc.

As it gets closer to BF, the pressure on the stores to cut prices increase. We still have 2 weeks+ to go.

DId not mean that- I meant a similar type of Laptop. Right now there are no indications they are. Though that probably means they are keeping it quiet untill it gets closer to BF. At least I hope so.

I am looking for that- since the CompUSA deals do not appear to match up; I am hoping Best Buy steps up. Would like an option to risking life and limb at Walmart.

The AOL thing will keep me away- I hate rebates that require mailing ANYWAY- but I hate AOL even more. So I guess unless Best Buy steps up then Its to Walmart I go.

It really depends on how much use it will get. If it is an everyday thing, it will not last as long as the really expensive Notebooks. If it is only used on trips, etc, that is another whole story. SOmething to consider when bugying one.

From what I can find, the CompUSA Toshiba has the edge in HD (5400 rpm vs 4200), and software. The walmart HP might have the edge as regards processor, and sound (Altec Lansing vs Realtek). HP vs Toshiba- that is a judgement call as regards quality, though HP would get the nod by most. pickem- though I guess one could say the risk to life and limb by shopping at CompUSA is less then at Walmart.

We need a side by side comparison with the Walmart laptop. Can someone come up with it?
