I'll be driving 3.5 hours each way to do my shopping this year. (Ok, I could shop closer to home but we moved this year and I just can't break up with my old favorite haunts) I'm staying with a friend who hates BF on Thanksgiving night so I can be in line by 2:30 or so on BF.

My favorite worst BF story was 3 years ago. We were standing in the ShopKo line which was about 150 people deep, when a man in a wheelchair came up to the front of the line and asked if we would let him enter first so he could get in and out of the way. The first 10 or so of us in line agreed to let him go in front and do our best to help him not get trampled. We waited about 5 more minutes for the door to open, and when they did...he got up and ran, leaving his wheelchair blocking the doors! There were quite a few people who were yelling that they should forget shopping and go give him a beatdown, but common sense and the need to shop prevailed. It was probably the funniest thing ever...that was also the same BF when two moms started fighting over a scooter and a guy got arrested for trying to walk out of Walmart with a TV.

I'll be in LaCrosse, Wisconsin - freezing my tail off with the rest of the happy idiots like me in this state!

I think smaller towns without the sheer insanity of BF would probably be ok, but my fairly small hometown of 25,000 people gets violent on that day! I have witnessed housewives fistfighting over scooters, a man in a wheelchair running people down, pushing, swearing, arguing...I think the best and worst in people comes out on BF. I will be leaving DS2 and DD14 home. Besides, it makes it so much less stressful to only have to worry about protecting yourself! :)

I went 2 years ago when I was 36 weeks with my son - word of warning, he was born the next day. :) He was 9lb 7oz, so more than ready to go, but something about being in line at 2am and shopping till I dropped sent me into labor? However, if you're tired of being pregnant, it may be just what you need! I had wonderful people around me that even held my spot in line so I could run to the gas station for potty breaks! It was a great experience, and I would totally be crazy enough to do it again!
