  1. Someone please explain the "touchpad" thing. I've got a laptop going out now and want to buy one on Friday. I keep hearing about the touchpad thing, but have no idea what that means. Thanks!
  2. The deal is back on right now, only it's for the pink one this time.
  3. Thanks for the opinions, everyone... exactly what I needed. :)
  4. Looking for opinions here... My daughter (8 years old) has the DS for a couple of years now. She really wants the DSi, and said she will ask Santa for it if we can't afford it. I've put her off (she wanted it for her birthday, and I told her it was too expensive, thus the reason for the Santa comment). So, my question is this - is this too much "machine" for an 8-year-old? Specifically, the internet capability, taking and sending pictures, ect. She likes that it can take pictures, and I think that's the reason she's wanting it more than any other reason. She plays games on my computer via the internet (WebKinz, Build-a-Bear, and the like). Can she do that with a DSi? Any opinions from anyone?
  5. Does anyone know if I buy a laptop now at Staples and it goes lower price on Black Friday, will they price adjust that day? What if it is a doorbuster item vs. a regular sale item?
  6. Both of my boys are now added to my cell phone plan, but in the beginning, for his first phone ever, I signed him up with Kajeet. It's a service specifically for kids. http://www.kajeet.com/4u/index.html You can block what you choose, texting or not, etc. It worked great for us.
  7. This deal is still good for Tucson and Wichita, but only the party option is available.
  8. My friend's podiatrist recommended them for her after breaking her toe. The soft tissue around the toe wasn't healing, though the toe had healed. He compared these shoes to an "air cast", telling her to wear them daily until her foot was better. She had shooting pains into her leg, and it was very painful to walk. She said that she got the shoes based on his telling her to do so, and wore them daily. She is finally without any pain after a couple of months.
  9. I've placed several orders with them - they have the best deals IMO. The quality is just like everyone else's I've ever used, both online and locally. I just placed an order with them using that code - almost 1600 pictures, for just over $100 ($30 in shipping, but so worth it for the 5 cent price).
  10. I can't tell which one you are referencing. But I just want to share my experience with IKEA. We used to live in Houston many years ago, and there is an IKEA there. MUCH of my home furniture came from there, and we will often make trips to Dallas now just to be able to shop IKEA. My computer armoire desk I bought from there in 1996 for $200 - I sold it this summer for $75 so that I could buy a regular desk from there - it was still in great condition. Also, my daughter's dressers are actually 2 bookcases from IKEA with drawers added to them... one small and one medium size, so she has 6 drawers total along with 2 shelves. I actually bought them for my now 15-year-old when he was a baby - again, still in fantastic shape. Literally every single piece of furniture I've purchased from there has NEVER worn out after 15 years of use for many of them.
  11. With a little research on the site, they are listed under "intimates" in the women's section, so my guess is these are women's socks, for those who are asking.

Sorry - couldn't figure out how to post the pictures for Easy Bake items, and looks like the Barbie won't post a picture either. And my links are huge text.
  13. I had no idea how popular the pillow pets are! I looked online for you and they seem to all be out of stock. What a shame! We have a mini-store in the mall and they have a lot of them. All of my kids got them last year. Very soft and very cute.
  14. Now $1.41 but not eligible for Prime at that rate - comes from someone else with a $3.48 shipping charge. Amazon's is back up to $5.75 (and eligible for Prime).
  15. I went today at 5pm and got the LAST DJ Hero for Wii plus $50 gift card. Then shopped for Legos and spent way too much. But I got them. I was really surprised the DJ Hero was still there.
  16. I got a Cricut a couple of years ago. I don't use it as much as I thought I would, and I have way too many cartridges for it that have never been used (but at least were bought at a great price, not full price). But I do use it enough that I don't regret buying it at all. I bought it for scrapbooking, but have yet to use it for that purpose. I've made Christmas cards with it, album covers, posters, boards for school projects... If you want one, get it... just don't go overboard on cartridges - find a good letter cartridge and stay with that one until you feel you need more.
  17. We got one of these last year - LOVED it! This year, Hallmark has Charlie Brown, Sally, and Linus (all individually) from the movie, as well as Snoopy/Woodstock/piano (all together). They would go great with this tree. :)
  18. Are they even available? I asked an employee at Best Buy before Christmas if the drums for the Wii were available for sale by themselves, and he said no. I had no reason to doubt him because I have not seen them for sale by themselves anywhere, just the whole band kit for Guitar Hero.
  19. OK, I'm looking all over and just can't see it. Where do I enter the code?
  20. Christmas wiped out the supply of them at all the stores (not just Sam's) around here. They are just now getting them back in the stores.
  21. I have one tall bookshelf for albums and papers, then two smaller bookshelves for all the other stuff. They make up my "credenza" along the wall. In front of that, I have one 6 foot table that I leave up all the time, and that is my work space.
  22. Apple rarely allows their things to go on sale, so the prices you find won't vary much. However, stores can offer things with the Apple items, so it seems like a good deal. The best I found was just before Christmas - Best Buy ran a deal where you buy the iTouch and get a free game card and a free $50 Best Buy gift card. I haven't seen anything like that since. In terms of actual price, Walmart beats other by a couple of dollars.
