  1. It's funny, because the box says easy to control. It also said it needed 6AA batteries. But it actually needs 12!!! That's 6 for each contoller! For $70, it should have an A/C. I'm going to have to return mine and pay shipping, because I bought it through ALLABOARDTOYS. I think next year I'll stick to buying from Target, toyrus, etc, for easier returns in store.
  2. My niece:eyepoppin (14) just about died when she opened these tickets!! She is sooooooooo excited!! Thank-you soooo much for the 1/2 price post, or we wouldn't be going in January.
  3. I love Amazon. What's better than sitting in your toasty warm P.J.'s, with a cup of coffee, or a beer at 1 AM for a great deal!!
  4. I'm exhausted today, but now I wonder, what will I do with all my time? I've been obsessed with deals, cooking, cleaning, shopping,... now...nothing..okay, still cleaning LOL
  5. This site rocks!!
  6. That's good parenting! Pat yourself on the back!
  7. Okay, so I broke down and finally popped the $70 for the Air Hog Havoc Heli and am extremely dissapointed. First, it's made of styrafoam. Second, only one of the helicopters worked, the other one, just spins in circles and crashes...What a rip off! My son was very disappointed, as well as I. Did anyone else get one? If so, is yours any better?
  8. Thank-you soooo much!!
  9. Housecoat, Pj's, perfume, does she like to bake/cook? Bake pans, pot holders, storage containers, gift card for take-out (pizza, chinese,) Grocery store Giftcard, Drug store gift card (perscriptions), Photo Albulm filled with family photos, ...My grandma was always cold, so we always got her a fleece housecoat type thing. She liked the kind that zipped or buttoned. She would wear it almost everyday, and wear it out, so we got her a new one every year.
  10. Funny...Maybe you could find a T-Shirt with one of those Wal-Mart smiley faces LOL:cheesy:
  11. How about giving each teacher/coach a personalized brownie or larger then average size cookie? Your kids (any age) will have fun making them, and include a small card with the special family recipe. Or a saying like...I (meaning the child) took time out of my busy life to make you this special treat because I appreciate all the time you take out of your life to mentor me!...Merry Christmas!!!
  12. I'm sorry you feel that way. Maybe you could arrange a day to hang out in the classroom so you can witness first hand what's going on. If you're not satisfied, talk to the principal and share your concerns. Parents shouldn't feel this way about a teacher, who probably spends more awake time with your child then you do. Parents and teachers have the same goal. Success of the child. You should really talk to the principal if you feel you're not getting anywhere with the teacher.
  13. Any amount is appreciated. I would say $10 is average. $5.00 is better than another candle, and any amount over $10 gets bragging rights in the teacher's lounge!
  14. Stick to gift cards...Grocery, Target, Teacher Store, Restaurant, nail or salon place, Gasoline...They're ALWAYS much appreciated!! After a few years of teaching, teachers have enough candles, ornaments, bath stuff. (Speaking from experience!) I have enough teaching ornaments to fill 4 or 5 trees! The funniest ornaments are the one "homemade" ones the kids make themselves,(with their own picture!) so I can remember them for years to come!LOL It was a joke in my school on who would get this one kid next year because the teacher always got a $100 GC for Mario Tricocci (sp?) salon.Teachers arguing "I'll take 'em!" Another idea is for a room parent to coordinate $5.oo from each student to get one large amount giftcard.
  15. Dominicks ad good 12/18-12/24 also has it for $19.99 with a $10 off your next purchase of $50. Combine it with $5.00 off coupon and it's like getting it for $5.00!
  16. Love the holiday invite card idea...For next year obviously. I just noticed he is getting some fuzz above the lip...a razor..I don't think I'm ready for this LOL
  17. My oldest is 12, well almost 13 as he says...
  18. I like the Christmas Brunch Idea. As for drinks, usually it's beer, wine, punch, (one with rum, one without for the kiddies) Every year my aunt and uncle bring a nice floral centerpiece for the table. It's beautiful, but in my head I'm like, (how about Jewel giftcard instead?!)
  19. Those were the days.....I remember when mine were younger and they each had 19 gifts one year. We call it the year of the Rescue Heroes!!LOL
  20. Thanks for everyone's input. Maybe I could fill in the blanks with some socks and underwear. I don't know it seems harder to find cheap things for teen boys than girls. If I had girls i could buy earrings, hair things, make-up, etc. But boys.... It's harder. If he opens underwear or socks I think he'll be offended! Cd's are out because of the Mp3 players. So far I got him the Zune ($100), Zune travel pack ($30 on BF), Zune rugged case ($24), and a funny saying t-shirt ($12). I was going to buy the 3 month membership for Zune ($45) at Meijer. That puts me over the $200 each kid limit, while still lacking 4 presents compared to his younger brothers. My budget is tight because, as usual, I have to provide dinner Christmas Eve and Christmas day for family (ALWAYS at my house!) It would be nice if family would pitch in some $$$. I've given hints, but no one seems to get it. I spend about $300 for dinner and drinks for the 2 nights. Not to mention hours of cleaning and cooking! Don't get me wrong, I love having the family over, but gesh, it's getting to be a very costly expense that the other members in my family don't have to endure.
  21. Do you give your kids equal amount of gifts...say 10 each or equal amount of money..say $200 each kid? My dilemma is that my oldest wants things that are much more expensive than the two younger ones. If I go by equal money, he'd only have 4 gifts, while the others have 9. But if I buy each nine, then I'm blowing budget, and oldest gets most of the budget. Its easier to find $5.00 toys for 8 and 2 year old. Not so easy for an almost 13 year old. What do you guys do ??
  22. I've had an ESQ Swiss watch that is 2 tone for 2 years now...I love it! I got it on clearence at JC Penny for $100. They are usually in the $250 and up range. Prior to this watch, I was a watch killer also!
