  1. I'm a seasonal worker at Michael's this year, so assuming I have time to shop, I'll be doing it in the north/east part of the San francisco Bay Area.
  2. They did it at my Target last year & it worked great. Much better then finding yourself in a slow line while the other registers may be moving. I was about 50 people back and stood in line for maybe 10 - 15 minutes.
  3. I was at my local TRU earlier this week & they had that Doc McStuffins doll set, along with the large $20 talking plush one. I got the little $10 plush one for my dd, it was the last. I was there to get the Doc M' medical bag, it was the 2nd to the last. When I was there the week before they didn't have any of the medical bags so I made sure to snatch it up then.
  4. Does anyone remember what these stores typically do on BF? Also about their outlet counterparts? I seem to remember that Gymboree offers a really good deal on their puffy jackets & fleece & tends to do some percentage off for early bird and then a lighter percentage off later in the day. Does anyone have specifics?
  5. The Premium outlets near me already have their hours posted on their website, including the stores that open earlier then midnight. 1 year I did it & it was complete & total chaos, worse then Walmart on BF, I swore I wouldn't do it again. I did brave it again last year and my hubby stayed (snored) in the car while my sil & I went around to the stores. Expecting the crowds definitely helped me prepare, more mentally then anything else. We had a great time. We'd finish an area, drop the packages off to dh & then he would drive us to the farther end (ours outlet is split by a road), then he drove out to a lot outside of the outlets & went back to snoring I scored some great deals.
  6. Thanks for the heads up. I was seriously leaning towards the Nexus for my 9 year old, but was wavering between that & the Fire.
  7. I'm currently looking at the Nexus 7, the new tablet out by Google, for my soon to be 9 year old. http://www.techradar.com/us/reviews/pc-mac/tablets/google-nexus-7-1087040/review So far all I have read on it, I'm impressed, but waiting for it to be out a little longer before making the $200 plunge
  8. Anyone heard anything about Zibits? http://www.toysrus.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=zibits&origkw=zibits&f=Taxonomy/TRUS/2254197&sr=1
  9. Thanks, I was coming here for this exact type of information. Guess I'm going to have to go over to our express store & find out for sure!
  10. Unless my t.v dies before then, I don't see Target as being my "I'm-in-line-before-midnight" store.
  11. ITA with that ^^^ I always had a pay by date. One time I completely forgot & came in for it about 5 days later & it was already restocked. Ughh, I was so mad at myself.
  12. Target hands down. In the years that I have been doing BF, my Target last year was the most organized I had ever seen. Best of all, after waiting in line since midnight and being about the 10th person back, watching the security guard nicely but very firmly tell those people that thought they could inch in from the side (they had carts up to make a path but these folks tried to move in past them) to move it to the back of the line!
  13. The slow cookers I bought at Kohls as gifts for my sil & sister...considering the fact I just received notice a few weeks ago that they have been recalled due to possible catching on fire. Funny enough (well not really)...I went to my sil's house shortly after receiving the letter & noticed a slow cooker setting out...I said "hey is that the one I gave you for xmas?" She responded with "Um, actually that one is sitting on a shelf up there...we used it & it started smoking from the instrument panel. We thought it was just because it had been in storage but then it really really started to smoke"
  14. I know I purchased the DS Lite for $99 last September from Target, so I think with the DsXL out on the market now & the DS3d about to hit the scene, that there is a very good chance that both the DS Lite & the DSi will go cheaper for BF
  15. If we start out late Tday night, then I'll bring: Folding camp chair Sleeping bag Book/magazine/Mp3 Possibly cards Dress in layers Ads - most times I have them memorized, but people in line are always so thankful to take a second look at them Cash, dispersed into every pocket I'm wearing ATM card & ID Hubby &/or Friends
  16. I was 34ish weeks pregnant with my ydd on Black Friday. I started shopping the outlet mall @ midnight & continued through until 9am in the morning. While I did have some braxton hicks later in the day, everything was fine. Just make sure to bring some water with you & take breaks when you can.
  17. This is crazy! I was hoping to get Kohls out of the way before I headed out to stand in line at Target...doesn't look like that's going to happen. ERRGHHH
  18. Not sure if this has been covered somewhere or not already, however, do you guys think the $9 block buster movies, like Star Trek, G.I Joe, will go quickly, or if I get there later in the morning say around 8 or 9, that I will still be able to pick them up? Thanks!
  19. I went to Kohls last year. Arrived about 5 minutes after opening & headed straight in. My first pick in color for the reversable alt. down comforter was already gone but I got it in my second choice. They are offering it again this year (I think the same price as last year) and it has held up great and is so warm & toasty! Picked up a few more things and while I have to say that the line was long...they did move us quickly...even directing people to any available jewelry counter register. I think we spent a total of 40 minutes in the store...if that. This year they are first on my list again and hoping for as pleasant an experience as last year!
  20. Lokster....I just saw a report on my 11am news...they were showing a Best Buy in Sacramento that already had approximately 3 tents camping out. It looked as if it was shot early this morning or last night. So yeah....you better head to line now!
