  1. Will do!

The one that says "Help where am I?" I don't think is a GPS because I found it in the Toys & Games category. I'm thinking it's a Where's Waldo book :D

Okay great I feel so much better! I hope it is in the day or evening, because between 4:30 and 7:30 EST I'm no where near a computer. Thanks for that tidbit I'll be sure to search by catergory in the future on those.

  2. I'm not sure. I saw it mentioned on a few other sites that sometime between 11/22 and 11/25 Amazon would be having a $79.99 Garmin that normally retails for $249.99.

Soooo checking out the upcoming deals there is one upcoming deal ? with no details at 2:00 p.m. PST and one at 3:00 PST and then one at 2:00 pm PST that has a question mark and says "Help where am I?"

I totally will not be on at that time. I am soooo bummed right now. Did anyone ever figure out if there was a mobile site address for them?

I see Garmin nüvi 285W/285WT 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic says retail $249.99 and slightly discounted and Garmin nüvi 1300 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator with Lifetime Map Updates retail $219.99 now $159.99. If it is one with Lifetime map updates I would definitely want that deal! If I see it I will snag and alert you and you do the same!

  4. Okay so I am now totally worried. The TomTom XL 350TM 4.3" GPS System w/ Lifetime Traffic & Maps is now showing as "sold out online". I had it in my cart so that when it became available on Thursday (hopefully since it is not a doorbuster) that I'd just have to wait for the price to change and click a button. But now it is no longet in my cart and showing up as sold out. Anyone think that will change Friday, or is that them saying that it will not be available online?

Phew! Fell much better now, it now says coming soon. I can't add it to my cart as of yet, but at least now I feel like I can get it.

  5. My husband was in Best Buy today. Bought a Toshiba laptop. It's price came up same as Black Friday! So he bought it. He said entire store was filled with black shrink wrapped pallets. The laptops were on one, but opened. Employee sold it to me at the BF price. Was so happy! We had $200 in BB giftcards so we got a really cheap out of pocket laptop.

That is awesome! I got a $300 Laptop package online 3 years ago from them and I had a $300 gift card so go the laptop, case, printer and only paid tax and shipping.

  6. Sears used to give out snow globes to the first 100 people in line...

Target Gives out resuable bags, Sports Authority gift cards ranging from $10 to $300 (my brother was next to the lady that got the $300 last year) to the first 100 or so, and JCPenny gives out snow globes more than 100 actually I think.

I would love some coffee and food though!

  8. Just got the Blind Side and Slumdog Millionaire. I am excited about stocking up on some of these before hitting Wal-Mart, Meijer and Target.

Looks like they have a few more deals with pics as well as clues pretty much telling you what's coming next. Twilight movies just became available and they will have a bunch of seasons of friends available later today.

  9. OK...I'm not a camper anyway, but I was thinking about getting to Target early. Our weather man just said Thanksgiving day is in the 30's, blustery, and snow flurries. I love the cold weather, especially for shopping for Christmas but not thrilled about standing in line when it's windy and cold. Are you changing your plans at all or are you going to stick it out? I may hit my local walmart so I can be nice and warm lol. Of course this is Ohio, it can be 70 one day and 20 the next and our weather people are notoriously wrong mucjh of the time.:yup:

Man here for metro Detroit MI I am looking at 63 degrees on Monday and 33 with flurries on Thursday, 33 and windy Friday!

  10. No. Traffic updates will provide your GPS with traffic info like this http://www.traffic.com/Philadelphia-Traffic/Philadelphia-Traffic-Reports.html in real time so that the GPS can help guide you around traffic jams (in larger cities that have coverage).

Map updates are just that, the ability to download the latest maps through your computer to the GPS to update it for new roads, renaming of old ones, new housing developments and also new POI (points of interest). POI updates are also very important for new businesses that crop up, change names, go out of business, etc.

Ideally you want both free map updates and free traffic, but map updates are potentially more important. Traffic is really only handy in larger cities and or travel to larger cities (vacations, business trips, etc.)

Thanks such a big help! Since I have a Best Buy Gift Card, I'll try for the Best Buy for close to $50 one online at $99.99 with lifetime traffic and maps. I definitely don't do any city driving and don't really need traffic but if I ever go on vacation. I do need the maps for sure! If I can't get that on-line then I'll go for the Amazon.com one.

  11. If your looking for a good deal on a TomTom, you can get a TomTom 540 TM (free lifetime traffic and maps), with a 5" display at Amazon on sale and with a promo code for additional 20% off. Regular priced at $216, on sale for $166 and additional promo code takes it down to $133. Excellent bargin.

Go here http://www.amazon.com/TomTom-Widescreen-Portable-Navigator-Lifetime/dp/B003B3P2CY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1290082455&sr=8-1 and put in code TOMTOM20 before check out and you'll get the additional 20% off. I just ordered on and they are still in stock.

I'm glad this forum is here and was resurrected because man I definitely would've been off track with this one! Thanks for the info because basically this is the exact same deal that will be available at Best Buy for around the same price, now that I have a good understanding of it!

  12. Not only does the 540TM have a larger screen, it also comes with free map updates. When you consider that map updates are around $70 when purchased for a unit like Target's 345, the 540TM can be a unit you keep for the long haul vs. replacing in two years because the maps are dated and it's cheaper to just buy a new unit...

I'm definitely looking for one with free map updates. What in the world is Lifetime Traffic vs. map updates? I thought Lifetime Traffic included the map updates.

What's the spec differences between this and the TomTom 345 being offered at Target? Are you just paying for a bigger screen or how much more are you getting?

  14. I don't plan on going for any of the 5am doorbusters so I was wondering how the midnight sale will work. Will those items be on a wrapped pallet or will they just be sitting out? I was just wondering if I could go & add the items to my cart & wait until 12:01 to check out. Thanks for any info you can give! :)

    Wondering the same thing.
