  1. Finally got stuff to work. I have had to place 5 orders so far...

Yup same here with multiple orders. I placed 7 orders and the credit card called wondering what the heck was going on. I told them to blame Best Buy for only allowing 1 of each per order, lol. Could have done it in less orders but as soon as I had a few items I checked out rather than have them tell me they ran out. Now let's just hope I find out before BF if anything was cancelled.

  2. If you are talking about the Samsung Tab 2, I just checked out with the GC with no prob. Try adding it through the home page and not going through the RZPS email link. It will all come off when you get to the cart.

THANK YOU SSSSOOOOOOO MUCH. With your help and the links I was able to get the items, otherwise I would have been S.O.L.

Just wondering if they can't fulfill the orders how long before you get the email? I still plan to be first on line at Best Buy, HOWEVER, unless any of the items are cancelled I got everything I intended to get at Best Buy already. I can get 2 of the $99 tvs for my sister and choose a laptop I want and the other mystery deals they officially post on Wednesday night, but I got a heads up on a few items that will make it worthwhile to get there early, besides, it's tradition that I start the line at Best Buy every year, lol.

  3. This is a Best Buy test... it is only a test... had we had the items in stock you could have actually ordered them... BUT THE JOKES ON YOU!!! SUCKERS!!!

That's the next message I expect to see after the 'blizzard" is cleared up... Funny how they were prepared with cute graphics but not able to keep the site up!

  4. With most of the lists out, just wondering what peoples plans are this year. Normally I would go to Walmart and Sears after Best Buy, but with them opening so much earlier I don't think I'll even bother with those stores this year. It's a shame that the stores are all trying to open earlier and earlier, and in fact I know quite a few people the usually go to those stores that are not going because they feel that they are opening too early and either refuse to shop there or they are planning to be on line for another opening that will keep them from being at those stores. I have been, and will be first on line at Best Buy again this year. Best Buy opens at midnight, so by the time I get out of Best Buy, Walmart and Sears will have sold most of their good items so what's the point of wasting the time to even look in those stores? The stores opening earlier thought they would get more business, not only will they not be getting mine, but many others refuse to go to those stores for that reason. I took a poll on Facebook of what time most people get home Thanksgiving, and most get home around 9pm. For those stores opening at 8, they aren't going to bother because they won't be there in time, and when they get home they need a little break before going out shopping. The earliest most said they will go is 11pm or midnight. Bad move Walmart, Sears, KMart, and ToysRUs. I hope it comes back to bite you in the rear!
  5. lol well for me all it took were one large TV purchase twice over the past few years. If you shop BB it is worth it, expedited shipping, easy returns, and deals!! The BF early access to me is worth every penny. While I wait in line I will have gotten the online items a day before I can focus on other stuff.

lol, i was on line last year and scored a few of the deals. Where's the fun of not being in the line???

  6. They say that to cover themselves in case they don't offer them online, but many of those items have been online in past years.

Yup always protecting themselves, but it gives them the OPTION rather than be required to offer them or not to offer them. In past years many of the doorbusters will be available online, IF you are lucky enough to grab them.

  7. Wish these retailers would make it like it used to be, early Friday morning, not Thursday.

It's technically not Black Friday anymore, so they either need to stop calling it that or open Friday instead. LOL

I agree. As a veteran of about 19 years of doing Black Friday, it has changed A LOT, and I don't like it. Yes I am an addict and I will still be camping out a few days early, but it's not so much for the deals any more as it is for the tradition and trying to retain my "crown" as the current 3 time first on line at Best for 2009, 2010, 2011, as well as 2007 and 2006. ok so 2005 and 2008 someone beat me, lol. Fact is my biggest concern is making sure I'm first at all cost even though many of the items I'm getting can either be bough early online since they are not doorbusters or in other stores for the same price or close, althoug some of the items include a BB gift certificate, another new thing BB is doing this year. At least MOST places did away with the rebates... I hated having to mail in 30 rebates every year for Circuit City, Staples, and many of the other retailers. I think Staples is one of the only ones left that has rebates, and I haven't bothered shopping there for the past few years since I can get other items similar without the hassle of laying the money out to get it back 6 weeks later.

  8. Forget Black Friday, it is rapidly becoming Black Thursday. What happened to everything but the gas station being closed on Thanksgiving. All the people who work in retail for Black Friday no longer get to enjoy their Thanksgiving. Such a shame. You used get the paper with all the ads on Thursday and spend all day planning for Black Friday but long gone are those days. After spending all day Thanksgiving cooking an entertaining I am ready for bed at 8pm for a few hours of sleep before waking in the middle of the night to go get in line for the 5am-6am store openings. Now you do not even get time to digest your Thanksgiving meal before having rushing out the door at 6pm for the 8pm opening!! To me the earlier and earlier store openings are ruining my Black Friday tradition. I miss the old Black Friday's. :( Personally I blame K-mart 1st (For being open on Thanksgiving) & Wal-Mart 2nd (For the earlier & earlier doorbuster times) for my Black Friday being ruined.

All I can say to that is THANK YOU GOTTADEAL.COM FOR POSTING THE ADS EARLY ENOUGH THAT WE CAN MAKE OUR CHOICES BEFORE THE OFFICIAL ADS COME OUT IN THE PAPER ON THANKSGIVING DAY!!!!!
  9. I am an old timer Black Friday shopper back when everyone I knew thought I was nuts to be going out shopping at 6am! (yes, Best Buy used to open at 6am on Black Friday about 10 years ago and I was able to arrive at 5:45 and still buy front page items). Now that Black Friday is a news event and everyone knows about it, I don't think brick and morter Black Friday shopping is targeting the well educated extreme deal shoppers. Those consumers are doing research, reading blogs, websites etc. and they know that the best way to shop is online, cherry pick Black Friday extreme deals and shopping on other days. Retailers need foot volume and items to be purchased in their very high overhead stores, not just used as research centers for online purchases. I think these new store hours are looking for those people without the time or desire to do a lot of research to find the best deals, those not willing to shop in the middle of the night and those people who find the experience fun (something for everyone). They assume all purchases on Black Friday are a great deal. The real profit margin is in all the non-door buster items that people pick up because they are already in the store and everyone around them is shopping. This year I am going out but like last year most of my real shopping will already be done on my computer. I am now taking my 13 year old daughter out with a group as a social outing. Last year we went and a lot of her friends were talking about it ahead of time, posting on social media sites pictures of themselves at 3am and then talking about it afterwards. I have to admit that with my daughter with me, we bought a lot of items just because we were out. Now we need to decide "when" to shop for this experience. I am not willing to shop from 8pm Thanksgiving night throughout the entire night. hmmmm ...

The stores are realizing people will line up regardless of how good the deals are at this point. They used to go all out for Black Friday and place all the best sales on that 1 day. Now they spread the deals out every weekend with early openings, etc. The deals get worse, the start times earlier, and they don't put all their best deals in a day sale.

  10. Do you guys think you shop for a longer or shorter overall time in stores because of the Thursday night openings?

Well I'll probably be first on line for about 4 or 5 stores due to the different time openings. Priority #1 is first for Best Buy, so anything before that is out. After that I can do Lowe's, Harbor Freight and others and possibly hit a few others. In between I may make a stop at other stores that are open. I will have my list with me of what opens when, etc. Might be an idea for an official thread with a list of all start times that is updated as new ads come out.

  12. I have never shopped at Best Buy on black friday before, and I'm pretty sure there is no chance of me getting the item I want because I refuse to spend 2 days before txgiving in line, however, I'm wondering wht my chances are of scoring the Galaxy Tablet for $179.00 online??????????

Does anyone know if I can try to get it online? The ad didn't say anything about being in store only. What are your experiences of getting things online versus at the actual store?

Every year, my sister and I used to watch the police and and the crazy ppl fighting in the best buy lines. I'm too old for that crap!!!!! I LOVE black friday and the excitement, but I;ll stick to spending txgiving with my family eating and listengin to my family argue!!! lol:)

    any input would be appreciated!

If you check the Comparison charts, the same tablet in a few other stores for the same price, just without the $30 Best Buy gift card, so actually a little more but same "price", minus the gift card.

  13. Any word on more doorbusters coming from Best Buy?

No word on them yet but usually late Wednesday night they will post a few items on their website. They have done it every year for the past 3 or 4 years. Sometimes they are good deals, other times they aren't that great. In many cases, if you wait for those ads though you will not get them any way since those on the line WILL know about them and grab them.

  14. I always find it amusing when people declare their unwillingness to go out on Black Friday, then throw their concerns to everyone on here when their chances are obviously and drastically reduced! Luckily, for those persons who shop online there is always the chance of grabbing some item that is not a high demand, low stock item. Real Black friday veterans have learned to shop throughout the year and augment their stash by online sales when possible. Nothing will ever replace the shared personal shoppping experiences brick and mortar stores offer to the Black Friday shopper.

I have a few things I'm interested in at Best Buy, but even though some I can get without the lines, what's the fun in that?? lol. I intend to get to Best Buy nice and early and be first again more out of tradition and the spirit of competition than any deals I may get.

  15. Gameplan :

Next week, visit the mall where Best Buy is located. Speak to director of security for any new rules this year and find out what the plan is and if they are changing the location of the line again.

Message my contacts at the local paper to cover the story as they usually do.

Check equipment. Get chairs ready. Buy more propane for my heater. Load everything in the garage for easy loading into the car when I'm ready to go.

Stand on line for a few days at Best Buy, then hit Lowes when they open, but in the mean time hit a few other stores nearby.
