  1. Nope, they're notoriously one of the last to post their ad, and if it leaks early they threaten lawsuits. Sadly I usually have my gameplan set before they release their ad, and if I go there at all it's an afterthought when I finish my original plan.

  2. Started with early "Black Friday Prices Now" deals in Best Buy. Bought a 75" Samsung QLED TV and 2 55" Samsung TVs. Then came the Elite Early Online deals for Best Buy. Bought Echo Show 2nd generation, Echo Show 1st generation, 3 Echo Dot 3rd generations, 4 starter packs of Phillips Hue lights, a few of the $10 Insignia Wave 2 speakers, Samsung Chromebook, Kindle, Ring Doorbell Pro w/ free Alexa Dot 3rd generation. Picked up a Laptop for my sister that she needed. She tried getting the Walmart one online and it sold out immediately, this was going to be the backup in case she couldn't get the Walmart one... Well sometimes the backup plan is required... lol

Kohl's - Heating blankets and sheet sets, Google Home Hub, 2 dog beds, 2 Google Minis, and a few other items. All except the electronics were 35% off Black Friday price if you applied for a Kohls card... so save where you can, and I got the card...

Walmart - Samsung soundbar with surround sound, Sony speakers, more WiFi lights (which so far seem to suck in comparison to the Phillips Hue lights, I guess you get what you pay for), charger cords, shop vacs (something I buy a few of every year, lol), a few games, mvies, and other small items.

Sears - Tools... lots and lots of tools, lol

GameStop - $69.99 XBox 360 (our other just broke last week and we have about 60 games that do not work on our XBox One S or XBox One X) Free after $70 rebate!!! SCORE! Plus a few games.

Five Below - Crap the kids picked out for stocking stuffers, lol

BJ's - First time ever buing here on Black Friday... bought the 15' trampoline and a Frigidaire ice maker... headphones...

I went to Kohl's today about noon and the line was 3/4 of the way around the store.  I gave my $10 off to an older lady waiting at the end of the line.  It wasn't worth it to wait as I was only getting the pajamas.

Kohl's here had only about 150 people total in line when they opened. There was room to move freely in the store, and I even broke the sacred rule.. and got a carriage this year! Lines were not bad anyplace I went.

  3. Nice. I just ordered nearly everything I wanted at Best Buy and it was delivered today. Normally I would be first on line there regardless, but the parking lot is under construction and is a disaster. Even 2 weeks ago there was NO PARKING because 3/4 of the mall owned parking lot was collapsing again and is being rebuilt... AGAIN. Just the normal routine that happens about every 2 years or so. At least it wasn't a complete collapse like it did 5 years ago when numerous cars were crushed, luckily no injuries... However, best not to get stuck where they only have a single lane in and out and the traffic is going to be a mess and there will be no parking by about 1pm.
  4. WOW... after 28 years of doing Black Friday, and for the past 14 years being first at Best Buy... why bother?? This ad is highly disappointing. I was hoping for some nice items and already had plans to be first in line. Well, when I went to the local Best Buy, their parking lot was under construction, every lane in was a dead end, and there were not enough parking spots.... and it's not even Black Friday! This is in a mall where Best Buy has no control, and I spoke to the managers there, who I have become friends with over the years, and they are livid that their store is going to have tons of problems Black Friday. Only 1 entrance ramp in and out... and every lane is a dead end because they are working on the lot... I actually had to back out after getting to the end with no way out except to back up. Last year they had a 55" TV for $179, this year they have a 43" for $129? Who the hell buys 43" TVs any more? Well rather than waste time and effort on Black Friday, I bought 3 TVs at Best Buy (still my favorite store, and I need to reach my Elite Plus status for 2018). Bought myself the 75" Samsung QLED, and used that as a way to bargain down the price on "open-box specials" including the same Samsung 55" in the ad for $399, I bought an open box one for about $335, as well as the 55" 7 series for $445. Going to probably buy the rest of the items I want from Best Buy online, and avoid the wait all day on Black Friday and hit Walmart or Target or even Kohl's instead.

  5. There’s nothing I really need this year besides some Blu-ray’s and an Apple Watch 4th gen for BF but I’m curious as to what people think are the best deals so far in the ads we have out now?

So far, Kohl's seems to be the most interesting ad, followed closely by Target. There were actually a few decent deals in BJ's, however I am waiting on the Best Buy ad. I am looking to get either a 75" or 82" Samsung TV and either UHD or QLED. I also saw that there is a Premium UHD, I will research the specs on the top TV deals before I make my finally decision. Not really sure how much of a difference there is between UHD, Premium UHD, and QLED... other than significant price differences, lol. I don't think I need the QLED and the UHD should be fine, but I will do my research before finalizing anything.

  6. Wonder how early I would have to get to Target to be able to get that $199 55" 4k TV on the first page...

That is a 55" Element brand TV. Piece if junk. Best Buy will have a name brand probably 55" or better for $179 this year, maybe less. In the past they usually have Toshiba or Sharp brand for that price. That is the much better deal but often only about 12 per store so you have to be early.

Sleep in and wait for the Best Buy ad.

Agreed. Best Buy always has either Sharp or Toshiba for less. Oetso ally I get the TV every year and prefer the Sharp over Toshiba. I'll be grabbing at least 2 at my Best Buy this year.

  7. Sears shouldn’t bother....there are none left open....

NO! Please have a good ad Sears! I am looking for the usual Craftsman tools, and they often have many other great items. Fortunately, the Sears by me once again made the cut and will remain in business... at least for a little while longer. In fact, I have bought during many promotion deals, such as buy $300 and get $300 back, but split into 6 monthly refunds to my ShopYourWay card. I have been getting back over $100 a month from those promotions.

  8. I think my son is as excited as I am for them to start coming out. He wants a PS4 and I have convinced him to wait till BF to buy it. He saw the one in the Same one day sale and wants to pull the trigger but if I can find it somewhere else for less he may wait.

Patience... I'm sure they will have them on sale. I refuse to replace electronics almost all year waiting for the Black Friday deals, lol. For game systems, I would check Gamestop ads, Walmart, Best Buy, Target. Some may be priced a little higher but have gift cards or added bonuses such as games.

  9. Do we usually get a Verizon Wireless ad? I noticed that it's not on the dates page.

Yes, they will post it when they get it. The dates shown are for the major ads. Verizon, as well as Rite Aid, and about 100 other ads are not listed because they are not major ads, and each ad he researched probably took him about 5 - 10 minutes per ad to estimate the release date based on the past 12 years of data he had to go on.

Can't wait to see the Best Buy ad. I am already working on my plan to remain first on line again this year, regardless of what the ad has, lol. It's a family tradition, lol

I'm looking forward to seeing a Kmart ad this years (as I am every year), but this year it will determine whether I even go that early on Thanksgiving morning...their sale last year was basically non-existent when we went at the usual time, but we were unaware since the store was open at 6 am as usual...we found it quite strange that they didn't have any store ads available for the customers (per the conversation with the manager), but he did manage to give us some of the usual deals on the throws and comforter sets... Kmart may be on it's last leg with the few stores they have left and if this year's BF sale is as lack luster as last year's I know I won't be in any rush to shop there...

Sadly, the last Kmart within 50 miles is currently having a liquidation sale... and they are not honoring any sales in other locations :-(

I think pretty much the same as they have been the past few years. About 5 or 6 pm. JC Penney will likely be 3pm as usual. I still remember when Black Friday was on FRIDAY! lol. Stores used to open at 7am Friday, lol.

    Friday is now forbidden, lol.

Wasn’t Walmart’s first sale at 3pm last year/the previous year? I’m hoping they do push it back to 5 or 6pm at least. I’m not holding out hope for a push back to Friday unfortunately.

Walmart did one lackluster sale last year. Let's hope that they knock one out of the park this year.

I don't think Walmart started until 6pm. I believe they remained open all day, but you could not get the doorbusters (or at least pay for them) until 6pm. To be honest, I was on line at Best Buy waiting for them to open, but I will check the archives CONFIRMED, Walmsrt both online and in stores started at 6PM!

  11. Do we usually get a Verizon Wireless ad? I noticed that it's not on the dates page.

Not everything is listed, just the main ads. Honestly, Best Buy and Walmart usually have better deals on phones On Black Friday than Verizon. I have been a Verizon customer for the past 16 years, and I upgrade my phones every 2 years. One more note, where Best Buy often states a gift card amount, they usually offer even more when you get there. 2 Years ago I upgraded my phones, the ad stated $250 gift card with purchase. When I got there they mentioned that they received an email that morning and they were offering $400 not $250. This is not the first time they have done that. It is actually quite often. I think it happened 4 years ago as well that they offered more than the ad stated.

  12. The past 5 or 6 years the deals are nothing like they used to be. The best deals went away after the closing of Circuit City. There are decent prices, but nothing like the good old days of KB Toys, Circuit City, Comp USA, Caldors, etc. As the competition left, so did the deals. Many of the deals are found online now... but after 27 years of going to brick and mortar where I am always first, not about to risk possibly getting the items online when the servers get overloaded and then 7 days later you find that they ran out and you are SOL.

  13. #1 - Now that I've been on this line for the past week... let's see if there's anything I want here... (been there, done that, except I have GottaDeal to see the ads early, except those last minute Best Buy items posted the night before)

#2 - Look at all those idiots freezing outside while we just stand here doing nothing.

#3 - Going for the pass...

  14. Doing Best Buy online was a disaster. After fighting with it for over 2 hours, I finally got my order placed.... then went to mail and saw that it actually went through a few times As of now I have the same order coming to me 3 times on Tuesday, lol. Oh well, I'll just bring 2 orders back to the store for a refund, lol. I could have gotten done sooner if I knew the order went through already, but I kept getting errors and unavailable messages.
