  1. Thanks for the information. I was beginning to think that someone at the station had lost their minds!!
  2. We were visiting family in St. Louis last weekend and my DH ran to a friends house for a while and when he came back he said one of the radio stations was playing Christmas music 24/7 already! Okay, I love Christmas, I mean, I REALLY love it, but playing Christmas music before Halloween? This is a little too extreme, even for me. So, if you're in the area and need a little holiday spirit, tune into 101.1.
  3. My parents never did stockings for us when we were little, but I do them for my family now. They don't get filled until Christmas Eve. I know some people give their stockings on St. Nicholas's arrival, which if I'm not mistaken is somewhere around December 7th? I think this is mostly a Catholic thing, but I could be wrong. What do you do?
  4. Does anyone know when the holiday edition of TV Guide comes out? I love planning out the Thanksgiving and Christmas shows so I can either sit down and actually watch them, or set my DVR. I'll watch pretty much anything holiday related. I got a kick out of all the Food Network shows the last two years about Thanksgiving and got a few good recipes!
  5. For the last couple of weeks, I've been doing Christmas shopping every Wednesday evening. DH and DS3 have a "boys night" every Wednesday and I get to go do what I want! It's wonderful!!! Anyway, I only have 5 people left to buy for and they are my 5 hardest, so I always leave them til the end. I have vowed to be done by the end of October and I'll start wrapping in November. Stacy
  6. I only have 5 people left to buy for and then I have to finish some homemade Christmas ornaments. I want to be done by Halloween so I can just sit back and enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas and not have to worry about fighting the crowds for that last Christmas present. Stacy
  7. When I was little I always got a Hallmark ornament marking some event from the past year or just something I was into at the time and I have carried on that tradition with my DS3. At some point during the season, we all sit down and watch "It's A Wonderful Life". Also, our town puts on a lighted Christmas parade the weekend after Thanksgiving and it is always a treat! A few years back, my Mom and Dad seemed to have a little fire in the house every year at Christmas and we were afriad that was going to become a tradition. We actually started calling it the "Annual Christmas Fire!" Luckily it hasn't happened for a while! Stacy
  8. We have a very traditional tree. Mostly red and green ornaments with "family" ornaments throughout. My tree has the option of either white lights or multi-colored lights. I usually turn both on, but in the evening I turn the white off so it's not so bright. I also add two strands of colored lights that have a twinkling effect. I used to use garland, but DH's family always used tinsel and he convinced me to try it one year and I love it!! My tree-topper is a Santa Claus. Our basement is decorated in a western motif, so on that tree I've got burnished metal ornaments with checkered material as garland. Can't wait to get them out!!! Stacy
