Just came across this info
It actually changes things for me as I have AT&T; I can do better than $100 on a regular day. I don’t know if that’s worth getting up early and standing in line...

I stopped by my Sam’s last weekend and I was told they would probably have a line building at 5:00 in the morning for a 7:00 opening and that when they opened the line would go to the optical department to sign up for an appointment. And of course, everything is on a first come/first served basis.
Every store will have a different process; we’ve shopped this location for the one day sale and Black Friday. It’s always the same procedure; the employees come out with drinks and snacks before the store is opened and they walk the line to hand out tickets, take info for phones...keep in mind: you aren’t just signing up for an appointment; each phone is attached to a phone company, different memory sizes, color. I am appreciative of the way my location handles it because it’s less chaotic.

Our holiday dinners are always myself, DH, and the children just for this reason. I refuse to subject myself or my children to drama on what should be a day of joy and thankfulness. We have had comments from family members on both sides; we have held our ground.
If family want to plan something another day and we are free, we will try and stop by. But both Thanksgiving and Christmas belong to us and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the Beats wireless headphones I ordered yesterday during the Black Friday preview on my porch today. I hope Target can keep it up!

No, the $79 tree is 7.5 feet. The trees seem to be from the same line though.I think that is the $79 tree everyone is talking about.

Just ordered the Beats solo for DD15. Today is my busiest day at work and this is the ad I was waiting for.

Thanksgiving is 3 weeks away! So much to do in so little time; I’m patiently waiting for Target’s ad.

How early do you think you have to get there?
I was there around 4:30 in my car, in line outside a little after 5. Sounds early but I was also back home by 8:30.

On the phone deals: It says you get $300 gift card with the activation of a phone. Does this mean you can just buy the phone outright with no contract? I need a new phone and I don't want to switch carriers, change my phone number, or lease. I am with Sprint and want to stay with them. Just want a new phone that I can pay for out of pocket and own. I guess I am confused by the phrasing of "with activation".
Considering it says “with purchase and activation on installment or subsidy of select iPhones”, I believe you have to sign up for an installment or subsidy plan. I can’t speak for Sprint but I know AT&T allows you to pay your installment off whenever you want. So there’s nothing stopping me from signing on for an installment plan, getting the gift card, and then paying the phone off the next day.

My location has done appointments in the past. 2016 I was the second person in line for an iPhone; the couple before me upgraded their children. I was home by 8:30. By the time they got to the end of the line outside, they were giving appointments in the evening. My plan once again is to get there early and get in line so appointment or not, I’ll be one of the first.I stopped in our Sams yesterday to see if they were taking appointments that day for phones. They said no. I said ok. I hope it isn't a long wait like some said last year was. We really need to replace one. Then hubby can use the gift card toward one of the tv's he wants. (I'm thinking he wants the 65") But, personally I think the 55" is a really good deal if size matters. I do agree the 40" is a good buy too.

I travel with my iPad. I usually download a series or two via Netflix and I’m set. I also have access to my iTunes library; I can download prior to leaving or anywhere with WiFi. Books are also downloaded to my iPad.

I’ll be there for my new iphone. If I didn’t already have AirPods, I would be picking those up too.

The war for consumer’s money is heating up! I’m a big target shopper and I do have a red card but this is still great news.

Just wanted to give an update on my issue with hanging garland on my vinyl fencing...DH took metal straps that are for hanging ductwork and fashioned hooks to the exact width of the fence and my desired length; they look like hooks! I am so excited and so grateful to have my own personal construction worker [emoji4]
Here’s a pic of his first prototype [emoji23]

I don’t equate a lot of gifts or wants with being spoiled so the thought never crosses my mind. I have a per child budget that I like to stay around. My kids are spread out in age (22, 15, 11, 8) so the number of gifts never match and I don’t even try to make it. They pretty much get everything they ask for and a few things they didn’t.

I got the Veteran's Day sale flier for this year last night and I don't see any phones
Could you have actually received their holiday mailer that covers the next month or so? It’s a little early for the Veterans Day flier plus Brad posted the flier I mentioned and they actually show phones as a highlight of the one day sale coming that weekend. I’m away this weekend so I won’t get to see my mail until next week:

Thank you. Do you know if they usually carry Ross or Starbucks giftcards? The closest CVS or Walgreens is at least 40 minutes from us, but I would pick up a few other things in that area while I am there.
The CVS having Ross gift cards may depend on if there is a store in the general area. There should be no problem getting Starbucks gift cards there though. I’ve found that the CVS’s near me have a pretty decent variety of gift cards.

We open one at a time at our house and with my family. My husband's family is bigger so it ends up being more of a free for all as the little ones get restless.
Here's one for you... Do you put the gifts in one big pile or do you separate by recipient? My husband and I debate this every year.[/quote
We usually separate by family and for the last few years everyone gets their own wrapping paper so it's a little easier to find gifts
I do one big pile with certain gifts being strategically placed. I like to see the kids interacting as they open their gifts; passing gifts to each other, guessing what it might be, etc.

Another rec for the Home Depot tree; it’s 7.5 feet. This will be our third year with it and I am buying another one so that I can let go of the older family room tree. It’s a great tree!
Watch out for the older women there for poinsettia’s; it can get a little rough [emoji23]
