  1. Black Friday actually used to be a holiday for me (Thanksgiving always is). Although, Black Friday is no longer an automatic holiday, it's been years since we weren't given the day off (state employee).
  2. Same here; it seems that I get one or the other mailed to my home weekly. Then there's the coupons they email to you. I have a store like 2 minutes from my job so I can easily run there at lunch or after work.
  3. Thanksgiving is on the 22nd in 2018 so those dates don't even line up for that...
  4. I refuse to buy things with mail in rebates. This time of year, I'm far too busy to remember to send them off in time...if you're not diligent, it ends up being wasted money.
  5. No need for a binder as I no longer feel the need to print ads out. The bulk of my prep is on my phone. I use the app, Santa's Bag; it allows you to enter budget, people you're shopping for, and the items you want. It even allows you to check off if it's planned, purchased, and even if you've already wrapped it. The day of will see a paper list that I've written out with each store I plan on hitting, what items are needed, and price. I travel lightly the day of; swing purse underneath my jacket or hoodie. On my computer I have a spreadsheet where I enter each gift purchased and if it's an online order, it's noted when it's actually delivered.
  6. Last day is Saturday, 11/5.
  7. The buy one, get one Star Shower is a decent deal if they're going for the usual $39.99.
  8. Our menu is pretty much the same each year; I cook for my house (6 people in total) and my mom joins us. Spiral ham Fried party wings Baked macaroni and cheese Baked candied yams Cornbread stuffing Cornbread String beans Mashed potatoes Sweet potato pie Some sort of cheesecake Assorted cookies And of course, cranberry sauce!
  9. Received my book in the mail yesterday with a few coupons as well.
  10. Hopefully, Thanksgiving weekend. The outside will take longer this year as we had to take down all the ice sickle lights when we had the siding painted. I put up two trees and I think I want to change the color scheme on the main one this year; off to Pinterest for some ideas!
  11. Target, Wal-Mart, and Best Buy. I'm really hoping Target comes through on high value gift cards for Apple products bc I'm looking for the 7plus (upgrade for me) and an iPod touch/iPad...
  12. Fellow Cowboys fan here [emoji112]
  13. Another cartwheel lover here! I'm currently at 34 spots and love combining sales, gift card offers, cartwheel, and red card [emoji4] The 50% off toy a day is great! Even if I don't get any big items; a lot of what they offer make for great stocking stuffers.
  14. I don't know why I never thought of the extra school supplies but thanks!! This may be my go to teacher gift from now on.
  15. I definitely miss KB Toys...I have fond memories of the location at a local mall; they would hand you big clear trash bags as you entered. You would pick up your stuff in the center of the store and since the check-out line snaked through each aisle, you would shop while you were in line. Great times!!
  16. I'm opening the gd app multiple times per day now so it's officially my favorite season! Great contest, Brad!
  17. Sam's has never opened on Thanksgiving, that I can recall, so this isn't something new for them...the fact that they're a membership store probably makes it easier for them.
  18. I'm really hoping for a discount or great bundle deal on the Wii U...would like to get it for DD5; she loves all things Mario and with her age, there's no need to jump right to the new system that's due out sometime next year.
  19. Officially started today! There was a special pink outfit at VS for $40; got that for DD13 and added another sweatshirt for $35. There goes my productivity for the day [emoji12]
  20. I know you said you looked at last year's ad but I just wanted to add if your daughter is at all interested in the Pink line make sure you sign up for pink nation. It's free to join and they offer all types of deals & freebies year-round.
  21. I have a Christmas club account. I use credit cards for points, rewards, and then pay them off immediately. If you're diligent with your spending it's a great way to get more bang for your buck!
  22. I was very disappointed with the North Face outlet last Black Friday. There were some sales to be had but it seemed to be on the most random items. I hit the Ugg outlet last October and on Black Friday. They were both decent sales but the one in October was better; you can sign up for emails for the outlet and they will send you coupons when they offer them. That is how I got the great deal in October; I had a coupon giving an additional 25% off.
  23. The only thing on the list so far is a wiiU for DD5; I know the new Nintendo system should be released next year but she's still young enough that she won't mind this version.
  24. Huge thank you to momlori!! My SS gift was very special. I received: 3 packs of smarties, a holiday hand soap, some Cowboys items (including a iron on transfer [emoji4]), some hot chocolate and a lovely red throw blanket. I am having surgery on the 21st so the blanket will get plenty of use while I recover. Thanks again!!
  25. It's been such a rough day but my package was just shipped & tracking info sent!! ETA: came home to what I believe is my SS gift..I'm going to try and hold off on opening it.
