My spending for actual gifts will be about the same. The money is set aside throughout the year via savings and my Christmas Club account.
I have already started menu planning and sale shopping for the holiday meals though. Luckily I don’t cook for a big family and our Christmas dinner is much more relaxed/casual than Thanksgiving.

Walmart’s holiday return period started yesterday, 10/1/23.

I haven’t been out on BF in a few years, even prior to Covid. My youngest turns 13 tomorrow and as the kids get older, the gifts change and I don’t have much need to go out. I’m guessing anything that I need to get will be able to be ordered online.

I joined in 2007 but I remember lurking the first few years and sharing the ads with my friends so many fond memories. Black Friday is so different now but I still look forward to it and logging in to see the BF forums open.

I thought this would be a fun thread for people on the fence about buying things they're not sure they want or need.
I'll start - a cricut. I'm not a crafty person. I'm not sure what all it does, so convince me I need one!
I’ve had mine for a few years now. I’ve made so many things; home decor, personalized clothing, gifts, memorial items. There is a learning curve but you don’t have to jump in doing everything at first.
I have actually had people pay for me to make things.
I've often thought of buying a Cricut too but I don't need it for anything. Plus I don't have a crafty bone in my body. In elementary school our teacher would give us a project to do and would hold up an example. I would try to make mine look exactly like hers but it didn't even resemble it in any way, shape or form! lol
I guess I would need convinced to buy an air fryer. I've thought about them before but I don't want it taking up space on my counter when my oven does a good job.
I asked for and received an air fryer as a birthday present two years ago. Now, my family can’t imagine life without it; truly a great addition in any kitchen. You can cook so many things and it’s easy for kids to use as well. I now want to purchase a dual basket air fryer so we can do two things at the same time.

1. For me, I am expecting Target to have the best Black Friday ad.
2. No, with stores opting to remain closed on Thanksgiving and starting online sales earlier; there’s no need for me to physically go to the store.
3. Early AM openings. I miss going to sleep around 8-9 only to get up around 3 for the 4am /5am openings. I miss the camaraderie that came with standing in line together; helping each other get items and telling people about other deals at different stores.

We are closed on Thanksgiving and they usually give us Friday off as well. In my 17 years there, we’ve only not been given Black Friday off once. I always hold on to a use or lose day in case they opt to not give us the day.
I generally take Wednesday off as well so I can get a head start on my baking.

All of my Black Friday purchases were online. It felt funny not going out Friday but there was nothing that I needed and I just didn’t feel like dealing with the crowds.
Target (Sunday): 65 inch tv, a few beauty gift sets at 30% off, and a PlayStation Plus and Nintendo online membership.
Macy’s (Sunday): coat for DS14
Nike (Sunday): clothes for DS14
Walmart (Monday): 40 inch tv, gaming laptop, and 4’ Santa
Northface (Thanksgiving): coat for DD11

I had a mental order of priority for the things I wanted. Added to cart, checked out, and then went for the next item. Keep trying because they are known to release items in batches.I can't believe how FAST things sold out!!! My daughter cost me 3 early access items trying to debate through texting with her hubby!

My decision to get the Walmart+ membership paid off. I was able to get the 40 inch TV, the gaming laptop, and the 4’ decorative Santa.

Woke up at 6am and remembered I wanted to try for the 65 inch tv for $299. Ordered for store pick up at my closest Target (4-5 within 20 miles of me), ordered and it said I got the last one. Didn’t want to get screwed so I ordered another at the next closest store lol. I’ve already picked up one. I have until Wednesday to decide on the second one.

I miss the hustle of in-store shopping; I loved mapping out my store runs, hitting up the mall after all the important stuff.
I also miss TRU. It takes me back to when my kids were younger and still in to toys. Meeting new people in line; helping each other complete their lists. Great times!

Blaaa for me! Airpod Pro's are "on sale for $199" when they were $179 a few weeks ago. Did get the spend $100 on toys and got $25 off for the Our Generation sets, so a little savings there. But, hoping for better sales in the next month for BF!
I went ahead and used the toy coupons on Our Generations sets as well. I did two separate purchases to use both coupons and also to fulfill my spend $60 three times, get $25 back.

I don’t know what I expected but it was definitely more than what they are offering.

This is for the gamers who are into anime. My eleven year old just added this game to her Christmas list.

I really can’t believe that we still don’t have Target’s ad yet. This is shaping up to be a weird Black Friday in terms of planning.
