  1. I'll be following this for more advice. Honestly, last year I was just...let down with the whole BF experience. I really loved it when it was about getting in line for the stores to open, and only the hardcore were out. Last year we wandered into stores that were packed with people and their kids, itty bitty kids. I was just over it. I think this year we may all just congregate at my house with our laptops and iPads and shop in our jammies.

  2. I don't mind sharing my binder or good prices. I DO mind when I get handed a list and am expected to buy things for someone else. My mantra is "I will shop for your stuff once I get all of mine." I'm not going to miss out on a deal I'm wanting so I can get my MIL ANOTHER $3 appliance.

  3. Why do you recommend that one? I am thinking of getting a bread maker also but have never used one!

    Oster is a good brand.

The functionality of doing 1, 1.5 or 2 lb. loaves

The baking pan is horizontal, rather than vertical. The loaves have a nicer shape

Dough settings as well as jam setting

The lid is not a huge dome, which causes condensation and lessens the browning

and the removable lid is nice for cleaning.

The price is also good for an Oster brand.

If you end up getting it, let me know if you would like some recipes. I use my bread machine at least 3 times a week. :)

  4. That is one of my worst fears. I never carry cash, especially not on BF.

****Friendly reminder: Call up your CC companies and advise you will be shopping on BF to avoid fraud alerts. It happened to me a few years ago.

I never carry cash either! Luckily my mom was with me and had enough cash to cover me!

  5. A messenger bag with my BF binder. I make a spreadsheet for each store listing each item, the price, page on the ad, and any additional info (sizing, color, etc.) All the ads are in the back pocket of the binder. I also take my cell, gum, a water bottle and a bottle of Excedrin Migraine. :) This year I will be carrying more cash. Last year Walmart was a nightmare! Their credit card system went down and they couldn't do checks either. I'm hoping not to repeat that this year!
  6. I canned some bruschetta in a jar from my crop of tomatoes this summer. I'm planning on putting a jar of that, a loaf of french bread and maybe something else in a basket for my daughter's teacher. There is also an aide in her class in the morning and a different part time teacher in the afternoon. I figure I may do something a little smaller for them.
