  1. The Walmart PJs and movies for sure. The PJs always run small, so my kids get maybe two wears out of them before they shrink and pill. I bet we have 50 movies still in plastic that we've never watched but I bought because they were cheap. Last year I had to keep reminding myself not to buy them!

  2. I got a lot of flack when I posted a Hatchimal on a local site last year. A few thought that I should give it to them since they needed it more than me. Um, no. I spend a few hundred dollars every year on charity Christmas gifts as it is. I bought it with good intentions. My daughter just didn't want it. The kicker was that I wasn't even selling it! I was offering it as a trade. I eventually got a decent lawn mower for it. Nothing special and it was old but in good condition. I feel it was a very fair trade, but some people don't think things are fair unless they get something out of it.

Exactly. I had people saying I should donate it and others asking how I could sleep at night. I listed it for over the price I paid, but much less than eBay or Amazon. I stood in line for a couple of hours to get it. I ended up selling it for less that I originally asked, but still made a little bit extra. Then people were saying I should donate the money..they have no idea what I do with extra money I get..maybe I already do!

  3. Well I may have been right people here are already jacking up the pricesattachicon.gifImageUploadedByGottaDeal1504733260.385655.jpg

I managed to snag one at Walmart last week. It was $14.98, and when I checked eBay there were some going for $35. I'm gonna sit on mine a couple of weeks and try to turn a profit on eBay. ;)

I managed to get a Hatchimal last year and listed it on Facebook and got REAMED by some people. They were shocked that I'd try to sell it for more than I paid..sorry, don't like it? Don't buy it ;)

  4. Thanks wittenlover- my mom, sister, and I were all huddled around the screen trying to make those titles out. May have added a few more to the list now though!

Anyone have an experience with the enamel cookware like the Pioneer Woman set? I've heard it scratches pretty easily but only if you use metal utensils, not the plastic or silicone that comes with it. I need new pots and pans. My sister and I may be fighting over the aqua colored sets though, we both want it! Pretty sure it's going to be a hot item at our store, cookware is usually gone in the initial rush. They just bought a new house so the home-goods have her excited, her list is bigger then mine now. Going to need three carts this year instead of the usual two. She wants pretty much all the basic new appliances, cookware set, the dishes, and one of the big vacuums. Plus the usual toys, kids clothes, and movies. Fun-fun though, I love a challenge. :)

I have the PW pots and pans. I love them. I typically use silicone or wood utensils and haven't had any scratching. I've had mine about a year. I love the fact that they're dishwashwer safe.

  5. I was a stay at home mom for many years, but my husband took a vacation day to stay home so I could shop. I now work at a college, and the college is closed as part of Thanksgiving break :) Hubs still takes the day to stay home with the kids though.

  6. My mother in law was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and will be undergoing treatments so I'm in charge of the meal for 25ish people

    2 Turkeys- one smoked

    Mashed potatoes

    Noodles

    Cranberry-wild rice stuffing

    Broccoli-rice casserole

    Corn and bacon casserole

    mac and cheese

Brussels sprot, quinoa and cranberry salad

    Rolls

    Bourbon cranberry sauce

    Pumpkin Roll

    Pecan Pie

    Caramel apple cheesecake

  7. My aunt is a department manager for Walmart. She said last week they had a managers meeting and were told to plan schedules the same as last year (6pm, 8pm, etc) The District Manager acted surprised as he was told everything would be happening on Friday. Their schedule was put out, "subject to change". Also, she said they no longer get Holiday Pay for working. So if you call in sick, you only get 1 point, vs more since it is just your regular hourly rate. If it's just one point on their record, what's stopping anyone from calling in?

  8. We go to my In-Laws on Thanksgiving, but have it with my mom's family the weekend before. As far as Christmas goes, we do the In-Laws the weekend before, and my parents just some random day. Christmas Day is for MY family, at MY house :) Other holidays we will celebrate at other times as well. With big families, sometimes it is the only way to get together.

  9. We go to my husband's parents on Thanksgiving day. Menu will probably be roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, noodles, a vegetable of some sort and rolls. I'll make bourbon cranberry sauce, caramel pecan pie, chocolate pie, pecan pie cheesecake and pumpkin roll.

  10. I'm sorry for you and your children. My parents divorced when I was 16, and I remember it being weird at first. In time, we grew to create new memories and traditions and I hope the same for you all. :gdhug5:

I like the idea of dinner in the crockpot and taking in a movie on Christmas Eve. Drive through some lights on the way home, too!
