  1. I was all ready to put the 32" Olevia on layaway today at K-Mart and then get price adjustment on BF but the guy in electronics told me they don't allow any electronics purchase over $200 for layaway!!! That is so stupid because part of the object for layaway is for higher priced items that you don't have the money right then to pay for it fully to put on layaway and be able to pay over time. I was so mad!! I am going to call a few other Kmarts around here and see if they would do it. :(

I ran into that a while back also. They said that there was no layaway on computers or other electronics over $200 because people return them too often out of layaway and then they have to restock them and sometimes put them on clearance because they already have the newer models in. I guess it makes sense to them, but it doesn't help me any.

  2. The electronics department at KMart here in Lapeer, MI was insane. You couldn't move and it was mass confusion on what was available or not behind the counter. I wasn't looking for any of the stuff that you had to ask for, so I was just bumped around while trying to look at the movies. But I did hear some complaints that the electronics people were not very well informed. There were people waiting in line for the counter to get certain items that turned out to be on the shelf and some people were getting upset, that's when I made my exit.
  3. Kohl's seemed to be pretty well organized. There were associates coming outside to the people standing in line to tell them where items were located. BUT...they did not have 2 of the 3 specific things I wanted in stock. Another girl and I were the first ones to the video games and they did not have even 1 of the 2pk PS2 or Gameboy games in stock. And the electric blanket I wanted had something else stuffed into it's place and I was told that they sold out during last weekend's sales and did not get any more in stock. I am not too upset about it because I did have backup plans on those items. All in all, Kohl's was ok.
  4. The sales this weekend are still no match for the BF sales.

I was planning to get the Roomba for $99, but I went into the store today and it is the very basic model that comes with nothing. There is one on sale at buy.com right now that is normal $299 for $144 and it is not refurbished. Just an fyi.

I am going to be buying a heated throw - $25, reg $80 - they are $40 this weekend

a couple of game tins - $12.99, reg $25 - they are on sale for $17.49 this weekend

    a feather bed - $37.99, reg $119.99

I guess that's all for now from Kohl's.

  5. Walmart had a ton of the BF toys left over last year. But I do think it is very sneaky when they remove the regular merchandise that is usually on the shelves so that there are only limited BF items. I don't think I will be going to WM this year, I am just a little sick of all their bull.
  6. Last year I went to the BB in Saginaw, MI at about 6PM. That was way too late!! I asked a few people and the first people were there at about 10am with a bunch showing up around noon. I didn't get the computer I wanted, but I got everything else. I don't know what I'm doing yet, waiting for the ads.
  7. I have not received any of the T-Shirts that I have signed up for. I have signed up for 3 different PSP demos (Ratchet and Clank in March, Gods of War in April and Tennis in May) I have yet to receive any of these although I did just receive an email from Playstation today that said

Your God of War: Chains of Olympus Special edition demo is coming 09/07.

I have found that it is best not to expect the T-Shirts. I have received a few, but probably only 10% of what I requested.

I did receive the Ratchet and Clank game, but I never received the Gods of War. Didn't sign up for the Tennis one.

  8. I ususally shop the clearance racks, doesn't matter if it is Macy's, Kohl's, Fashion Bug, Wal-Mart or even KMart. If there is a piece I really need to buy, I will pay full price or sale price, but if there is a clearance rack, I am there!

The only thing I don't like about Fashion Bug's sales is that they have exclusions so that you cannot use it for their "Priced Just Right" items or Skechers.

  9. This isn't exactly what you mean, but the Senseo pod machine. I tried and tried and tried to get that. Finally I did the Gevalia deal for 14.95 because I was so frustrated. The Senseo would have been a much much better fit for me since I rarely drink regular coffee and when I do only about a half a cup or so at a time. I am thinking of selling the Gevalia machine in a rummage sale and keeping watch for a Senseo on clearance or good sale. Ok, I'm done.

No, wait, I probably get about 60% of the freebies I sign up for, maybe a little more.

  10. How about a digital photo frame?

I shouldn't even reply, because I am not so good either. For our 1 year dating anniversary I bought a nice collage frame and put in pictures from our first vacation together. I was thinking of something like that when I suggested the digital photo frame.

  11. I have a couple of things that I bought early that are now on sale. You don't have to have the actual item to get a price adjustment do you? I am going to try at Walmart after work with the receipt, if I can't, then I probably will just forget about it. I am not going to unwrap anything to get an adjustment unless it is for a lot.
  12. My BF was going to go out and get a drill last weekend because he needed it. I had to tell him that he might be getting one for Christmas and not to get one. He wanted to know who "might" be getting him one and I wouldn't tell him - it was his stepmom. Then she found out he was going to buy one from his daugter, so she went ahead and gave it to him. I am sure she is going to go get something else for him to open on Christmas now even though he said she doesn't need to. :holiday16
