bath and body works, lotions , bath gels buy when they are $5.00 each, then create your own gift basket. A nice silver picture frame, GC to a nice restaurant or the movies. Make a popcorn/movie basket. Get a nice basket as a few movies. or movie rentals, microwave popcorn, popcorn salt and some chocolate bars.

My DD 12 and DS10, are not asking for more expensive items. I've always had one big ticket item then the same number of smaller items to open. Even if some of the fillers are dreaded clothes... actually my DD has asked for clothes this year and that is the one thing I've still yet to purchase.

walmart had an all in one for like $49.00

got a dig cam. DH will not let me have it till Christmas. I told him I didnt care BUT he better charge it christmas eve.

I know that walmart in a lot of areas reduced the price of select doorbuster items after the ad came out. TV, Tumble Tigger, Dvd Player and a few other items was anywhere between 10-15 dollars less than in the ad.

Walmart here had their leftovers still at doorbuster prices today.

I use layaway as far as being able to hid things a little longer from the kids. I agree with blueyedgirl78 as being offended at this post. It was not too long ago that I was divorced mom of two kids. I worked two jobs to provide for my family and it was being able to put things on layway or the BF blitz that got me through being able to provide things for the kids birthday or christmas as their father had no part in their life. ... Now I am remarried and things are not the way it was.. I do not have to work two jobs. The *economically challenged* people are the ones he need items on the BLITZ to see their childrens eyes light up at christmas, and this maybe the only way they are able to do this and not asking for a handout of sort. AS you may not be *economically challenged* in these days nothing is guaranteed so one day you may also be one of the economically challenged people. Now, I do belive that WalMart or any store should have set the one laptop & one desktop per/person limit if they were only going to have 15 pieces of the items.

Px # $200.00/ WM $75 / TRU $10 /Walgreens $31 Planned on spending about $250.00 - MIL gave us $100.00 to get the kids something so out of what we spent $90.00 of this was from the MIL. so we can in under buget. Unless you count breakfast at cracker barell then we were right on target.

I've purchased the 25 " Symphonic tvs from WM for my kids a few years back and they are going strong.

Had this guy at the px counting the number of people in front of him and his wife, walking the line, and he said we were like number 48 or so and then he jumped to the front of the line and said he was going to embrass anyone who tried to cut in line. He was hollering at them, where do you think you are trying to go, the line starts back there pointing around the corner to the other side of the building.. needless to say until time for him to step back in, no one cut in line.

I normally try to have them about 5 or 6 small items then one big ticket item. Sometimes its more or less depending on the demand. This year is was Nintendo Dogs DS package and a $130 race car/hummer. However my parents opted for these gifts. So everything else on their list is between $15-$30 ticket items so they will be getting everything they wanted plus a little extra this year.
