  1. I was at Sam's Club yesterday and they had some children's ones - they were the kind that were lined with "sheepskin"
  2. My daughter got a pair like that this summer from Target. If you live in a warm climate - they may still have them. I would also check Payless and Famous Footwear (they often do buy 1 get 1 1/2 off)
  3. Where do you sign up for the mailing list? Is this an outlet list or something on line?
  4. I would also add to make sure that you buy/use some type of bag to store the DS and games in as well. The games are tiny (almost the size of a camera memory card) and easily misplaced. I have two 8 year olds - and still have to remind them to put everything back in the bags. My other (unsolicited) tip is if you ever let them take it on a trip - put your cell phone number on the bag! One of my kids left it on a plane in the rush to get off, and if it weren't for my older daughter putting a luggage tag on it with our cell phone number - the airline never would have contacted us!
  5. My husband attached a big letter "E" to a plain t-shirt and I attached a bunch of paper-clips to mine....he was "e-mail" and I was "the attachment"...
  6. Unfortunately - I don't think you could get away with wearing these under a bathing suit (nice idea though ). The ones I own go from the top of my ribcage down to my mid-thigh - so I'd have to be wearing one heck of a bathing suit! They're great under an evening dress though...
  7. I own both the Assets version from Target and the regular Spanx - and I disagree about the quality. I think the actual "Spanx" brand is a much better/higher quality product. The version at Target doesn't "suck you in" nearly as much as the original Spanx. I think you get what you pay for...
  8. I also have a Garmin and love it for the reasons mentioned (saying street names instead of just "turn right in 500 feet"). I had a Tom Tom originally - and returned it for a Garmin, both b/c of the Street Name issue and also if you make a wrong turn with the Tom Tom, it does redirect you - BUT doesn't tell you that it's doing that - so you don't necessarily know you went the wrong way. The Garmin says "Recalculating" if you miss a turn or go the wrong way - so at least you realize you are off track.
  9. What about a restaurant supply store? We have one around here that I believe is open to the public.
  10. You may want to check and see if the ones with the dual monitors can be used outside of the car as well. We have a single one that we've been able to hook up to a tv in a hotel - and were able to watch the dvd on the hotel tv. Also (having 7 yr. old twins myself) if a twin monitor is the same price as 2 singles, you might be better off having two in case they can't agree on a movie, or if one breaks. None of them are made particularly well. Our latest is one from Target and is just a flat screen vs. one that opens like a laptop - I prefer this type and it's easier for the kids to watch if they ever want to just hold it vs. having it attached to a headrest.
  11. Don't buy the Pokemon Battle Toy! My daughter spent her own birthday money on it when it was the full price of $50. It is a piece of junk. It doesn't stay together, pieces fall off, and the stickers don't fit. After - I went back and read the reviews which all agreed with our experience. It's not worth $5!! On another note - today I got the "Memorex iMove Boombox for iPod" which was marked down to $34.98. Does anyone know if it's any good? I couldn't find any reviews online...
  12. If you haven't bought the "Wii Play" game yet - it comes with an extra controller packaged together and is about $10 cheaper than buying them seperately.
  13. Please excuse my dumb question, but I'm new at this, and I'm stumped as to what you guys are doing with those "dpci" numbers you are talking about to determine if a particular store has that product. Are you inputting them on the Target website somewhere? Or are you going to the actual store and typing them into those price checker machines?? Very curious! :)
  14. They didn't work for me. I used them and my stuff still got moldy. Plus the bags are made of fairly thin plastic - so many times when I tried to open up the "zipper" the top of the bag would rip, making them useless. Such a good idea - if only they were more sturdy and worked!
