Last year I had 3 or 4 items cut from my Old Navy online order.

Hmm... well.. then I am gonna hope for a "beefier" netbook for $150ish... either way... I am gonna rip Windows off the think and put Jolicloud onto it. It is a simplistic Linux based OS designed for Netbooks. Most of the apps are cloud based. Good for my daughter.

LOL. Last year I posted this thread and it got bounced around for a while. So... I only see netbooks in the $250 range... just like last year. I wonder if any retailer will be bold enough to offer a deep discounted netbook this year? If I could get one in the $100 - 150 range... my 8 year old daughter is sooooo getting one. What do you guys think?

If anyone has a Fry's Electronics near them... I got an Acer for $377 at Fry's Electronics. It is dual core, AMD Athlon 64 bit... so it comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Edition. Also has integrated ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics which is great for playing most games. I think it is a better laptop than the Walmart HP $298 deal.

I also am going to endorse buying refurbished Apple products. The only difference is the packaging. The product looks brand new... and you get the same warranty as new product.

The fact that you don't see viruses on the Mac has nothing to do with it being superior at all. Apple only has 5% marketshare worldwide when it comes to personal computers. Virus/malware/trojan/worm writers aren't going waste their time on 5% of the world. They want the big fish... so they attack PC's.

Yeah. It will be a great gift for my 7 year old daughter. She wants her own computer and it won't break the bank. I love my MSI Wind netbook running OSX, though!

Come on Best Buy, Walmart, Fry's.... Don't let me down!

Stores like Dick's, Sports Chalet, Sports Authority and Big 5 all carry some of the decent Tippmanns, Small Parts and Spyders. It would be nice to see a sale on them sometime...

I don't think I'll ever by a Blu-ray player. Digital delivery is the future.

Laptop at Walmart in 2005... battery only lasted 9 months...

Waited in line with my 1 friend, 1 brother and 1 cousin at Best Buy from 3pm till 5am... Got 4 of the $199 Emachine systems (with monitor and printer) Got 4 of the $229 Toshiba Laptops Later FOUND 2 laptop tickets sitting on shelves in the store (people who gave up on the massive lines inside the store???) Sold those tickets to passer byers for $50 each. Used my current laptop to order a variety of stuff for my kids from ToysRUs.com @ their Black Friday prices Yesterday morning I hit Kmart's Thanksgiving Day sale and bought an assortment of toys for my kids I am tired as hell now.

Now I will hit Walmart or Best Buy first!

Just a little funny tidbit... FYI. Last year, my friend and I both bought the HP laptops from Best Buy. Well... right after we got them, he was gonna upgrade to 2 gb of Ram from the original 512MB... and he said I could have his 512. We opened our ram slots... and to our surprise... his laptop came with 1 slot filled with a single 512 module and my laptop cam with the 2 slots filled with a 256 module each. And we got our laptops from the same store... in the same line... one right in front of the other.

Probably at Walmart, running over some grandmas with my cart.

Last year....

I just transferred to a new store.... I am an Assistant Produce Manager for a local grocery chain. The very first day, I went to the manager's calendar and wrote my name "Off" on Black Friday. She kinda snickered at me, but I told her... I don't ask for many days off... but that day is my "STANDING REQUEST" every year. It is pretty much the only day I do my Christmas shopping... so I NEED it off... no if ands or buts.

If you have Sprint, you can get a phone as modem plan added to your account that allows your cell phone to function as a wireless broadband modem.

They just opened one in Glendale, AZ last year... so I really don't know if they do a BF sale or not.
