what is a soft opening? do they tip toe and whisper?

I've never worked on Black Friday but now that I am a SAHM my DH does my "job" while I shop. He also gets day after leftovers ready for everyone... gotta love him!

My purchased items are in green and my todo list is in red. thanks for this post it got me motivated and thinking! DH Flannel pants from Walmart on Black Friday! I have no clue yet Son a toothbrush a few outfits the pretend fisherprice telephone a truck with tools at a consigntment sale like new! Christmas Eve PJs to open on Christmas Eve at a consignement sale no clue what else MIL her christmas plates... since our family is growing she needed more... won them off EBAY!!!!! no clue FIL no clue SIL and family we are getting my SILs family a big joint gift. She sometimes comes to this sight so it must remain unknown to everyone else... sorry :) We also some little things for the kids like books and games. Plus I always get them PJs which I have yet to find. Nephew so far I got him a few games painting activity PJs Niece butterfly plate set painting activity PJs I have no clue yet Nephew construction plate set superman shirt from gap... so cute PJs outfit from carters... he is done Baby in the oven niece or nephew outfit or something little Cousin A little mug a book PJs something else unknown Brother (we drew names) a black shirt from kohls a baseball card set no clue yet Father (we drew names) a golf shirt from kohls a mets paper cube for $3 :) no clue yet DHs 2 employees We are getting them a night of fun at home with a Blockbuster GC, GC to someplace that has takeout and snacks for a movie.

I just started working for ChaCha. My last check went towards our Freeport trip but we ah... did a lot of Christmas shopping! :) My next few checks are going towards Christmas too!

I leave my house around 3:30 or 4am and we are home around noon. We have leftovers on Black Friday so I have to be home to get all of that stuff ready

Your SIL sounds like she is selfish and she shouldn't be in charge of your Christmas shopping. You get to choose what you buy end of discussion! That not sharing crap is the dumbest thing I ever heard! Godforbid siblings SHARE!!!!!!!! Dollar store crap for her christmas present!

They had them at Ace last year around $25 a pack

I love the shoe box idea. You can wrap the top and bottom now so you can fill the boxes as you get the items. Then bake a special treat to fill each box, maybe trail mix or a healthy muffin and odds and ends like tooth brushes, socks etc. Like others are saying get out there now and ask for donations and maybe hook up with a local college who would be willing to have a bake sale or something so you can raise extra money! College kids always want extra things to put on resumes! Maybe since you have a dinner for Thanksgiving you can have an invitation in the box for a lunch in January and just make soup and sandwiches.

I love the luggage lock idea! Presents to my future old enough to snoop kids will go to my mom's or sister's where they will be wrapped and gathered in the trunk on Christmas Eve. That is what my mom did and I love the idea! I also love that my Granny had a sneaky part in the plans! :) Too bad your MIL isn't keen on the idea... she must be an anal clutter free person!

Maybe you could take a day off of work and plan your shopping trip so you stay organized. Drop her off to school and have someone else pick her up, have dinner ready go in the fridge and shop shop shop!

LOL!!!! It is a great idea to get a jump start! We are taking my son's picture though so maybe we can do that a few weeks before Thanksgiving since he will grow so much

I looked at our room in Freeport Maine too! It was $80 something! Awesome! We never would have gone... not because it was too expensive but this was motivating!

Do they let you do two separate purchses. for example: buy 4 cokes for $26 get $6 back in register rewards plus $5 off coupon. then in a separate order get sugar, foil etc with rewards right away? We just had a walgreens open so I'm not sure of there rules yet. thanks for the coupon linK!
