  1. I stopped reading the release when they started all the "about WM" stuff. The small print does say excludes BF "ads", which I would intrept to mean all the items in that ad, not just the one's on sale Friday. Only WM knows how they'll intrepret it tho.
  2. I've gotten in the habit of asking the store employees what they know about BF these days. I asked an associate at Target last week and she said she didn't know what they were going to be selling, but that she's been told to expect to be at work before midnight because the store will be opening early this year. Take it for what its worth.
  3. My BB puts most of the hot doorbuster items at the front cash registers in big, but separate piles. You walk up to the register with your ticket(s), they have a runner go get your stuff from the piles and bring it to you. In the meantime, the cashier is already ringing up anything else you've picked up. Of course, it's still a madhouse as the lines back up about the store waiting for the registers. There are at least two managers there to shepherd you off if there are problems over to a separate register for problems (credit card doesn't scan, ticket issues, etc). I have boycotted BB for the past two years and see no reason to end that boycott this year as their customer service the other 364 days of the year stinks.
  4. Thanks Impala319. I'm looking for less than $300. Samsung for Toshiba if we're lucky. It'll have to be a doorbuster for sure.
  5. Unfortunately, that includes in price also. Just too darn expensive.
  6. A lot of stores had people buying 10 at a time. That's why eBay has tons of them now. And the sheeple are lapping them up at double and triple the price. Plus, there are battery problems with Touchpad and, since there will no longer be any support, no more apps or upgrades. I'm hoping for a Samsung or Toshiba.
  7. Agreed. I'm sure we'll see our first tablet stand alone thread this year.
  8. len, That number would satisfy probably 1/5 of the demand out there, if not less. And dealers are snapping up anything that comes on the market and reselling on ebay. HP is not helping by dangling tidbits of information. I'd love to get a 32G for $150 but I'm not holding my breath.
  9. I recommend caution on 3D electronics. Read last week that the studios are backing away from 3D as they are cost more to make and less and less people are going to see them. Unless the networks are going to start broadcasting in 3D, which I doubt is coming anytime soon, it's looking more and more like a fad.

    Where are the ads?

First Ad will be Ace and it will come out 10/5. You heard it here first.
  11. That's not perception, that's reality. Walmart, Costco, Target, BJ's and just about everyone else is cheaper than BB except for targeted sales with limited supply. I never buy anything from BB. If I need a cable and Walmart doesn't have it, I either use the web or go to Microcenter. BB is just too darn expensive. This thread is way off target from the subject and is quickly being hijacked IMO .
  12. Maybe a Coby 7" piece of junk, but nothing good at that price. I hope I'm wrong as I want a couple 10" table's this year.
  13. You can still go to Sears to get electronics. They aren't any better than BB and have a much more limited selection and stock. I've said it multiple threads here, BB needs to either get their act together or go out of business.
  14. Looking for a 10" 32Gb tablet for less than $200. Hopefully a Samsung or Toshiba Thrive. On line buy would be even better
  15. Don't want to be negative, but I don't like 'em. I don't really like BB much to begin with, but not telling us what they're offering is borderline mean IMO. Do the workers know what the unannounced deals will be for BF? Do even the store managers know more than a couple of days before the sale? Inquiring minds want to know.
  16. Just talked to my wife, who is at WM. She is first in line for the laptops. They have 43 laptops in the store. Almost 400 of the 19" LCD TV's. She said it is pretty dead but they expect it to pick up before midnight when the first sale starts.
  17. We'll be heading to WM around 8:00 tonight and start lining up for the 19" TV's and emachine laptops. There will be four of us and we will get two of each, unless they aren't limited to one per customer in which case we'll be getting a third TV.
  18. BB has absolutely NOTHING worth doing this for. IMO BB is living off a reputation that they built 6 or 7 years ago. They've stunk since CC went out of business and had no competition. HHGregg is coming up, but their prices are worse than BB's. I think someone should have these folks evaluated for mental fitness.
  19. Yep, it was the free lifetime maps that made me buy this one.
  20. If your looking for a good deal on a TomTom, you can get a TomTom 540 TM (free lifetime traffic and maps), with a 5" display at Amazon on sale and with a promo code for additional 20% off. Regular priced at $216, on sale for $166 and additional promo code takes it down to $133. Excellent bargin. Go here http://www.amazon.com/TomTom-Widescreen-Portable-Navigator-Lifetime/dp/B003B3P2CY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1290082455&sr=8-1 and put in code TOMTOM20 before check out and you'll get the additional 20% off. I just ordered on and they are still in stock.
  21. Agreed. WM came through with the best laptop deal once again. I also like the 2TB WD HD at Target for $69. Hopefully, we can get both.
  22. Best Buy. They cater to high school and college kids, who make the experience quite unenjoyable. And you can beat their BF deals online now.
  23. Agreed Jim. Seems the B&M stores are not trying to lure with prices, but rather by monkeying around with their hours.
  24. Just like last year. Walmart pretty much smoked everyone else. Target's got some good deals on electronics. BB stinks IMO, which is fine with me since I hate waiting in that line.
