  1. Yahoo has an article this morning of the top 10 best deals for BF and BB has 4 of them, including the top two (Sharp TV and ASUS tablet). It's going to be a slugfest to get these items I fear. I really don't like BB, but I have to give them kudos for their ad this year. A swan song perhaps for BB as I heard BB corporate has told their regional managers to expect to close 20% of their stores nationwide in 2012.
  2. Make sure they don't try and cut in line

    iPad2

Lots of stores seem to be doing $50 off the msrp. Micro Center has it for one.
  4. what are the lines like in previous BF's at that store? BB had a very solid ad this year, but I would think coming out on Wednesday night should be good for most stores. BB stores in my area usually have a few campers that are there the night before, but most folks started lining up late morning on Thanksgiving Day. With the new midnight opening, I'd expect that to move up a bit. Still, most folks still need to eat Thanksgiving before they head out to stand in line.
  5. Then I agree with Klownicle (for what it's worth). Go with the Toshiba they have on sale now for $269. Or go the WM and get the Compaq that they sell for $248 every day. I went and looked at the Toshiba at the store today. It was better than the bottom end Lenovo that they had on display, which was a better laptop than they're offering on BF.
  6. The processor is the "brains" of the computer. The faster and bigger the processor, the faster your computer will be. I'm not sure if about the e-300. The e-350 is kind of like the entry level AMD dual core processor so this might be a cpu that lenovo uses for special packages like BF deals. This laptop isn't going to do very well for gaming or high graphic intensive applications and video streaming might have a few hiccups, but for surfing the Interweb, emails, word processing and general use, it should work well. I plan on getting one or two if I can get in line early enough. These will go quick I'm afraid.
  7. It seems that some folks here think that the More Doorbusters In-Store & Online section of the BF web page means that those deals are available both online and as door busters in stores. But the column on the left is separated from the column on the right just like the items in the section above. Further, the text for things in the left column like the $179 Lenovo laptop only talk about stores and the things on the right, like the washer/dryers only talk about warehouse and other online things. So, my question is, are items like the Lenovo laptop only going to be available as a doorbuster in stores (which is how I read it)? TIA for clarifying
  8. BJ's had the 8" Vizio on sale now for $189. Didn't look at all the particulars but it had 4Gb storage (expandable to 32 Gb with SD card), built in camera, HD screen and hdmi out, Bluetooth capable and I think Android 3.x. Egadgets gave this unit a pretty good review and certainly might want to consider it if you thinking about the Fire.
  9. I think it's the best tablet deal for BF that anyone is offering. I would count on the ASUS being a big draw.
  10. I believe that Brad said they were releasing on the 16th (Wed). Hopefully, they're gauging the reviews of the big players (BB, WM and Target) and changing what they can accordingly.
  11. BB is playing it well this year. By leaking to the "don't already knows", they are keeping the buzz going to the masses. WM really laid an egg IMO just as BB is stepping up their game. Believe me, if BB can lure me back, they're doing something right. Correct me if I'm wrong, but we still don't know the price on things like the iPads and some of the TVs.
  12. BB is a machine this year. I hate 'em. But, like a siren's songs, I am drawn to them. Thanks for the additional info Jim.
  13. You need teenaged kids taz. I have two and they're great for getting extra tickets, holding places in line and basically cutting time at the store down by half or more. At least two of those $179 laptops are coming home with me if I end up going to BB and probably at least a couple of those tablets (one each of the Asus and Toshiba or maybe two of the Asus). With WM and Target being such a disappointment this year, the wife is trying to coax me to BB. As much as I hate BB, I'm considering it. This is their best ad in a while and the best IMO of the lot this year (still waiting for Sears electronics and tools). Good luck
  14. what some call "grit" others call insanity. Anyone (other than college kids with nothing better to do) who spends days in line to save anything less than $2000 or more is crazy in my book. Camping should be in the woods, near a stream whilst hunting for Griz, not on the sidewalk while soccer moms walk by with runny-nosed kids in tow gawking. But that's just me.
  15. Only tablet seems to be the kindle. bummer.
  16. Is this open-at-midnight and then mull around the story till 5:00 am or is this open-at-midnight and have door busters at midnight? Makes all the difference.
  17. I like it! Get there early (5 in the afternoon-ish), get what you want and out by 12:15. Head over to Target (in the same mall) and get the left-over DB's there and then head over to Sears and wait in line there until 4:00 (again in the same mall). Home by 5:00 for online shoppint, donuts and sleep. An entire BF experience in less than 12 hours.
  18. Wise move by WM. 3 door buster opportunities that either keeps in you the store or keeps you coming back. Empty the wallets of the sheeple before the competition get's them in their door. This only works if they have something worthy of going in for at 8:00. Last year, the real door busters still happened at 5:00 am so there were hundreds of sleep deprived zombies wondering around WM from midnight to 5:00, spilling stuff, trying to sleep in the shelves and otherwise creating a fire harzard at the store.
  19. So you just buy the item and sell it to the guy for an extra $50. You can't stop it and BB is insane to think they can.
  20. Why anyone would buy a piece of junk emachines for $200 when you can get a compaq that is better in every way for $248 at WM everyday is beyond me. Don't get sucked into the emachine price. Buy the compaq. You'll be glad you did.
  21. According to Kiplingers, this is not going to be a banner year for BF deal seekers. Bummer http://finance.yahoo.com/family-home/article/113732/holiday-deal-hunters-disappointed-kiplinger
  22. 10" Samsung Galaxy can now be found for around $500 and 10" Toshiba Thrive can be found for less than $450. Will they be available for less than $250 on BF? That's my price point so I sure hope so, but I'm thinking no, they won't.
  23. So you take the original purchase back for refund and get another one at PM'ed.
  24. It is quite impressive. Would make a nifty gift for a gamer. That being said, BJ's never has mind blowing deals. Costco will beat their TV prices and, of course, BB and WM will kill 'em in computers.
