  1. Try going to the BB site and search for nero. I did that yesterday, but it was backordered so didn't order it. They seem to be offline as I type this. Glad you got it though.
  2. Did you see the lady that got trampled at crap-mart(walmart)on the news? She was lying on the ground as people walked over her. Her main concern? Putting her wig back on:D :)
  3. I overslept. I wanted to drive-by BB at 4:00, an hour before they opened, just to see the crowd. I got there at 4:45, there must have been 1500 people in line. It wrapped 3/4 of the way around the store. The news said people were lining up last nite at 10:30. Staples is a few minutes away, they weren't going to open for an hour and 15 minutes, but there must have been 50 people there. The low last nite/this morning was about 15 degrees. I drove home. Congrats to those that stuck it out and got what they wanted without screwing any one over. Happy Holidays
  4. That's because most, if not all, dvd recorders are made by the same 11yo chinese girl.
  5. My ilo from wally world burns DVD+RW. It's $99 EDLP. I've used it for over a year. I wouldn't buy anything cheaper. Please spend the extra $20 and get it. For reviews of DVD RECORDERS go to videohelp (add www and com), left hand side, click recorders. I see the ilo 05 (I have last year's model 04) may play divx. Or buy the samsung or Lite-On. I would stay away from cyberhome and other names I haven't ever heard of. My ilo says, "Lite-On" on it.
  6. Do you have a Best Buy in town? BB is selling the Sandisk 1GB model (twice the storage capacity of yours) for only $30 more, at $80, no rebates. Sandisk model SDMX3.
  7. It's illegal, but if you want to copy a DVD you should get a DVD BURNER for your PC. To play the dvd on your TV and then use a DVD RECORDER to copy the dvd will result in a poorer quality picture. You should use something like DVD Decrypter or DVD shrink to get the files copied off the DVD to your PC, then burn it to a blank DVD. Try mrbass.org for more info. HTH
  8. Yes. Where I live we get Sunday's paper on Saturday.
  9. FWIW, Best Buy will have the SanDisk 1GB mp3 player with FM tuner for $80 Sunday, Nov 20- Wed, Nov 23. Also, 20% off all CLEARANCE mp3 players and accessories. Sears will have the HP ipod 512MB for $80 Sunday-Wed.
  10. Thanks (most) everyone for liking my idea. I can see the crush of people when the store opens on the news, but I'm hoping for pics of what the lines at BB, staples, circuit city, wally world, etc, looks like hours before they open. Pics of, "I got here 4 hours before they open and I'm #200 in line!?!" That way I can say, "Thank god I stayed home". But most of all have fun and a TIA. And thanks RossMAN and the other admins for this site and giving out prizes.
  11. I don't think I'm going to stand in line all night for any deals. But for those of you that do, please post some pics of the lines of people at your store. One year I went to BB about an hour before opening, the line must have had over 1000 people. I left.
  12. I was referring to her collection of VHS tapes. The OP said she had over 300 VHS tapes that she wanted to copy to DVD. My suggestion was instead of wasting 90-120 minutes copying each tape, she she look at a pawn shop or a place that sells used DVDs. Blockbuster? If she copies 10 tapes a day for 20 hours a day, it will take her a whole month to copy the tapes. 2 tapes a day will take 5 months. Or my other suggestion, netflixx, walmart DVD subscription. Your disc good be bad that is why it's not loading in the dvd player.
  13. Just remember, it takes a lot of time to copy these tapes to a DVD. A lot of time. 90-120 minutes per tape plus the cost of a DVD disc, 25 cents. Backing up, it sounds more fun then it is. I would suggest seeing if some are available at a pawn shop, garage sale, etc...Or a subscription to netflixx/walmart.HTH(hope that helps)
  14. I haven't done it because my VCR is broke, but there are connections on the front of my ilo dvd recorder to attach cables from a VCR to copy to a disc. But remember, 1. Can I record from a commercially purchased DVDs or videocassettes? Since duplicating copyrighted material is illegal, most commercially sold DVDs and VHS tapes are encoded with copy encryption, so they cannot be recorded by iLO recorders. You'll have to try and see.

    Blank DVD Deals?

Hurry, hurry, run, run to newegg today, Tuesday, Nov 15 by 5:30 pm PST, because they have the Verbatim 100 pack of DVD-R for $45 with a $25 MIR. add http://www. newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817130959 add .com
  17. TDay: partly cloudy, 38/26. But that doesn't mean a blizzard can't come blowing through Thursday night into Friday
  18. I've heard cyberhome's products are a POS. If you want to purchase a dvd recorder at wally world, may I suggest the $99 ilo, every day low price. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3610576I've used it for a year, everyday, to record tv shows. No problems yet. Lack chase playback(watching a show from the start while the rest is still being recorded), but for $100 what do you expect? The outside of my box said Lite-On. I used to have Lite-On recorders for my PC.
  19. Then why not buy it today, Saturday, Nov 12, at Officemax? Avoid the long lines and get a free 256MB card instead of 128 for the same price.I don't have enough posts to post a link I know this A520 was on sale from dell for $135 within the last month.
