  1. Walmart is TERRIBLE about marking there clearance down...But if you see something that you really want that has been lying around for months...Have someone page the store manager and ask him or her for a further reduction...

My store has a clearance corner for all depts..Its old and dusty..and the clearance prices are marked only 30%....Over the summer they had a Barbie comforter/sheet set marked at $40..It set there all summer...Finally in August I had the manager paged and asked if I could get it marked down further..and let him know it had been sitting there since May....He gave it to me for $12...

It is worth a shot if you see something thats been lying around for a while..and you really want it...

  2. alfrey66 is right, you really lucked out! I asked my mom again this morning about this (she's worked for Target for about 12 years) and she said it is a big no no! It is a company wide policy. No stores should be doing it. It would be madness! Could you imagine the lines at customer service everytime Christmas was marked down?! Good for us, bad for them!

Yea that is definitely YMMV...No way would either of the 2 stores I frequent do that...What most people do if they see a steep difference in something they purchased is just re-buy it at the cheaper price and return one of them with your original receipt...

My Target will PA regular sale items...With no problems...But not any type of clearance..Perhaps they couldnt tell the difference between a clearance or a sale price??

  3. I found this National Geographic Camera at a couple of stores. I have not seen them before, so I don't know how common they are. My friend and I have been looking for Digital Cameras for our kids for awhile, so we are thrilled. I got them for $14.98. They are $59.99 on the Target.com site.

I saw those too...I almost purchased one...But decided no to...as my DDs have the FP kid tough one...Let us know what kind of pictures they take...I really did want one just couldnt figure out who I would give it to...lol...

My store had lots of National Geographic items...I did end up buying some projector thing that shows space like objects with the light off....

  4. I love Costco, but usually tag along with a friend because I don't have the extra money to buy a membership. Anyone know if there are ever discounts on memberships?

I dont believe they ever have discounted memberships...But what you can do is split the cost of the membership...I do this with a friend...One year she pays and the next year I pay...We each have a card...Makes it so you only have to pay the membership every other year...

Or you can split the membership and you both pay $25 each year....

quick question about that - is it a made while you shop experience or do you have to come back to get the glasses?

You have to come back to pick them up...They send them out...and they do take a while...But its so worth it as they are the cheapest for glasses and contacts I have ever seen...

Also have great prescription prices there too....

  5. Gottadealers;

Please call your store with questions regarding returns. I just got off the phone with the manager at my location, and she said as long as you have your reciept, you will be refunded the money you paid, regardless of the clearance price it's at now. Holiday or regular clearance. My target guest services people were extremely nice and this is why I shop there!

I guess it depends on the store you go to.

Yes I think my store would do this too...The problem I would have though if your returning because the seasonal items went cheaper, it would be harder finding those same items at the new markdown price...

For example there was a huge selection at 50% off, then very little at 75% off..and almost nothing at 90% off....

  6. So I am confused - somtimes I have scanned things that are less than the red sticker price. And sometimes I have scanned things that scan regular price but have a clearance sticker on them?!?!?

I don't get it! If they don't want all that hassle why doesn't Target mark the correct prices with the barcode?

I don't think Target intentionally mistickets items...I believe if there is a red sticker there but rings up regular price, it shouldnt have been there to begin with...Someone else could have put it there....or an employee mistakenly put a red clearance sticker on them...

Target is really good about entering all there markdowns in the computer whether they have a read sticker or not...So the correct price should more often then not ring up...

What posters are referring to are the NOT ON FILE scans...This usually happens when something has been salvaged or marked as far as it can go like 90% off....So if there is a red sticker the Target employee will ususally make you pay that price..when we all know it went much lower then that and the red clearance sticker price is more often then not the first or second markdown...

This is why I scan everything...I also dont fight to much about prices and what they should be...I dont want to draw any attention to myself..as I really like my stores and I dont want to upset any employees....

  7. 90% for me today too....They brought a bunch of Keebler Club Crackers out with X-mas Designs...and each box wrang up for .03 each...They are the green boxes that you see in the grocery stores...

Also some Ritz Crackers with X-mas designs that wrang up for .27 each box...They are the big red boxes...

I had 2 shopping carts full of stuff and paid $31. I had to have help to my car...

Toys are now 50% off....I found some lego sets that wrang up for $4.95. Also found a Dora kitchen...Looked like an Internet return...It rang up for $9.77....Didnt buy it...as I have one at home...I figured I would leave it for someone who needed it...

  8. They were marking down clearance toys to 50% off this morning. Some went to 75% off. I was able to get the FurReal Friends Butterscotch Pony for $62.49 reg. price $249.99. ASIN: B000F2JZKO DPCI: 086-08-1229 Here is the link (I don't know how to shorten them.) http://www.target.com/Hasbro-FurReal...rscotch&page=

WOW! That is a deal!! I will keep an eye out...I did buy Butterscotch for my DD6 and DD3 for Christmas...But yesterday DD3 pushed him down 2 flights of stairs :(...She wanted him to watch TV with her downstairs.....He still seems to be working...But I may getting another...lol... I still dont know how she did it...That horse is heavy!

  9. Still 75% off in Riverside County...Southern Cali...

Talked to the supervisor of the markdown team this morning..She was very nice...She told me she didnt know exactly what day they will mark to 90% off....They are not told ahead of time...

But she did tell me that all Targets will be doing the Christmas Seasonal Salvage on 1/9. She told me on that day everything will be boxed up and sent out....

So she said she expects the 90% to hit anyday now...

What are the chances it will be tomorrow?? Or do you think Friday perhaps?
