I had to do something like this a few years ago my DS also a teen I gave his is big gift PS2 and one controller as well as the other goodies clothes, ipod & docking station ...I held on to all video games, online thing for final fantasy, extra controller, ipod, clothes & docking station. Gave him books that his teachers recommend some workbooks that the teachers gave me others books that I picked up on Amazon and every time he did what he was supposed to do like do all 3 workbooks I would release one gift. I now have a child who will not play around with school and has even put in to go to the Tech school for computers. So from my experience this kind of thing works, IMO!

DS15 really likes his ipod now I know that an ipod may not be doable but maybe a smaller mp3 player? Clothes is always a hit with teens. Do they have a list?

what cute kitties...I miss my cat named kitty by ds when he was 5....but since she is now gone we haven't gotten another one, we still miss her...if we got one now I don't know if our older dog would let us. Princess hates cats...but when kitty was around she ruled the place she was top dog...lol

We have only been here since may so I think that I am going to get my mailman a gift card or two for the fast food places around here...then put them both in a nice card. I was on pastasalads route so now I really appreciate that I get all my mail, this is not a training route thank goodness!

I have all my stuff delivered at my job...as a matter of fact I store them in the spare office there it is my Christmas office...lol My boss came in from the mail box on Friday and said more Christmas for Colleen...

I am getting concerned I sent out my ornament almost a week ago and my exchange person hasn't received it yet or hasn't posted that she got it.....So anyone get one that you haven't posted??

I do things like that as well...sigh I thought that I was all done with my shopping until I relized that I needed another $100.00 thing to go with one gift I got DS15 so I have to get that and then even up DS9...ugh I do this every year...so I feel ya!!

Call and talked to a third guy just a minutes ago he upgraded my shipping to next day...it says to ship on 12/11 but he told me that the shipment is due to come in 4th so I guess I am good I got so freaked out when the first guy said that 45 day lead time thing that my kids wouldn't get their big present.

OK I had a hard time finding an X-Box 360 Elite holiday bundle so with the help of some members here I was able order one through Dell on 11/26 so I go and check on my order and it still hasn't left. I do a chat with a rep today and he tells me that I need to leave a 45 day lead time??? That he will not guaranty it for Christmas but it looks like it will be shipped by 12/11 so now just a little confused by all this I call and that guy tells me that it does look like it is just in stock today and that they are trying to get all the orders out now...so I ask him about what the other guy told me about the lead time and he says that he doesn't see that at all. I don't know what to believe I am going to call back thinking whatever the next one tells me will hopefully be right.

I created an unwrapping monster with my weenie dog we always wrap her some treats and she digs in and unwraps them but this year I am struggling to keep her from ripping open the gifts...not hers that are under the tree...ugh Just gotta my baby. I get treats, small toys & rawhide for the stockings and both dogs, Princess (my rescue baby) and Izzy, get a toy and bigger treats wrapped under the tree from Santa.

Well I don't feel so bad then because I just checked out DS9 really needed some new long sleeve shirts...I pulled all his out yesterday and all but 3 he had grown out of...lol

I have always done a stocking for each of our dogs and a new dog bed under the tree with some treats in the bed so they will pull off the wrapping paper. What do your animals get if anything?

I don't really like wrapping but for gifts that the family is giving I put extra bows and make it look pretty...the ones "Santa" wraps are always just wrapped and some get one of the sticky bows, but that is it. I don't wrap anything that goes in the stockings.

I am not rural at all my location is in town and we have UPS, FedEx, DHL, ect.. at my job at least once a week. I have had one package dropped in the mail box at my office containing a $70.00 video game...no sign anything didn't even let me know that it was in there, if a co-worker hadn't checked the mail that day then it could have been gone... There is a tracking number on there but you can't really "track it" except to call the post office and ask them if it is in their system yet...and even then they can't tell you when it is coming at all. I called today to see about my 2 lost packages and all that they told me was that sometimes UPS will scan it over to USPS but it doesn't get to them for up to a week.. Then they send it out from the post office and that can take up to 3 days. I have never had any of my online purchases come to me like this before and I don't like it at all. I will remember this when choosing shipping from now on. I have all of my packages shipped to my job no one is there on Sat. to get the mail...so I will have to waist all that gas to go there tomorrow to see if the one package that hasn't been lost is there...ugh

Nope it is UPS here http://www.upsmailinnovations.com/ This is horrible I called BB and Toys R Us and complained.
