  1. I agree the deals are not up to par this year. That is fine since my xmas budget this is year is much smaller. The only gift I may go out for is the gold DS lite but I'm pretty sure it'll be online.

    Good luck to all who do brave the biggest lackluster shopping day but for me it is time to save.....Unless the deals suddenly get better. :)

  2. I haven't ever had any problems with places not having the door busters. You have to be one of the few first in line to ensure you get what you want though. I haven't shopped BB the last two years because BF mania has created so much competition. It’s easier to buy earlier in the year or just pay a few dollars instead waiting 24hrs+ to ensure I get the special item. I buy items online if available and pick easier places that require less effort now. This year it may be different since the ads aren't very good.

    Good luck!

    Best Buy has the Canon ZR850, one model up, on sale till Wednesday for $199. It's listed in their 4 day sale flyer. I'm looking for a camcorder also and decided against the canon miniDV models due to reviews of it's loud motor noise. Several reviews complained about the noise being captured on their recordings. CNET didn't mention it in the editor's review. Other than that it looks to be pretty good. I'm holding out in hopes of a "secert sale" bargain before making a decision. If you buy the canon post a review here.

  4. I spent about a quarter of what I had normally been spending on each of the past three years. BF sale items were IMO disappointing this year. I also spent less because of retailers limited stock, ever growing competition (crowds), and the biggest reason is sites like GottaDeal provide access to excellent bargains through out the year. At least half of what I spent this year was online getting the same items offered in the B&M stores with out the hassle.
  5. Cyber Monday is just a name made up by online retailers. Its the start of holiday shopping online. It took hold last year because of the media coverage by news channels who thought the name was catchy enough to be news worthy. It has no substance and most importantly no deals.
  6. Best::D

    Lowes - No lines at 0700, tons helpful staff, large quantity of sales items.

    Walgreens - Short lines, helpful staff, good prices on select toys

    Costco - Empty store (shoppers), lots of unadvertised instant rebates through out store.

    Kohls - Didn't go until 9pm at night; empty store (shoppers), still had the toys I wanted, tons of clearance items ($1.50 - $3.60), friendly staff;) , gave out kohl's cash.

    OM online - picked up everything I wanted on thanksgiving morning, free shipping

    Sears online - picked up everything I wanted on BF, free shipping

    Worst::yuck:

    Shopko - Limited stock, wanted items gone before 530am, overly crowded, long checkout lines

    Target - Lame ad, $4 DVDs only wanted item, sold out, had to argue with manager to get raincheck for them.

  7. in my opinion! Lots of recent releases for $3.88 or $5.88, WOW! And they had TONS at my Target!:yup:

    I didn't go until 8pm and they were out of all the $4 DVDs. :( I had to be assertive with the manager for 15mins until they gave me my raincheck. :mad: I guess they had been telling people all day that $4 ones were not eligible and the computer wouldn't issue rainchecks for them. Well, they were lying and I had to ask for the district managers number for them to even try. It worked. Nothing else interested me in their ad so I'm glad I didn't go earlier when it was crowded. One of my least favorite stores. :yuck:

    I just received this email and it says only select warehouses will have them. Thanks

    "Dear Costco Member,

    You requested to be notified when the new Nintendo Wii Bundle is available for purchase at Costco Wholesale. This item will be available for purchase on costco.com on Sunday, November 19, 2006 at approximately 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time. The item will be prominently displayed on the homepage of costco.com until it is sold out.

    Due to the extremely limited supply, we can accept orders from current Costco members only on a first come, first served basis, with a limit of one unit per household. Selected Costco warehouses will also have a very limited supply on Sunday, November 19, 2006.

    Orders for the Nintendo Wii Bundle will be shipped via UPS by Tuesday, November 21, 2006. Tracking information will be available on costco.com.

    We hope to receive additional quantities in our warehouses and on costco.com prior to Christmas, but we do not have an estimated arrival date, or approximate quantity at this time. We apologize in advance if you are unable to purchase this item from Costco Wholesale."

  9. IMO the BX has never had much on BF. The best sales have always been in December and are more local and not in the flyers. Example: a couple of years ago when I was at Robbins in GA, one night they all toys 50% off and most winter coats 75% off. Over the years I've seen several one night sales that actually had bargains but never on BF.
  10. I wish I knew myself...the computer just gives us an item # and price/ quanity. I dont know what will be in the bundle but if I remember correctly the price is around $339.00

    Thanks! :)

    That seems like maybe the system plus 1 game and extra controller or system plus two games? I'll be there on Sunday. Some places have been offering crazy sized bundles online that cost $700+.

  11. Im a Costco employee...if anyone has any questions that I can answer...shoot away.. I would be glad to help out !!:D

    I would like to buy the Wii game system at Costco. Any idea of what comes in the bundle(which games, extra controlers) and the price. It should be for sale on Nov 19th.
