To a point I think the deals are behind us. I think we see a lot of great deals during the season. I am not a fan of what BF has become. In the past, there were some hard core bargain shoppers looking for the best deals. Now everyone is into the hype and wants to go out and see what BF is all about

I was there this weekend as well. I was asking about the bag and the candle sale. The manager told me they were getting daily email updates about these things. That was it. Nothing else..Grr..

I thought I saw Best Buy buy one get one 40% off.

I would like a Fitbit. My daughter wants a gaming system. We might be able to swing it. Her big gift will be tickets to see Carrie Underwood in concert!

A few years ago, I became a foster parent. My daughter, then foster daughter was just having a tough time adjusting and the holidays were especially tough on her. Our first Christmas together was a real doozy. At my house, we don't do a big dinner, that's Christmas Eve. We have appetizers, desserts, cookies. My daughter really didn't eat that Christmas Day and it was getting pretty late. She threw a huuugggeee fit! To keep the peace, my husband suggested we go to the truck stop and grab a bite. For some reason, she agreed and off we went. We had a great time laughing and being silly. So this is a new tradition for us. I guess what I am trying to say is maybe turn a negative into a positive. Go out to eat, movies are always great. We love to drive around and look at all of the lights. Have some hot cider and play board games. The possibility are endless. I would just try to remain positive.

My stocking is always empty! Not this year! I bought my OWN stocking stuffers..earrings, a pair of sunglasses, tarts for my wax burner. So I will have something this year! For the kids, I love the Dollar Tree science kits. They are a pretty good sized box. They have grow your own crystal garden, grow your own beads- my kids loved these they filled a dish pan with water and watched the bead grow into good sized "squishy balls." They also have magic kits too. Also, look for the Lifesaver storybooks. They are pretty good sized. I got them as a kid and now we pass the tradition down. We also had chocolate gold coins, that is also a tradition we passed down. For the older kids, I love giving them playing cards from casinos. My sister loves pens, so I always get her some cool looking pens, of course candy! This year for my DD15 I bought most of her stocking stuffers at a gas station! She is a big Steelers fan, So I found some great stuff at our local gas station fairly cheap price! Steeler pen set, Steelers lanyard, Steelers stretchy gloves. I can't wait to see her face!

I remember a few years ago a friend of mine wanted to go shopping with me. I forewarned her. I said "I am a drill sergeant on BF." So we agreed to meet at Target at 5:00 am. No friend. I went through, got what I needed and moved on. I was in Bath and Body Works she calls. She was wondering why I wasn't at Target..I told her I don't play around today. Told ya I am a drill sergeant!

Oh yess!! Sometimes I have to stop myself before I go overboard...especially with wrapping paper. I have a slight obsession with wrapping paper. I probably do not have to buy any for the next few years.

I usually do 50/50. Last year I was ill with the flu so I really didn't go out except for Walgreens. They had a few items that I wanted, plus it's the closest store to my house. They had the items I wanted in stock. For me, the early start for BF is a deal breaker. I want to enjoy my Thanksgiving with my family. So this year if there is an early start I will be buying online. Love Amazon and Prime!

My 20 y.o. sis is a HUGE SpongeBob fan so I am doing her stocking in SpongeBob. Found a big candy cane, of course crabby patties. rummy cards, 2014 calendar. One thing I put in everyone's stocking is the Lifesaver candy books. I got one every Christmas when I was a kid and totally loved them and chocolate coins wrapped in gold foil. Love those!

Have been bogged down being sick. I didn't even go out on BF!! I am starting to feel better..I guess what helps me get out of my funk is to watch Charlie Brown Christmas. Linus Christmas speech always makes me cry and of course who can be sad when you hear the Peanut's theme song!!

Since alot of the retailers started before Thursday and the East Coast was bracing for tons of snow, I am sure there was an increase online sales.

My friend went a couple of years ago and she said she was in and out very smooth. Are you looking to buy that Squire that's on sale? If you are and feel that you may not get it at that price, my store usually carries that guitar albeit used, at the same price.

I'm going to have to agree. Research research research. Especially before the holiday season. Keep a record of what you have researched. Whether it's online or physically going to the store. I always have my price book with me. Sometimes brick and mortar prices are lower online and sometimes vice versa. Also, consider some out of the way places instead of the big box stores. I have been researching LED candles and came across a great deal at an Amish store.

I just started but got some great deals! Bought a Brita water pitcher for hubby for $4 bucks at Giant Eagle. They also had the water bottles on sale for a dollar! Bought a ton of those. Looks like everyone is getting something from Brita this Christmas. I am still coming up with a game plan. I am just having a hard time this year trying to figure out what to buy for everyone..well besides the Brita...lol.

I bought two co-workers gifts and got them at a steal! I am going to look through my "gift closet" and see what I have. I usually pick up some items not specifically for anyone in mind but, just to have on hand just in case someone pops by unexpected. Like candles (got a great deal on some jar candles earlier this summer at Walgreens) Bath and Body Works during there semi-annual sale. I am always on the look out for a great deal!

I DO NOT like the early start time! Sometimes I have to work on Thanksgiving and I have to get up early to go into work, then it's dinner, after that it's the stores. I was up literally 24 hours last year. So going to have to change up my strategy a bit. I think I am going to have someone navigate the online for me and maybe hit one or two stores, go home rest then get back-up for the rest. I love being in the middle of the madness but last year it was a bit overwhelming for me.
