  1. Of course! How could you forget that it was me? And yet again, I'm excited about some of those doorbusters but will probably be shut out of them again..... :curse:

    -Mark-

LOL--you know, I did think "was that markraby that posted that?" but didn't want to say it in my post in case I was wrong.

Is it every store in your area that does that? Man, that sucks. I wonder why they don't do the regular doorbusters.

  2. I believe I remember someone last year posting that their BB ad that came in their paper was different and didn't have the doorbusters. I believe this was someone who lived in Ohio. My memory of this is pretty vague, though. Anyone else remember this from last year?

Edit: OMG, I'm so proud of myself LOL. I searched and found this: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=4082&highlight=buy+doorbusters

  3. LOL, I had a relative that used to do that all the time. She'd shop at upscale department stores for her own family and gifts I received from her would come in a box from those stores, but would be from a much less expensive store. Like the box was going to fool me when I saw the tag or brand, LOL. I didn't care--I like clothes if they look good on me, not because of some label--but I thought it was funny.
  4. In past years, TRU has had extremely long checkout lines even with all registers going. The store was PACKED. But then--it's BF. Most stores get that way so it wasn't much of a surprise. I think Target is worse with lines than TRU.

TRU does NOT price match anymore. As someone else posted earlier, they stopped doing that about 6 months ago. They will price adjust their own store prices--electronics within 45 days of purchase, toys within 90 days of purchase. But they will not price match other stores or their website.

In my experience they tend to have enough of the doorbuster items for many people to get them (unlike some other stores that might only have 5 total in the store, grr) but since it's such a popular store, you do need to be one of the first in the store to make sure you get what you are after.

  5. Yes, remember that for next year. In fact we are going to have a "2006 Suggestions" thread in the BF forum very soon (before everyone leaves) so we can get some ideas to make next years site even better :)

If I am posting that I am not going to be able to remember my kids' color choices several weeks from now, what makes you think that I am going to remember to suggest this again later on? :tongue1:

I'll do my best, LOL, but save this post. ;)

  6. Ok, it's already TONS better than last year because it remembers what I've put on it...but I just realized that it'd be even more helpful if there was a "notes" section to it. Either letting us add comments to the items we pick, or just a general text box to type in at the end of the list. My boys were discussing lightsabers tonight and told me they wanted new ones--which is convenient as that is what Santa is putting in their stockings. ;) But they have specific color requests and everything and it would be nice to be able to put down that Brian wants red and Christopher wants green, because I tend to forget things.

If you can't work this in now--maybe next year? :D

  7. I can't recommend Little Tikes highly enough. Their stuff tends to be a PITA to put together (esp. their outside equipment!) but it is durable enough outlast three kids that are rough on things.
  8. Thank you all so much for caring to do something like that! My husband is in Iraq and will be missing ANOTHER Chritmas with his family. Our kids are very proud of their Dad as am I. It is so nice to see that other people care about the men and woman that are protecting our future. They give up so much to make sure that we are all safe. I know from my husband, that when he recieves something no matter what it is, he is so :victory::usaribbon greatfull. Just know that you are doing a wonderful thing! God bless you all!

Yep, same here and I agree.
  9. The credit union on post lets you postpone one auto loan payment in either Dec or Jan. That's as much as we get, being Army. Would be nice if they made the payment for us, instead of tacking it onto the end of the loan...but one fewer bill in Dec does help.
  10. Our oldest 5 kids are 21,20,18,17, and almost 15. The youngest will be 3 in March. It is really a lot of fun to be able to toy shop again!! Whenever we shop she wants to see the Magic Glow Doodle Bear, a bike, a shopping cart, and blocks. She has a MY First Leap Pad and plays with it every day. I am thinking about get her a kitchen. Any Recommendations?

If I had the money, I would get my 2 y/o one of these:

Little Tikes and Step 2 are very durable and would hold up well for years. I would avoid the cheaper no-name brands of play kitchens because the plastic is flimsy. I got one for $20 last year and it was a great idea but it was only about a month before the oven door broke off, the feet don't stay on...it's not going to last. But I can't afford to replace it with one of those nicer ones.

  11. I don't use services that do that, but I try to hold off on bidding till the last few minutes of an auction. That way I don't bump the price up days before, LOL, just to still get in a bidding war towards the end. Sellers probably don't like me for that strategy. ;)

It backfired on me recently though. Missed out on something I could have picked up locally because I forgot the end of the auction. Wound up doing buy it now on a more expensive one just to get it here by when I need it. :( Erin better like her bday present LOL.

  12. I did it last year and yes, it was worth it to me. I wanted to be at Sears when they opened anyway as I had a lot to buy there. They handed the cards out at one entrance only and the door was marked saying that was the door for the GC. When the door was opened, everyone walked in pretty much in a single-file line and got their card from the guy there, then mobbed the store. It worked just fine and gave me a nice additional discount to my shopping there.
  13. LOL...I can't even afford their sale prices. A lot of the moms in my online moms' group buy Gymboree clothes and post about the sales there. I go to the website and discover that even the sale prices are just out of my budget. I did buy one outfit on ebay when dd was a baby. It was definitely high quality, but she stained it anyway. So...if her clothes are going to get stained regardless...I will just buy the cheap stuff. ;)
  14. My Walmart (and everywhere else in town) is totally out of the Pixter Color. They have the regular black and white pixter for something like $20.

The best deal on the multimedia seems to be to buy TRU's bundle, that has the Pixter, the case and a Spongebob game for $89. Then hang onto your receipt because they might go on sale on BF--still lots of ads we haven't seen. Or there might be another 20% off code for online like there was awhile back.
