HOT! BF-Worthy Deal: 20% off $75+ Purchase at ToysRUs.com & Free Bonus Items
outnumbered replied to Brad's topic in 2005
Mara--some of the LT toys have free shipping and some don't. You might have picked a "free toy" that doesn't have the free shipping. That's the sole reason I went to the store to take advantage of that deal, although they were really picked over. Everyone bought up the place Sunday and on Monday they only had the Rugged Rigz and some baby toys...but they said they'd have some more shipments coming in this week. -

OMG, this is awesome. I just bought almost everything else I needed for the kids for Christmas. Brad, the gift card I won arrived in the mail this morning so this is PERFECT timing. I am re-ordering that Pixter this way and I will return the one I have already to the store. 20% off plus gift card savings trumps any sale, I'm sure. Also ordered gifts for my nephew and a friend of my son's who is having a bday party soon, and like I said almost finished up for my kids. All I need is Dora's talking house (no free shipping on that one yet) and another couple things for Brian (as his bday is at Christmastime too), and stocking stuffers. But the majority is all done now. I got stuff that is on sale for at least 25% off already, plus that 20% discount, plus the gift card savings...COOL COOL COOL! -
LOL Brad. Looking forward to it, of course. :)

Can Any Tennessee Residents Help me Out?

Elena, I was at Walmart today and bought the last pair of medium sleeping pants they had. Didn't see slippers. They had socks and hats...I'm going to PM you with more info... -

If I get a chance soon I can see what they have there. The closest Walmart to me is on the TN side of the state line (10 min drive...the one on the KY side is half an hour away) so it's where I do my shopping anyway. -

Walmart has that stuff all over the place but I don't know if it's online. I don't remember what specific items are in the store but they always have Titans merchandise there of some sort. -
Woohoo! :) And that Emerson Dual Screen 7" Car DVD Player looks darn good to me. :) I might need to find a sitter after all!
-
I think he's going to resell them.
-
Dh usually had a DONSA for Thanksgiving weekend so that always worked out nicely. (DONSA = Day Of Non Scheduled Activity = military day off)
-
I like them, as long as they are for a store I shop at. I'd rather get something I can use than something I can't. Plus I love to go shopping but I rarely have money to spend on myself, so a gift card gives me a shopping trip for ME. :)

When my dh is home, I let him wake up with the kids. I'm home pretty much an hour after they all wake up so it's not like he has to do anything hard. All grandparents are back in CA and it's not like I can hire a sitter to wake up and come over at 3 am, LOL. If I'm lucky I'll be able to arrange some sort of sleepover for the kids, but since everyone else's husband is deployed too, that is a lot of extra kids for one already-frazzled mom to handle first thing in the morning. So I have not entirely ruled out hitting the stores but I am counting on being an online shopper this year for most of what I want. If it turns out TRU has some incredible deals and I want to use my $5 off instore-only coupons...I don't know, I'm going to have to work something out somehow.
-
I have specific things I'm looking for and a limited budget, so it only takes me an hour or two to get what I want once the stores open. I'm often home by 8 am LOL.
-
Yeah, we get a lot of that here too. People stationed here are from all over...some are from states where it snows all the time and they are experienced at driving in the snow and will take more chances (and being soldiers, and younger, they tend to speed anyway)...some are from states where it doesn't ever snow (like me!) and drive like chickens (like me! LOL)...it's a bad combo. I try to avoid driving when it snows. Thankfully, if there is enough snow on the ground to bother me, they tend to shut down school, so I don't have to go anywhere.

Two? Wow! I don't know where I am going to put the one tree we have LOL. Every year I wind up rearranging furniture to make it fit somewhere. Last year I had to move a big shelving unit to totally block the main entrance to the living room, then move the couch, to be able to put the tree up in a good spot. This year the couch may wind up sticking out in the middle of the living room since our tree is even bigger now!

Well, I think that Daddy can take care of a puking kid just as well as I can LOL...when he is home anyway. Dh is deployed this year so that is likely going to be my reason to stay home: nobody to be here with the kids while I'm gone.
-
I think one year I did but normally I am far too busy cooking to head out.

In your area...which stores stock the smallest number of doorbusters? Last year I noticed every store I went to had what I wanted still in stock...but a few years back I went to K-Mart and almost everything on my list was gone by the time I got to it. I arrived at the store at 4:30 am and was probably 50th in line. When they opened the doors and let us in, I went straight to the talking Bob the Builder doll that they were selling for $5...and they were already all out of Bob and only had two Wendy dolls left. This was within 2 minutes of the store opening! I didn't have much luck with anything else on my list for that store either and finally cut my losses and went to wait at Toys R Us, where I was probably 100th in line, but found everything I wanted. I haven't been back to K-Mart on BF since. So what stores in your area are notorious for having very few of their deal items actually in stock?

Welcome! :) There have been some really great deals on laptops in the past...if that is what you are after, be prepared to wake up and be at the store *very* early; they are popular!
-
Yeah...and when they did close post, my husband's unit had all the guys drive into work to tell them post was closed and they should go home. So post was shut down because of the roads' "dangerous conditions" but all the guys had to drive in to be told to turn around and drive home!

Hmmm...I may need to do some babysitting for a neighbor of mine during the next month or so. Earn me some shopping time. LOL. Although that day is her daughter's first birthday, so I don't know how eager she will be to do early am babysitting.
-
I've never seen a flatbed shopping cart before.
-
It hasn't snowed in November the whole time I have lived out here. I'd be nervous driving down to the stores if it did though. Not just in the ice/snow but at night too? Yikes.

My kids are way too young to want to go. My kindergartener hates shopping unless it's a 5-minute trip to get him one particular thing he's been wanting and even then only if he gets the toy the second we're back in the car. The younger two will behave for awhile, but they never "want" to go shopping and they sure as heck wouldn't want to wake up that early and be out in the cold. I'm looking forward to some good shopping with my daughter in about 10 yrs though.
